Chapter 76

**Wedding Preparations**

*Luna’s POV*

With wedding preparations in full swing, the Silver Fang region was drenched in golden colors from the early light. Excitement filled the air as the earthy perfume of the woodland blended with the aroma of fresh flowers. Each member of the pack had a specific role: omegas rushed about with baskets of lace and silk, warriors hung lamps between tall trees, and the elders reclined in a secluded area, muttering about holy rites and ancient customs.

I was there in the middle of it all, seeing the well-planned mayhem play out. In the finest manner imaginable, it was overpowering.

Mira came up behind me, dabbing at her perspiration. "I promise you, Luna, organizing a wedding is more difficult than getting ready for combat."

I laughed. "At least you know what to expect in combat."

"That's right," she sighed. However, this place? After one incorrect floral arrangement, the elders start arguing for an hour.

She pointed to the elders, who were engaged in a heated debate over whether the ritual ought to take place by the River of Blessings or at the Moonstone Altar. Neither side was going to back down, and both were houses of worship.

I rubbed my temples and moaned. "I think I should resolve that."

Mira shoved me playfully. "Or you could take a break with your gorgeous fiancé and let them argue."

I followed her eyes to Kai standing close to several fighters. His golden eyes were keen and evaluating as he spoke to his Beta about security measures. He exuded authority even with leather bracers and a plain tunic.

He turned to face me as if he could sense my eyes, a slow smile spreading across his lips.

Mira let out a moan. "And the *look* is there."

I grinned. "What do you see?"

The expression "I could melt into a puddle because I'm so in love." It's repulsive.

I pushed her and laughed, then walked up to Kai. He threw aside the warriors as I drew closer, focusing only on me.

"Are you not here to inform me that we have yet another issue?" He made fun of it.

I gave a loud sigh. Oh, the same old thing. Mira is experiencing secondhand humiliation over how much she loves you, elders are fighting over ceremony places, and omegas are debating cake tastes.

With a laugh, Kai grabbed my hand. “Let them argue. The only thing that counts is us.”

My heart pounded.

I let myself enjoy this for a moment—the way his thumb grazed my knuckles, the way his warmth enveloped me like a shield of protection. It seemed almost unreal to be standing here with him, planning our future, after all we had gone through.

But as if destiny refused to allow us enjoy a moment of rest, a startling noise caught our attention.

Breathing hard, a scout ran into the clearing. His eyes were wide with fear, and his face was pale. "Luna! Alpha!" he exclaimed. "We're having trouble."

The whole camp became silent.

Kai tightened his hold on my hand. "What took place?"

The scout took a deep breath before responding. The rival pack is it. They sent an envoy.

There was a tight stillness between us.

Kai's face became serious. "Where are they?"

"They're at the eastern border, waiting."

Kai and I looked at each other. It was suspiciously timed. Why would the opposing pack pick *now* to get in touch while we were busy getting ready for our wedding?

Kai clinched his teeth and let out a deep sigh. "So let's avoid making them wait."

Then, with the burden of the unknown bearing down on us, we headed for the eastern border. This wedding was going to get much more complicated than we

had expected, regardless of what was waiting for us there.
