Chapter 77

Chapter 77

There was no denying that in bed, he pleased her.

Ava paused for a moment, then kissed the same spot again.

"Use, use your hand."

Her tone was coaxing.

She really couldn't accept oral sex, even though he loved to kiss every part of her body each time.

William was extremely uncomfortable but reluctantly accepted her suggestion.

This morning's activities made them both late.

Ava hurriedly put on light makeup and didn't even have time for breakfast, but she still couldn't clock in before nine. He had it easy, though - he could show up whenever he wanted. After all, he was the boss, and no one dared say anything to him.

The moment Ava stepped into the design department, Ella greeted her with an eye roll.

"Ava, even the boss's wife gets to work earlier than you!"

Ava naturally knew who she meant by "the boss's wife."

At that moment, Sarah was sitting at her desk with a great view, looking over with unfriendly eyes.

Ava replied in a whatever tone, "Overslept. Dock my pay then."

Ella rolled her eyes. "Tomorrow is the design department's annual competition. Everyone has to participate. Those who pass the evaluation get a raise, those who don't get fired. Better start preparing. Who knows if we'll still see you after tomorrow?"

Ava sat down at her desk and slowly turned on her computer.

The competition was tomorrow, and she was only being told today - wasn't this clearly meant to embarrass her? Getting fired was actually tempting, but while she didn't want to stay here, she wasn't going to leave by being kicked out.

These people wanted to exclude her and make her leave, but she wasn't going to let them have their way.

Her mindset right now was: I just want to see you all hate me, but not be able to do anything about it.

Ella wiggled away.

Ava opened her work email. There was a new email from this morning - the notification about tomorrow's competition.

She asked Evelyn, who was working hard beside her, "Have you prepared for tomorrow's competition?"

Evelyn clasped her hands together in prayer. "I've been preparing for a week. Whether I can stay at the Morgan Group depends on tomorrow. God bless."

"When did you get the notification?"

Evelyn thought for a moment. "About ten days ago, I think."

Ava was speechless. Just as she suspected - they were targeting her.

After reading the design requirements, she immediately got to work.

With her speed, though one day was short, she didn't need to create something amazing - handling the competition was no problem at all. Everyone in this room was a rookie compared to her. In the industry, they weren't even worthy of carrying her shoes.

She was so busy that day that she didn't even have time for lunch.

She finished just before the end of the workday.

She checked her phone and, unusually, found several missed calls from William from noon. She guessed he was probably calling her upstairs for lunch.

After sitting all day, her back was stiff.

"Is there a Ms. Davis here? Your food delivery!"

A young guy in a yellow uniform and helmet called out at the door.

Ava was stretching when she heard the voice and paused, confused. She instinctively felt the Ms. Davis the delivery guy mentioned wasn't her - she hadn't ordered any food.

The delivery guy waited for a while with no response and took out his phone to make a call.

Ava's phone on her desk rang.

A bit confused, she took the meal from the delivery guy and opened it in the break room. It was from her favorite restaurant.

She thought carefully - only one person at this company knew she loved this food.

She took a bite, her heart incredibly soft, sweet as if filled with honey.

Women are so easy to please - a small gesture moved her deeply. Right now, all she could think about was how good he was.

In all her time at the Morgan Group, this was the first time she'd buried herself in work. Her whole body was stiff from sitting all day.

After work, Ava remembered the yoga class James had signed her up for that she hadn't attended in a while. She'd missed several sessions. Since she had nothing else today, she might as well relax her body and mind.

Ava stepped on the gas and drove straight to the yoga studio.

She kept her clothes there and went to the changing room first to put on her yoga outfit. In front of the mirror, she gently touched her lower abdomen. A perceptive person could already see that her usually flat belly was slightly protruding. With two babies in her belly, she should start showing earlier than someone with a single pregnancy.

At the rate her weight was increasing, this maternity yoga outfit probably wouldn't fit much longer before she'd need a bigger size.

That clueless William had mentioned several times that she'd gained weight, but really she'd only gained in her belly and chest.

Ava pulled her hair up into a bun for easy movement, tidied up, and left the changing room, heading toward the yoga room.

The prenatal yoga and regular yoga rooms faced each other, each taking up half of this floor.

Just as she stepped into the classroom, someone behind her called her name viciously.

"Ava, what are you doing here?"

That voice, no matter when she heard it, made Ava's heart tremble - it was Sarah.

"None of your business."

She was so done. Why was Sarah everywhere? Was there any part of this world without Sarah? Even doing yoga, she ran into her.

She even suspected Sarah had followed her here; otherwise, why were there such coincidences every time?

Sarah looked at her, then at the sign on the door, as if shocked, her face showing uncontrollable panic.

"I'm asking you why you're in that classroom?"

Only then did Ava realize what Sarah cared about - her being in the prenatal yoga room had triggered Sarah.

Smart as she was, with Sarah's scheming mind, how could she not guess why Ava was appearing in the prenatal yoga room wearing maternity yoga clothes? She just didn't want to believe her eyes.

Besides Michael, Sarah was the second person around her to discover her pregnancy.

Ava remained calm. Given Sarah's designs on William, she wouldn't be stupid enough to tell William about this. She was probably the last person in the world who wanted William to know his wife was pregnant.

"You're pregnant?"

Sarah's emotions were turbulent, asking again in a tone of disbelief.

Ava nodded casually. "Yeah, aren't you going to congratulate me?"

Sarah's face instantly turned ugly. Even her lips were trembling uncontrollably. She clearly knew what Ava's pregnancy meant.

William was currently in control of the Morgan Group, so his child would naturally be the Morgan Group heir. She'd seen with her own eyes how much Howard liked this woman. Probably the moment her baby was born, Howard would be eager to divide up the family assets.

Carrying the Morgan Group heir, this Mrs. Morgan position was now secure.

Sarah took a step back, somewhat unsteady, staring at Ava with eyes full of hatred.

How could that woman have such good fortune, to be pregnant with William's child? She didn't deserve it!

Her gaze fell on Ava's lower abdomen, wishing she could poke holes in it.

"Ava, the child isn't his, right? He doesn't even like you. Why would he touch you?"

Sarah's smile was ugly.
