Chapter 119

Chapter 119

William was pushed by her, and his mind cleared up a bit.

"Come back with me tomorrow."

He emphasized again.

Ava was now like a cat that had been stroked the right way, incredibly obedient.

"Okay."

Her voice was soft and gentle.

The next second, William kissed her again.

"William, William..."

"You, get up, we don't have protection."

Ava thought of a perfect excuse. After all, there were few convenience stores near the villa, and it would be inconvenient to go out and buy some.

Sure enough, William rolled over the next second and lay back on his side of the bed, breathing heavily.

Having achieved her goal, Ava couldn't help but feel a wave of disappointment. He still didn't want a baby. Even at the critical moment, he would stop halfway because there was no protection, even if it was really hard for him to hold back.

"William, Sarah..."

At the mention of Sarah, William was clearly displeased. He suddenly sat up in bed.

"I'm going to take a shower."

The sound of water came from the bathroom. Ava stared at the Facebook post from her burner account, silently thinking to herself,

"Baby, once mommy completely drives that woman away from daddy, we'll be a happy family of four. Then no one can steal Daddy's love from you."

The first step—she had already driven Sarah out of the Morgan Group. William's attitude toward Sarah was no longer as indulgent as before. She would expose, bit by bit, all the things Sarah had done that crossed his boundaries.

These past few days, she hadn't missed a single news story about the Morgan Group's chief designer stealing Lolly's work. She had also read all the heated discussions online. Thankfully, netizens had the right values. Someone like her didn't deserve a good outcome.

Sarah was driven out of the Morgan Group and pressured by netizens to leave the design industry. She had brought this upon herself.

After seeing the result she wanted, Ava immediately contacted the SWAN company to back off and stop pursuing the matter. She didn't want the Morgan Group to be implicated, although this matter would inevitably affect the Morgan Group.

"Ava, what are you thinking about?"

William came out wrapped in a bath towel and saw Ava staring at her phone in a daze.

Ava's thoughts were pulled back.

"Nothing. I was thinking, you're not really going to make me go back to work at the Morgan Group, are you?"

William paused while drying his hair.

"You really don't want to go?"

After a moment, he said,

"If you don't want to go, then don't. Focus on your jewelry exhibition. It's not like I can't support a woman. But attend the press conference and the celebration dinner tonight, just make an appearance."

Ava wasn't used to him being so agreeable and asked suspiciously,

"You're really letting me do what I want?"

The next second, William's face darkened.

"You still want to go?"

Ava shook her head vigorously. "I don't want to go anymore."

William hung the towel on the rack, got into bed, and leaned against the headboard with one arm around her, twirling a strand of her hair between his fingers.

"Ava, Sarah must have encountered some difficulty. Knowing her as I do, she wouldn't do something that would ruin her own future. Being a jewelry designer has been her dream since childhood. Unfortunately, the Morgan Group can no longer keep her."

Ava felt a bit distracted listening to this. Even at this point, he still thought Sarah had her reasons. He probably didn't know that Sarah's reason was failing to marry him and be the only woman by his side.

"What kind of difficulty do you think would make her do this?"

Bringing up this heavy topic, William looked somewhat troubled.

"Ava, Sarah's situation is very difficult right now, and I can't help much. As for why she did this, I still need to figure it out."

Ava understood. He would still help Sarah out. After all, she was his unforgettable first love. Someone as perfectionist as him—how could he let his unforgettable first love be trampled into the mud?

Then perhaps she needed to let him know more about the evil things Sarah had done. She had to trample on his dignity completely before he would believe that Sarah was a person without boundaries.

The conversation ended there, with a moment of silence.

The two leaned against the headboard, each lost in their own thoughts.

The next morning, William got up to accompany Howard on a walk downstairs.

Ava took another nap and was woken by a phone call.

"My neighbor, I'm really sorry to bother you again. Could you please sell the house or kick that woman upstairs out? Before, having men over in the middle of the night was one thing, but these past few days, people of unknown identity have been coming to throw paint and trash.

Now the air in the entire hallway is unbearable. Please talk to her and tell her to spare us neighbors in this building."

The neighbor from downstairs at JadeDragon Bay Residences had called several times. Ava was already familiar with that slightly southern-accented female voice. She hadn't expected netizens to detest Sarah to this extent—actually showing up to throw trash, affecting the peace of the entire building's residents.

Ava paused.

"I'm sorry, ma'am. This house has nothing to do with me anymore. Please contact +1-212 in the future. He's also the owner, and he's the one who lent out the house. I can't make decisions about it."

"Ugh, fine. Okay then."

This time, Ava directly gave out William's phone number. The downstairs neighbor was quite helpless.

From now on, all the scandals Sarah caused would be reported directly to him—whether it was men coming over or people throwing paint. Let him get a good look at what kind of person he'd been in love with all these years.

She was curious—when William found out that Sarah claimed to love him while secretly having affairs in his house, what would he feel? Would he still unconditionally believe she had her reasons?

Ava smiled bitterly. She didn't know when she had started to become calculating, too. She really wouldn't have bothered with such things before.

She used to believe that feelings between two people had nothing to do with scheming and plotting. Loving someone meant loving them, just like how she fell for him at first sight.

Loving someone doesn't need a reason, and doesn't need all these manipulative tactics. Like sand slipping through fingers—the tighter you hold, the faster it flows away.

People aren't plants or trees; they have feelings.

What kind of person was William? How could his anger or joy be manipulated by others?

Ava changed clothes and went to wash up. When she came downstairs, William and Howard had already returned from their walk. Both of them looked upset—something must have happened.

Ava slowly came down the stairs, observing them.

Howard was leaning on his cane, his face dark.

The servants in the living room were going in and out doing their work. No one dared to speak. The atmosphere seemed frozen.

When Howard saw Ava, his stern face finally showed some expression.

"Ava, come here. I have something to say to both of you."

Ava obediently walked over and glanced up at William. He had a dark expression and said nothing.

"Grandpa, have some water first."

Ava poured a glass of warm water and handed it to Howard, trying to ease the atmosphere.

Unexpectedly, Howard threw the glass and water directly at William's face. William didn't dodge and took the hit head-on.

His forehead was cut, and blood immediately flowed down with the water. Even so, he stubbornly didn't blink.
