Chapter 358 Wearing the Same Clothes

Chapter 358 Wearing the Same Clothes

After the birthday party, Victoria jumped right into filming. Whenever she had scenes with Ella, Victoria would instantly get into character, often causing Ella to mess up her lines. The more Ella had to redo her scenes, the more frustrated the director became. Ella was also upset, suspecting Victoria was doing it on purpose, but she had no proof. Victoria's performance was flawless, and she was doing an excellent job.

Even though Ella's acting wasn't great, her attitude was commendable. She brought a coach to the set to guide her, and she never complained when the director asked for retakes. In contrast, Jasmine's acting was much better. Maybe it was a bit of talent and the fact that she grew up around film sets, but she could quickly get into character. However, she was less cooperative and more impatient than Ella, which made the director favor Ella more.

During an interview, the director first praised Victoria, calling her a talented actress and the best of the new generation. He then emphasized Ella's hard work, noting how she frequently sought advice from senior actors and never complained about late-night shoots. This level of dedication was rare among young actors. Ella wasn't working hard because she loved acting, but because she wanted to compete with Victoria. Despite her efforts, she couldn't surpass Victoria, who not only had talent but also worked harder.

Victoria's final scene involved the main characters kneeling before her, begging the goddess to save their friend. When Ella and Jasmine saw this in the script, they were indignant. It wasn't the scene itself, but the fact that they had to kneel to Victoria that disgusted them. Jasmine was the first to approach the director, suggesting they shoot the scene separately and piece it together in post-production. She didn't want to kneel in front of Victoria directly, even if the final broadcast would still show them kneeling.

Ella quickly agreed, "I think Jasmine's suggestion is great." She had been looking for a way to get the director to cut the scene and was glad Jasmine had a better idea.

The director's eyebrows shot up. "The art department put a lot of effort into designing this scene, even creating new costumes to enhance its grandeur. We have to shoot the full scene. It's just kneeling to another actor. If you can't handle that, you shouldn't be acting." His words were harsh, showing no leniency. Victoria had already approached him, expressing concern that having her contemporaries Ella and Jasmine kneel to her might not be appropriate.

Confidently, he had said, "They won't mind such a small thing." But now, Jasmine and Ella were asking to change the script, seemingly to assert their status. He wasn't a small-time director who could be pushed around by popular stars.

The surrounding crew started to whisper among themselves. Not wanting to be seen as difficult, Jasmine reluctantly explained, "It's not that I don't want to kneel. I was just making a suggestion. We'll shoot it as written."

Ella quickly added, "I've always respected you. Please don't be upset. I'll do it."

In the end, the two gritted their teeth and completed the scene. Afterward, Victoria gave them a disdainful look, still immersed in her character. But Ella and Jasmine believed Victoria was doing it on purpose. Their grievances dated back to school, and Victoria was holding a grudge.

After filming, Victoria met up with Mira for coffee. They took a selfie, which Victoria posted on her Twitter with the caption, "Afternoon tea with my best friend from college." Fans eagerly liked and commented, and many found Mira's account and followed her. That one photo gained Mira tens of thousands of new followers. Victoria maintained a professional distance with most people in the industry, but her friendship with Mira was well-known and genuine.

Ella was surprised when she saw this trending topic. In her previous life, Mira hadn't pursued acting and had become a teacher after graduation. Now, it seemed Mira had latched onto Victoria and become a minor celebrity.

Soon, it was time for the annual Twitter Night. Ella and Jasmine's show "Meeting the Goddess" had wrapped up, and Poppy's show was also finished, so they would all attend. Notably, Tessa had been spotted out at night with a young man, sparking rumors of a secret relationship. This scandal clashed with her innocent image, upsetting many fans. They demanded proof to clear the air, but Tessa's team only released a vague statement. Tessa then announced she wouldn't attend Twitter Night, which only fueled the speculation.

Victoria's status had risen significantly, making her the third-to-last to walk the red carpet and earning her a front-row seat. Ella and the others were seated in the second row. Victoria's look was stunning, dressed in a Valentino haute couture gown and adorned with Xemex diamond jewelry, exuding elegance and confidence.

When Ella appeared, the reporters were taken aback. Her outfit and styling closely resembled a look Delilah had previously worn. Though the dresses were from different brands, their colors and styles were strikingly similar, creating an awkward situation. Ella had managed to borrow a high-end dress, hoping to make a splash on social media.

But after walking the red carpet, her assistant informed her that she had worn a dress identical to Delilah's. Delilah, who had debuted around the same time as Tessa and had starred in movies, was much more established. People assumed Ella was trying to imitate Delilah. Not wanting to offend her, Ella refrained from promoting the look on social media and instead spent money to suppress the trending topic. She even apologized to Delilah, insisting it was a misunderstanding.

Delilah, impressed by Ella's respectful attitude, agreed to help suppress the story and minimize its impact. Later, Delilah discovered that her assistant makeup artist had been bribed to leak her look but had already left Sunhaven, making it hard to trace who was behind it. Delilah suspected Tessa, her long-time rival, who might have sabotaged her since she couldn't attend Twitter Night due to the relationship scandal.

Ella, on the other hand, suspected Jasmine. Ever since Ella had taken the lead role in "Meeting the Goddess," Jasmine had held a grudge. They frequently argued on set, and with Jasmine's connections in the fashion world, it would have been easy for her to set Ella up. Clenching her fists, Ella vowed, "Jasmine, you made me look bad today. I'll make sure you pay for this!"
