Chapter 70: Fighting Tournament

Chapter 70: Fighting Tournament
Sophia's Perspective
Looking at the tense confrontation before me, my brain was about to shut down.
I really didn't want a fight to break out at this moment, didn't want them to turn all their hostility toward Logan.
But clearly, Theo's sharp eyes burned with intense hostility, as if he wanted to devour Logan alive.
Fabian stared at me coldly, his gaze filled with disappointment and suspicion.
"Sophia, I think you need to explain what happened?"
Good, at least he was still willing to listen to my explanation.
I recalled the scene from that day: "The day after the ball, I returned home to find my apartment had been broken into. Everything in the apartment was smashed, it was a complete mess. I really had no choice..."
Theo roared at me: "Then why didn't you ask us for help?!"
I told him: "I was in great pain because of the Jessica and Fabian situation, and we had that fierce argument that day, so I chose not to come to you."
Theo's eyes became bloodshot with anger as he pointed at Logan: "So you went to this bastard for help?! Why would he be willing to help you? Did you sleep with him?! Damn it!"
His words pierced my heart like a sharp blade. I felt the anger in my blood instantly boil, and I could no longer suppress the fury within me.
In my rage, my palm struck Theo's cheek hard with a crisp "slap" that echoed through the room.
Finally, everything returned to silence.
At this moment, Ruby hurried forward, standing beside me: "I was also there that day. Logan was still my boyfriend then, so you don't need to suspect Sophia and Logan's relationship."
Then, Logan suddenly reached out his arm and pulled me into his embrace.
His action carried a possessive implication as he looked at Theo provocatively: "So what if we did? I can protect Sophia. She doesn't need you at all."
My God, everything was falling apart!
I felt like a rag doll being pulled in different directions, with everyone wanting to claim me as their own.
I struggled free from Logan's embrace and accused them of their terrible behavior: "Don't treat me like this! Listen, I'm not your property!"
Theo slowly approached me, a cruel smile curling at the corner of his mouth: "Aren't you? Sophia, but you once personally promised to become my slave."
"Boom—"
In that moment, it felt like something exploded in my mind.
I never expected Theo would reveal our most important secret at this moment, especially with Ruby and Logan present.
I felt dizzy, the world beneath my feet beginning to collapse.
I could no longer bear this humiliation, didn't even dare to look at Logan and Ruby's expressions, and turned to run toward the bedroom, slamming the door with all my strength.
-
I locked the bedroom door and didn't open it no matter how much Theo and Fabian roared.
It wasn't until they left that I completely collapsed onto the bed.
I don't know how much time passed, but in my half-awake state, the shrill sound of my phone ringing woke me.
The phone screen showed Ruby's name. I hesitated for a few seconds before finally pressing the answer button.
I guessed she must be worried about my condition, after all, everything that happened last night was too shocking.
"Hi, Ruby..." I weakly greeted her.
But Logan's voice came through instead: "Sophia, come out of the apartment right now. I'm taking you somewhere."
Damn it, he was using Ruby's phone to call me.
I rubbed my throbbing temples as fatigue washed over me: "No, Logan, I really don't want to go anywhere right now. I just want to be alone..."
"If you don't come out, I'll climb up to your window and carry you out."
Logan's tone was serious, completely without any hint of joking.
Damn it! I frustratedly pushed open the window and looked down, sure enough, Logan was standing at the apartment entrance.
Helplessly, I had to put on my coat and drag my weary body downstairs.
When Logan saw me come out, he didn't say much, but casually tossed another helmet to me, signaling me to get on the back seat of the motorcycle.
"Get on, we're going for a ride."
I held the helmet and was stunned for a moment, "Where are we going?"
He raised an eyebrow, urging me: "Somewhere that will surprise you. Quick! Get on!"
From his tone, it seemed like we were about to do something crazy.
When the motorcycle started and I instinctively wrapped my arms tightly around his solid waist, I couldn't help but scream.
The roar of the engine exploded in the air, deafening yet full of power. My weary heart seemed to awaken again, beginning to beat anew.
Until we left all those damn troubles behind us.
I never expected Logan would bring me to a fighting arena.
Inside the arena, there were men's roars and shouts everywhere. The primitive and wild atmosphere hit me in the face, with the air mixed with the scent of sweat, blood, and hormones, making one's blood involuntarily begin to boil.
That long-lost desire for battle awakened in my veins, actually making me feel unprecedented vitality.
Logan turned sideways, his gaze locked on me: "There's a fighting match tonight. You'll definitely love it."
I instinctively hesitated, not daring to step up.
Because I had always been very resistant to killing, afraid of seeing bloody scenes.
To put it simply, I abhorred violence.
"Come on, Sophia! Haven't you always wanted to become a warrior? Today I'll show you what a real warrior is." Logan's excited voice rang in my ears.
"Oh no," I shook my head, "I hate fighting just for the sake of fighting. I'm a pacifist. I want to become a warrior only to protect the people around me, not to conquer or destroy."
Logan looked at me seriously: "Sophia, the werewolf world is this cruel. Only by defeating others can you become stronger. Always avoiding conflict will never make you a true warrior."
I opened my eyes wide, feeling the huge impact his words brought me, making me begin to re-examine my own thoughts.
Maybe he was right. Maybe my persistence all along was just a cowardly performance, which is why the wolf inside me had been reluctant to awaken.
Logan didn't give me a chance to hesitate and directly picked me up.
