Chapter 34: Tracking Device
Sophia's Perspective
I lay on my side in bed as the morning sun slowly rose, its rays streaming through the window onto my face, yet I felt no warmth whatsoever.
Having stayed awake all night, my eyes were dry and aching, and my throat felt parched as if it were about to catch fire.
The Ellis brothers were determined to force me to give up Owen and admit to stealing the documents. They wouldn't even leave a glass of water by my bedside.
I licked my cracked lips, the sharp pain in my throat making me unable to suppress a soft moan.
I struggled to turn my body, my legs trembling as I tried to stand.
There was a water pitcher in the corner of the room with some lukewarm water left from yesterday.
I continued trying to break free from the clothes binding my wrists, but the rough cotton fabric had already cut into my skin. Every twist brought searing pain.
I hated how my body lacked a wolf - I couldn't even tear through ordinary cotton fabric.
Left with no choice, I gave up struggling and stumbled toward the table, trying to lean down and bite the handle of the water pitcher with my teeth.
"Click—"
A slight sound of the door opening came from the entrance. I jerked my head up, my body losing balance with the sudden movement and crashing hard into the table edge.
The glass on the table crashed to the floor with a piercing shatter in the quiet space, fragments flying and cutting my exposed ankle, blood seeping through the wounds.
"Looks like your survival instincts aren't bad - at least you know to find water for yourself."
All my suffering was thanks to him, yet all I got in return was his mocking laughter.
"After a whole night, you should have thought things through," he slowly entered the room. "Tell us the truth. Now."
He stood before me, emanating alpha aura, those deep eyes showing not a trace of mercy.
My heart was a tangle of emotions - anger, grievance, and more than anything, worry for Owen's safety. They had taken my phone, and I had no idea how Owen was doing.
Owen shouldn't be dragged into our conflict.
I looked up at him, "First tell me, how is Owen?"
Theo's expression instantly darkened, and he suddenly punched the wall with such force that the entire room shook violently.
"You're still worried about that man now?" he snarled through gritted teeth. "You're nothing but a slutty whore!"
Theo breathed heavily, roughly untying the clothes that bound my wrists. Before I could recover, he forcefully pressed me down onto the bed.
That familiar sense of invasion enveloped me once again, my body instantly tensing.
God, I didn't want anything sexual to happen between us at this moment!
The trust between us was virtually zero. He looked down on me as an omega, and countless conflicts lay between us.
But he forcefully pushed between my legs, and I felt a burning heat source pressing against my inner thighs.
The size was so large I couldn't ignore it.
My body began responding to the alpha - not purely from fear, but despair mixed with pleasure and moisture. My pussy started secreting fluid, and my nipples swelled painfully.
He lifted my leg and placed it directly on his shoulder.
Oh no!! My mind screamed, desperately resisting his actions.
Soon, I felt something cold against my ankle as he secured a metal object to it, then released me.
"Fuck! What did you put on my foot?!"
I struggled to remove it, shouting angrily at Theo.
"It's a tracking device. From now on, wherever you go, we'll know your whereabouts - just like a collar with a GPS tracker on a dog," Theo said cruelly.
-
Theo brought me to the top floor, to Fabian's room.
As I entered, I noticed Fabian was handling a pile of documents.
I took a deep breath and decided to speak up. Continuing this standoff wouldn't benefit anyone, and I was also worried about Owen's safety.
"I have something to say about the stolen documents."
Fabian looked up, those eyes behind his glasses watching me coldly, while Theo crossed his arms and leaned against the wall, waiting for my explanation.
"First, I admit that I did have my own purpose in the office that day."
I bit my lower lip. "I wanted to find evidence that could prove my father's innocence, so I paid attention to the documents on the desk. But I swear, I didn't steal anything."
Fabian's sharp gaze assessed me, my honesty only bringing more suspicion.
"I merely glanced at the titles," I said truthfully. "I know it was wrong, but to save my father, I had no choice."
Theo scoffed dismissively, "How touching, this father-daughter bond."
"Let me finish!" I raised my voice. "More importantly, I suspect the real thief is Amy."
The atmosphere in the room instantly froze. This statement made both brothers look at me simultaneously, the tension in the air reaching its peak.
"Amy?" Theo raised an eyebrow. "What's your evidence?"
I analyzed systematically: "First, the timeline. You said the documents were last seen two days ago - the day of the rugby game and celebration party. Amy happened to be brought back to the apartment by you that night. She had sufficient time and opportunity to steal the documents."
Fabian stopped typing, listening to my analysis.
"Second, motive," I continued. "If I remember correctly, Amy's father is a high-level executive at Ellis Corporation. If my father is innocent, the spy must still be within Ellis Corporation. What if that person is him?"
Theo's expression began to grow serious. I could see he was seriously considering my words.
The room fell into brief silence. Seeing the changing expressions on their faces, I knew my analysis was having an effect - they were beginning to believe me, even if just a little.
"I hope you can investigate Amy's whereabouts," I said earnestly. "If my guess is wrong, I'm willing to bear all consequences. But if I'm right, I hope you can clear both my father's and my name."
Fabian sneered, "All consequences? You are too conceited."
At this critical moment, the apartment's alarm suddenly blared, the piercing sound breaking the tense atmosphere in the room.
All three of us froze as Fabian's computer suddenly displayed streams of red code and exclamation marks.
"Someone is using hacking technology to attack the Ellis Corporation building."
Fabian had installed detectors in the apartment that could monitor the Ellis building's status in real-time.
I instantly panicked, my heart racing.
