Chapter 131: "You Are My Fated Mate"

Chapter 131: "You Are My Fated Mate"
Sophia's POV
I snapped my eyes open and examined my surroundings.
Damn it! What kind of place had Kieran tricked me into?!
I recalled the scene before I lost consciousness.
I had been sitting in a car with Kieran's assistant, a beta named Carl.
At first, I huddled on one side of the car, hiding a defensive dagger in my bag.
But later, I discovered the car was indeed heading toward Ellis Corporation, so I gradually let my guard down.
Just before arriving at Ellis Corporation, Carl answered a phone call.
After Carl hung up, I asked curiously, "Was that Mr. Kieran? Did the contract signing go smoothly?"
"Yes, Miss," Carl nodded. "Frost Corporation has successfully reached a partnership with Ellis Corporation."
Great! The first step of our plan had succeeded. Kieran had successfully fallen into the trap Fabian designed.
"However, I am so sorry, Miss Sophia."
Carl showed a troubled expression.
"What?"
I looked up in confusion, then smelled a sickly sweet odor, and quickly lost consciousness.
My clothes had been changed into a dress made of high-quality fabric. The luxury of this room was no less than the Ellis apartment, but it was so unfamiliar it frightened me.
What was Kieran's true purpose? I couldn't figure out this man's thoughts at all.
I got out of bed and found my personal bag.
Hell! my dagger and phone were both gone.
The phone contained a tracker Logan had installed for me. That was my only hope.
Just as I was despairing, there was a knock on the door.
A female housekeeper walked in, followed by several maids.
"Miss Sophia, did you sleep well last night?"
The housekeeper greeted me warmly, with a gentle but not obsequious smile on her face.
I clenched my fists and stared at her fiercely. "I want to see Kieran Frost."
She seemed to have anticipated my intense attitude and still said gently, "Mr. Kieran is waiting downstairs to have lunch with you. Miss Sophia, please choose a dress you like and change first."
What nonsense was she talking? I had been kidnapped here, not invited by Kieran as a guest!
I had completely lost patience to continue dealing with her. I pushed past her and went straight downstairs.
When Kieran saw me coming down in my nightgown, a flash of surprise crossed his eyes, but he quickly returned to normal.
The housekeeper and the servants followed behind me.
Kieran stepped past me and said to them, "Just take care of Miss Sophia. You can't even complete such a simple task. You've disappointed me greatly. Carl, take them down for punishment."
Carl bowed. "Yes, Mr. Kieran."
My eyes widened in disbelief. "What? Kieran, you're absolutely insane!"
I had never thought of letting others be punished because of me. They were innocent!
I blocked Carl's way, glaring at him. "Get lost!"
Carl looked at Kieran.
Kieran smiled. "Such a kind girl. Alright, for your sake, I can spare them."
The servants behind me were greatly relieved and thanked me one after another. Carl and they left the dining room, leaving only the two of us.
Sure enough, Kieran's gentlemanly manner was all pretense. He was an absolute devil.
"Don't be so agitated, Sophia. I just want to have a nice lunch with you."
I accused him, "You kidnapped me!"
He put down his utensils and walked straight to me. "I apologize for my rashness. But the Ellis brothers deceived me first. They broke their promise, so I had to take extreme measures. I just wanted to see you, Sophia."
His affectionate gaze made me very uncomfortable, and my anger suddenly diminished by half.
I stepped back, awkwardly avoiding his approach.
The Ellis brothers and Logan had underestimated him. I should have realized earlier that Kieran couldn't be easily deceived.
I took a deep breath and tried to negotiate with him. "Just one lunch? I can satisfy that, but you need to give me my phone back first."
"Give it back so you can contact Fabian or Logan?"
Kieran seemed to hear a joke.
"Sophia, this is my territory. What you need to do first is obey."
I lifted my head stubbornly. "What if I don't?"
Kieran's eyes flickered with unusual excitement. His fingers brushed past my hair and cheek, making me tremble all over.
"You can try. I'm looking forward to it."
Damn, the desire in his eyes was more terrifying than wanting to kill me.
I hastily lowered my head, walked around him, and headed to the dining table to sit down.
After the intense anger, hunger overwhelmed me. I looked at the table full of delicious food.
Kieran sat across from me, spread his napkin, and raised an eyebrow.
"If there's anything unsatisfactory, feel free to bring it up. I can have the chef remake it."
"No." I quickly denied it, afraid that a second later, he would make things difficult for the chef because of me.
I avoided his gaze, picked up the pasta in front of me, and ate in small bites.
"Is your health better?" he asked.
"What?" I was stunned.
"I heard from Theo that your physical condition has been poor recently. Did something happen?"
He looked at me very seriously, as if truly concerned about my health.
My heart pounded violently, my throat went dry, and I immediately picked up my water glass and took a sip.
"It's fine now..."
I lowered my head and casually brushed him off.
The lunch lasted about half an hour. I put down my knife and fork and wiped my mouth.
"Alright, lunch is over. Can I go now?"
Kieran smiled. "I'm afraid not, Sophia."
"Why?" His cruel words nearly broke me emotionally. "I've already satisfied your demand, Kieran, you liar!"
"Aren't you all liars too?"
Kieran's face became serious, and my heart skipped a beat.
"From the moment Fabian invited me to cooperate, I sensed something was wrong. You deliberately lured me in with generous compensation. What for?"
Damn it, Kieran had indeed noticed the problem.
In that case, there was no point in continuing to hide.
I stood up and confronted him. "Because you hurt Logan and the citizens of the Silver Moon Pack. You're a complete bastard, Kieran!"
Kieran frowned, looking puzzled. "You actually think I'm the mastermind behind this? That's hilarious."
"Stop lying, Kieran. The culprit who was caught has already accused you. You not only ordered the thugs to attack the cruise ship, you also instructed Heyman to steal confidential documents from Ellis Corporation!"
But Kieran didn't care about my accusations at all.
"Idiots, you've been deceived."
What? I hesitantly stepped back.
His frank attitude made me start to doubt my own thoughts.
Could it be that Kieran really wasn't the culprit?
"That's impossible! Kieran." I continued to press him. "Then let me ask you, you clearly knew about the trap we designed, so why did you still sign a contract with Ellis Corporation?"
"Because of you, Sophia."
Kieran walked in front of me, looked into my eyes, and said seriously, "From the first moment I saw you, I knew you were my fated mate."
