Chapter 70 — We Need a Plan

Tatum’s POV:

I was sitting on the sofa a full arm's length from Luna. She had allowed me to sit first and had I known she was going to sit so far away I would have insisted she sit first. I didn’t like feeling like there was a wedge or gap between us and my wolf growled in agreement.

“Well let's start from the beginning shall we?” Amelia says with a smile shaking me from my thoughts.

“When you and your sister were threatened something awakened in Luna. She is capable of many things and has many abilities and what you witnessed are just a few of them. First we'll start with the fire ability.” She begins.

“I’ve already seen the fire she possesses multiple times. It’s fueled by anger and rage.” I responded.

“And love.” Amelia adds and I stare at her slightly confused.

“Luna used her fire ability as well as others tonight because she cares for you and your sister and she was willing to protect you at all costs. Protecting you and your sister was her top priority so therefore she used the power of fire to burn your attackers out of love this time not anger.” She says as she waves her hand in the air making cups and a picture of tea appears before us.

“And what about the slow-motion thing with the bullets?” I ask, crossing my arms as she pours tea in each glass.

“Ah that! That wasn’t slow motion. Luna has the ability to warp time. Usually that means she can only slow down time but she completely froze it. A difficult task for many witches and unheard of while using other abilities at the same time.” Amelia says, bringing the cup to her lips as Luna reaches for a glass.

“And the bright light?” I ask as I watch Luna stare down into the glass with a look of worry.

“That is called healing light. Most beings who possess that power can usually only concentrate it onto a small area but Luna was able to disperse the light to cover your entire body, which explains why you are completely healed now without a single burn.” Amelia replies as she looks over her glass at me.

“So what exactly is Luna?” I ask with a glare.

“She’s the most special kind of hybrid there is and the only one in existence. She is a white wolf with golden eyes as I presume you are as well given your eye color. You are the only two in existence and it’s quite amazing how you ended up being mates. Luna is also a witch and the demon queen.” Amelia says and I notice Luna flinching at her words out of the corner of my eye.

“Luna’s father was the king of the underworld, and her mother was the highest-ranking witch in the coven…that is until Luna was born, and upon her parents' deaths she was supposed to inherit the throne here as well as her rightful place among the witches. She is the being that will tie our worlds together in peace and end the suffering of so many. Her parents however kept her shielded from our worlds and rightfully so. Shielding her helped protect her from people like Russell whose only intent was to gain power.” Amelia says with a glance towards Luna.

I stand and begin pacing behind the sofa where Luna sits and a silence falls over the room and I can hear Luna’s heart beating rapidly in her chest.

“I know this is a lot to take in right now, Luna, but a lot of people are depending on you.” Amelia says softly.

“I know.” Luna says in a whisper.

“And a lot of people are depending on you, Tatum, to help guide and support Luna through this.” Amelia continues.

“I’ll give you two some time to talk. Come find me when you're ready.” Amelia says, then stands and leaves the room.

“So now what?” Luna asks.

“I don’t know.” I reply, trying to calm myself and allow the information I was given to sink in.

“What happened after I...was taken?” She asks.

“The council appeared. They wanted to take you but before they could that Drew guy took you.” I replied.

I hear Luna inhale sharply at my words and a silence falls between us.

“So I need to go see the council then?” She says after a few moments.

“You most certainly will not!” Drew shouts as he suddenly appears before us.

“If you go to the council you may not come back!” He continues.

“Then what should we do?” Luna asks.

I begin to go over several things in my head when it suddenly clicks.

“What if we call them here for a meeting?” I ask as I shoot a glance at Drew.

“That will never work! The council are not allowed to step foot into our realm and besides how would you even draw them out?” Drew replies.

“We could meet at the office.” Luna suddenly says, turning to look at me.

“I know a few spells that can dampen magical energy so we could summon them without risk of them trying to attack us.” She continues.

“Even if that worked how would we get them there?” Drew replies with doubt.

“That's the easy part. We use the same tactic I used to get here” I say with a smile.

“And how is it you plan to do this? Council members rarely grace the earthly realm.” Drew states matter-of-factly.

“My mother works closely with the council. I’m sure it wouldn’t be that difficult.” I replied.

“And how do we know we can trust you?” Amelia says as she walks through the door.

“How do we know you won't just turn her over the moment they get there?” She continues.

“She is my mate, why would I sacrifice her. If I was going to let someone just take her I wouldn’t have followed her to the depths of hell to get her back.” I reply with a snarl at the accusation.

“Literally.” Luna replied as she looked around the room.
