Chapter 64 — Picking A Date
Luna's POV:
"Shouldn't we pick a date first?" I say as I lean into him.
"How about a fall or Christmas wedding." Tatum says casually.
"This year?" I ask.
"Yes, this year." Tatum replies with a smile.
"Do you think they will be able to do something that soon?" I ask.
"I'm sure they can and if they can't we can keep looking until we find someone who can." Tatum replies.
"Now all you have to do is tell me, fall or Christmas?" Tatum says, bringing my hand to his lips.
"That's a tough choice. There are so many gorgeous colors for fall but Christmas colors are so beautiful also." I replied thoughtfully.
"Which do you think would be best?" I ask.
"I like the idea of fall." Tatum replies.
"Then fall it is." I say with a smile.
"But when this fall?" Tatum asks.
"Uhh. Well if we are wanting to have the pretty fall colors sometime in October would probably be best." I replied.
"How about October 21st?" Tatum asks.
I quickly pull out my planner to see what day the 21st is on.
"That's on a Friday so that would work." I say as I squeeze his hand.
Tatum and I talk about the small details and within no time we finally arrive to meet the planner. Kalie meets us just outside the door and follows us inside. We are immediately greeted by a friendly young blonde woman in a grey pants suit who introduced herself as Amanda. We begin to go over the few details we have decided on and she asks us many questions regarding our special day. Luckily Amanda had an opening for our specified date and she began going down a long to-do list of things that would have to be done within the next few weeks.
"Well, I guess it's a good thing we have a few weeks off." I reply playfully.
"I guess it is." Tatum replies as he puts his arm around my shoulder.
Before we leave with our to do list Amanda writes down a few web sites and makes a few appointments with us for cake tastings and venue walkthroughs. Once everything is settled we head out to find lunch. After lunch, Kali insists on going to some of the local dress shops to look for a suit and dress for Tatum and me.
I am browsing through the wedding gowns as Tatum is having his measurements taken when something outside the window catches my attention. I look up through the window quickly but can't find what I thought I saw.
"You ok?" Kali ask's, noticing the expression on my face.
"Yeah. I just thought I saw someone." I reply quietly.
"Well I don't see anyone out there so it was probably nothing." Kali says as she looks out the window.
"You're probably right." I reply as I go back to browsing the dresses trying to push the thoughts from my mind.
I've looked through several racks but haven't seen anything that has grabbed my attention. I call one of the staff over and ask if they have an online selection I can browse through as well. The woman explains they don't have an online selection but that they do have a catalog that has many more options in it. The young woman disappears and then returns with two catalogs in hand. I thank her and then return to Tatum and Kali.
Tatum's measurements have been taken and now they are browsing through their suit selection.
"Since we're doing a fall wedding princess, what colors should we go with?" Tatum asks me.
I glance at the color options in front of him and select the dark red, dark purple, and burnt orange colors. After going back and forth we decide on a traditional black tux with a dark red vest and dark red tie.
"Do you also have sashes for wedding dresses in this color as well?" I asked one of the attendants.
"Yes ma'am we can get sashes or belts in any of the colors listed." The woman replies.
"Do you have a particular style of dress in mind?" The woman asks.
"No not yet. I still have to look through these." I reply as I hold up the catalogs.
"I see. Well if you'd like I can show you the styles of belts and sashes we carry and we can order the one you like best in this color." The woman says as she opens another book in front of me.
The woman turns a few pages to show me the styles they have and can order. In the end, I decide on a simple belt to match the color of Tatum's vest and tie, and a man comes over to take my waist measurements. Over the next few days Tatum and I stay busy picking out stationary for invites, decorations, food, and finalizing the details for the cake.
Kali and I browsed through both catalogs and I eventually decided on a white strapless A-line dress. I placed the order for my dress with the company and just had to wait for it to come in so we could do the necessary alterations. The next day we met up with Amanda to go over a few venues that would be available for the dates we needed. After narrowing it down between two locations we booked flights to visit the venues.
The first venue is in Whales, and although it is beautiful, it doesn't really strike our interests. The second venue is in North Yorkshire, England, and is absolutely stunning. Tatum and I decide to book the large castle called Swinton Park. Once the details are set in place and the booking complete for our big day, Amanda goes on to book the D.J. and caterers. She books a makeup artist and hairdresser for me. Things are starting to take shape, and on the flight home, we can barely contain our excitement.
