The Death

Chapter 18

Tanya’s POV

I could feel my body begin to lose control, as if I were drowning in the ocean.

"Damn it, is this because I've lost too much blood?" I thought to myself, struggling to keep consciousness.

My mind started to wander as a series of memories flashed before me like a slideshow.

As memories flooded my mind, I saw myself as a child, running through fields of wildflowers with joy and abandon.

I remembered the embrace of my mom, the warmth and comfort that came with it.

There were moments of triumph and achievement, where hard work had paid off and success was sweet.

But as my body weakened, the memories became harder to hold onto, slipping away like sand through my fingers.

I remembered my first meeting with Brande, his gentle demeanor and attention to detail had won me over.

Then there was Elton, who had saved me from danger with his handsome and domineering presence.

But there were also more harrowing recollections, like the grief I felt when my mom passed away or the fear that gripped me during the period Carlos held me.

I saw the faces of strangers who had touched my life in profound ways, and the small gestures of kindness that had made all the difference during difficult times.

Despite my body's weakness, I clung on to these memories like they were lifelines to the world beyond. Each one held a sense of meaning and significance that was impossible to articulate, but which gave me a sense of purpose and belonging.

My breathing became labored as I struggled to stay alive, each gasp for air becoming more difficult.

Is this how it ends? I couldn't help but feel a sense of regret. I had finally found happiness after so long, only to have it ripped away from me.

Despite my efforts, I knew I was losing the battle for consciousness. And with a final gasp, everything went dark.

But just when I was about to give up, my body began to emit a hot red light.

I felt a warm energy flow into my body, starting in my hands and spreading to my chest, eventually encompassing my entire body.

The feeling was akin to a tamed wolf encountering its owner - friendly and docile at first, yet fiercely protective when its master was threatened.

The red light emitted intense heat, causing the black-clad woman's knife to heat up and burn her hand.

She had no choice but to drop the knife and retreat backward.

"Tanya! Tanya! Damn you! I won't let you get away with this!" She glared at me with hatred before running out of the room.

Elton arrived just in time to see her fleeing.

"Where do you think you're going?" He yelled, sprinting after her and delivering a powerful kick that sent her tumbling to the ground.

Meanwhile, I stumbled towards the door, trying to escape the danger. Elton's quick reflexes and strength had saved my life once again.

"Where did you get hurt?" he asked, worriedly examining my injury after his guards restrained the attacker.

"I'm fine," I said, trying to stand up straight to show that I wasn't seriously hurt. "You know me, I'm tough. Don't underestimate me."

Elton gently helped me up, saying with a hint of exasperation, "Don't try to play fake strong in front of me."

I pursed my lips, choosing to remain silent in front of Elton. I always acted tough around him because I didn't want him to think of me as just a pretty face.

But that light from earlier, what was it? Could it be that I had magical powers? I knew I had talent; perhaps my true potential had yet to be discovered!

Lost in thought, I was brought back to reality when one of the guards approached us, asking, "My lord, what should we do with her?"

Elton's expression darkened as he replied, "Whitney, give me one reason not to kill you." His cold eyes emitted an intense killing intent.

I was confused at the mention of this unfamiliar name. And then I remembered her.

"Hmm! Why?" Whitney sneered. "I've liked you since we were young, and you know it. I've been with you for so long, rejecting countless alphas in the clans for you. And now you're marrying her? What about all the time I spent with you? Do you not feel my love for you?

"Elton! Are you planning on killing me today because of this shameless woman?""

Elton looked at her with disdain and said, "I don't recall ever accepting you, Whitney. It's laughable that you think I owe you something just because you have feelings for me."

"Furthermore, she was not a shameless woman; she was my mate, Tanya. And I love her."

Suddenly, Elton turned to me and confessed his feelings. My face turned bright red.

This was something straight out of a drama!

Without further ado, Elton drew his sword from the guard's hand and stabbed toward Whitney.
