Chapter 16

Tanya’s POV

I let out a sigh and explained to Brande, "Elton did it for my safety."

"Carlos has been eyeing me like prey. Your family also never approved of me, they just saw me as a random woman you two brought back."

"In order to protect me, he decided to marry me."

"I love both of you. You and Elton are my lovers, and I'm willing to live with both of you."

"Elton is also willing to share my love for you. Brande, are you willing?" I looked at Brande earnestly, hoping he would make a decision soon.

They were both the loves of my life, and losing either one of them would break my heart.

Brande turned to Elton and asked, "Is this true?" Elton just nodded slightly and turned.

I gazed at Brande tenderly, hoping he would accept this.

After a moment of hesitation, he finally nodded. I hugged him tightly, feeling overjoyed.

"I knew you would be the best to me," I said softly, and he lovingly stroked my hair.

Elton raised his hand, paused for a moment, and then lowered it down again.

I knew that Brande and Elton were both proud men, and they might not be able to accept this arrangement immediately. Over time, their brotherly bond might even be strained. But I was determined to slowly help them accept each other, because I loved them both equally.

Brande's POV:

As I watched my brother, who was usually so protective of me, grinning like a fool, triumph shining in his eyes, I suddenly thought of that one.

"Hey, Elton," I asked, "if you get married, won't Whitney cause trouble?"

Elton said nothing, and I added, "All these years, the girls who pursued you were either dumped on the edge of the continent, or quietly disposed of, and none of them ended well. No one else knows. Don't you know who made them?"

Elton looked at me with a sly smile, then changed the topic and began chatting with Tanya about something else.

After a while, I saw that Elton was still ignoring me, so I spoke up again. "I don't care about what others do, but if Whitney dares to harm Tanya, I promise you, I won't let her get away with it."

"If anyone dares to hurt Tanya, I will use the most brutal torture to make her wish she was never born. And you as well." I spoke in a low voice, my expression darkening.

Elton sighed softly and said,"You can rest assured, I'm very clear about who I want to be with. Over the years, I have made it very clear to Whitney that I am not interested in her. If she dares to cause trouble, I won't need your help to deal with her."

His tone was chilly, and he sounded cold as he spoke.

I nodded slightly, then spoke up again, this time with more determination. "Elton, let me make one thing clear. Although we are related by blood, I will not allow you to bully Tanya. Don't take out your petty grievances on her."

He sneered contemptuously at me. "My dear little brother, you seem to have forgotten one thing. You're not the only one who loves Tanya. She's also my mate," he said, his voice hardening. "I'm willing to share her with you, but that doesn't mean I have to listen to your demands."

But I wasn't backing down. "This is not an empty threat, Elton. I'll do whatever it takes to protect Tanya."

As my words hung in the air, a heavy silence descended on us. I could feel Tanya's eyes on me, but I didn't dare look at her, knowing that my expression would betray the anger and frustration I was feeling.

For a moment, I considered pressing the issue further, but when I saw the hurt look on Tanya's face, I knew that it wasn't worth it. This situation was complicated enough already, and I didn't want to make things worse by causing unnecessary conflict.

Instead, I took a deep breath and forced myself to remain calm, even though every fiber of my being was screaming for me to fight back.

"Fine," I said, my voice cold and measured. "We'll drop it for now. But don't think this is over, Elton. I'll be watching you."

He waved his hand impatiently and turned away from me, clearly done with the conversation.

I had wanted to argue further, but when I saw Tanya looking unhappy, I decided to keep my thoughts to myself.

God’s Eye View

Carter stepped into the living room, and his heart sank as he surveyed the scene. The once-pristine furniture was now in pieces, shards of glass and shattered wood littering the floor. Books and knick-knacks were scattered haphazardly around the room, as if a tornado had torn through.

Carter took a deep breath and tried to remain calm, but anger and frustration began to bubble up inside him. He knew that Whitney had been struggling with her infatuation with Elton, but he never thought it would come to this.

As he started to pick up the pieces and clean up the mess, his mind raced with worry over Whitney's mental state. He knew she needed help, but he didn't know how to reach her. Carter couldn't shake the feeling that things were only going to get worse if something wasn't done soon.
