THE UNUSUAL REQUEST.

CHAPTER 77: THE UNUSUAL REQUEST.

Cormac was in his chamber that evening. It was already getting dark. He sat on his chair as several thoughts ran through his head.

Beside him, on a side stool, was a tall glass cup, but it was empty. The claw of his index finger on his right hand was extended. With it, he scratched the armrest of the chair he sat on. He didn't even realize what he was doing as he reminisced on a couple of things.

Hearing a knock on his door, he snapped out of his thoughts.

"Who is it?" he asked.

"It is I, my Lord."

He figured out it was Jasper, so he sighed, and then got up, walking to the door. As he unlocked the door, swinging it open, he sighted Jasper and a human maiden. She was tall and beautiful. Way more beautiful than the usual human girls he saw.

Beauty was one of the criteria every maid who worked at the fortress met. You would not be considered if you were below a certain standard of physical appearance.

"My Lord," Jasper bowed as he answered the door.

"As requested, my Lord," Jasper said, gesturing at the human maiden.

"Thank you," Cormac appreciated.

"Come in," he said further to the maiden. She smiled as she genuflected, and then she walked into Cormac's chamber. He shut the door as she walked in and walked back to his seat.

She looked around Cormac's chamber in amazement. He carefully watched her, wondering why she seemed so excited.

"Oh my goodness! Is that what I think it is, my Prince?" she asked, walking over to a sword that Cormac placed more like an antique on top of a cupboard beside his bed, close to the wall.

"What do you think it is?" he asked.

"The death raider, my Prince," she answered as she reached it.

"It is. How did you know about it?"

"What?" the maiden furrowed her brow at Cormac. "Who doesn't know about the Death Raider and all the victories it accomplished?"

"You'd be surprised that some vampires have no idea what it is, even if it is presented to them. I'm surprised you do know it. Impressed, maybe," Cormac nodded in admiration.

"You know, there are quite a number of us who love everything about being a vampire, my Prince. We even wish we could be one, and get to experience the gloriousness of living beyond the grasp of death," she said, turning sober as she looked directly at Cormac.

"Are there now?" Cormac asked, tilting his head a bit as he looked intently at her.

"Very much so, my Prince," she replied, gazing at him flirtatiously as she gracefully walked toward him.

Cormac smiled as he was honestly fascinated by her. She got quite close to him and was daring enough to gently caress the back of her hand against his neck, running it up to his face, feeling his soft facial hair. Cormac smiled shaking his head.

"You don't seem like the regular humans I've met. What's your name?"

"Mm, my name. Why would you care to know it, my Prince? I'm just an ordinary girl," she responded.

Cormac chuckled softly, seeing that she teasing him. So he decided to indulge her.

"I can tell that you're no ordinary girl," he said.

"How would you know that, my Lord?" she asked, standing right in front of him.

"Your hands betray your claims. An ordinary human girl wouldn't have such soft hands. It takes having a constant visit of a manicurist to have such hands, and only a select few humans can afford that."

"So can't one be born with such hands, and it remains that way despite going through hard labor, my Prince?" the maiden asked.

"The probability of that doesn't exist. I have lived long enough to come to that conclusion."

"Immortality," she remarked excitedly.

"And also, no ordinary human would carry herself the way you do. You were taught courtesy as required of a girl from a noble home like yours," Cormac stated. She smiled, saying nothing.

"And lastly, only noble entitled lots like you would have the kind of guts that you have. That's largely because you have interacted with noble vampires. So, how did I do?"

"I'm impressed, my Prince. You're way smarter in person," the maiden complimented, smiling. She had a beautiful smile. She smiled with her eyes as well.

"So, aren't you impressed enough to reveal your hallowed name?" Cormac asked as he leaned into his seat, crossing his legs. She smiled flirtatiously. She was hesitant a bit to reveal it.

"Olexa."

"Olexa, eh? It is a beautiful name." Cormac nodded. "Olexa, daughter of lord Nigel. Right?"

"You never cease to amaze me, Prince Cormac," she remarked, nodding. "How did you figure it out?" she asked, but Cormac just smiled.

"Hold on. You knew who I was all the while, but just played along?" Olexa asked, furrowing her brow.

"Let's just say, I was lucky with my guess about your lineage," Cormac answered. But Olexa raised her right brow, pursing her lips. She doubted his claims.

"Everything I deduced about you wasn't based on prior knowledge. I did all of that here. But as for your family, I might have heard about a certain nobleman's family of whom one of his daughters has the same desire as yours. So, I made an informed guess," Cormac clarified.

"Like I said, you're smart, Prince Cormac."

Cormac bowed slightly in acknowledgment of her compliment. She then walked over to Cormac and sat on his lap, locking her eyes with his.

Cormac's heart raced a bit as she sat on him.

"As you've already figured out, I intend to not just feed you as I was brought. Be my sire. Bless me with this gift you have. Let me yours, for eternity," Olexa said softly, keeping her eyes locked with his.

Cormac knew for certain he had encountered a seductress, someone who was his match.

"What about your family? Have they approved of this?" Cormac asked.

"I am but an asset to my family. They've made arrangements for me to be married off to an old runt in the Northeastern territory. He lost his wife two months ago. I'll be damned if I spend the rest of my life with him."

Cormac felt sorry for her as he heard what she said.

"But you can change all that. Turn me, and save me from a lifetime of regrets and unfulfilled dreams. No love awaits me if I am sent there. Please, Prince Cormac, grant me this one gift. Please," Olexa requested, almost tearfully.

She then moved aside her hair, revealing her neck. They were supple and appealing. Cormac could hear the blood coursing through her veins as her heart pounded. He actually contemplated going through with it.

Cormac went ahead to bite into Olexa's neck. She winced in pain for a bit, then she began moaning in pleasure as the feeling of ecstasy of Cormac's venom flowed into her. She grabbed him by the neck, smiling.

Having drank her blood for a bit, he stopped. The duo looked at each other for a bit. Olexa smiled as she saw that Cormac was willing to grant her request. Just as he was about to bite his hand to give her his blood to drink, he heard a knock on his door, followed by a familiar voice.

"Cormac?" Caspian called, knocking again. It seemed quite urgent. So he wiped his mouth and got up, heading to the door.

As he opened the door, he gasped at who he saw.

"Aleena?"
