Chapter 60 - The Hybrid Queen

Chapter 60

As the weeks passed, I grew humongous, I seriously could not see my feet any longer. Let alone try and put on socks or shoes on by myself. It was so frustrating, but each day, Killian was there to help me with anything that I needed. My feet were so bloody swollen half the time I could only wear slippers or sliders, and at least I could manage to put them on myself.

When Tasha went into labour, instead of being fearful of the shouts and screams, I was actually jealous that she would be able to put on proper shoes and see her feet again. I just kept wishing it would be me soon. Her and Gio had their beautiful little boy who had his daddies dark brown hair and olive skin, and his mummies clear blue eyes. They named him Carlos, and he was just adorable.

A week after that, we got the call that Gloria was in labour, with her also carrying twins they came slightly earlier than expected. Although Killian was worried about me travelling this close to my due date, I really wanted to be there, and they were sure I had at least another week even if I did go early. Between Brandon and I, we finally managed to convince him.

Ian and Natalia joined us to meet their new nephew and niece, we still had another 3 weeks until we found out what they and Jeff and Flora were having. It was really exciting to be meeting all of the new pups, and I could not wait to cuddle my new niece and nephew, I just hope Gloria did not suffer too much with having royal hybrids.

It seemed like I had nothing to worry about, after already having done it a few times before, it was like her body was so well adapted to it that it smother and quicker than Krista’s and Tashas’s labour. The pups were born before we even arrived, and we took the plane as soon as she went into labour.

Little Raphael was first born, and for the purposes of determining the heir, he was Callum’s blood, not that that mattered to anyone at all. 5 minutes later, Raquel was born. Both have the distinct scent of a vampire and lycan, so like me, they were true hybrids not favouring one side or the other.

Raphael looked like Callum’s double he was basically a carbon copy of him. Little Raquel’s bio mum must have been really pretty as she had these stunning azure blue eyes and a tuft of honey blonde hair. She did have plenty of Vlad’s features in there, too. She was a gorgeous little thing.

Brandon loved them. He is really enjoying all the babies being born and spends as much time as he can with them. It is a good thing. They are all either his family, or his future ranked members, or a bit of both, so it is great for him to build that bond early.

He also loves that Raphael and Raquel are hybrids like his brother and sister will be, he is absolutely fascinated by all of the different species. He wants to learn as much as he can about them. Lucky for us, he now has three different ones as family members, who are always willing to answer his questions and curiosities.

When we left dad’s Kingdom, I was basically on bed rest for the next 5 days. I was so big, and with me being so short, it was causing me a lot of pain and discomfort. The doctor was worried I would go into labour even earlier, so they wanted me in bed for at least the 5 days to try and keep them inside me for as long as they could.

Mama Ruby, daddy Cas, and my fae brothers came to stay as soon as I was back. Dad, muma Belle, and my other brothers and Vlad came with the pups when I was on day 4 of bed rest. Gloria was back fit and healthy, and the pups were doing great. They all knew I could go at any moment and wanted to be there for me.

It was good as I had lots of company between everyone and they all brought their new pups with them to keep me amused as I was stuck here. The other plus was that I always had someone to help me up when I got stuck on the bed and needed to pee. I tell you that happened far more often than I would have liked.

On the 5th day of bed rest, on one of my thousand trips to the bathroom, it finally happened, and my waters broke, and then the pain. Holy sh.it, I have had quite bad injuries in training, even some broken bones, and none of that prepared me for this. I can see why women threatened their men now because I was really not too pleased with Killian at the moment.

Well, it turned out I may have been in labour for a bit. The twinges and back pain that I had thought were from being stuck in the bed and being huge were actually early labour signs. I was pleasantly surprised to be just over halfway dilated at 6 cm.

I was so thankful it actually made me less pi.ssed off at Killian. Besides, he was so freaked out right now that it was hard to be angry at him. I think after Brandon’s birth going so wrong, it was making him even more worried than he would have been.

My body is strong and healthy, though, and we are in the hospital, so he has nothing to worry about. As Calla is lending me some of her strength, she is also talking down Zeus from his panic. If she could get him calm it would help calm down Killian, I was in not in the right state to try and reassure him just now, with the contractions coming faster and stronger all of the time.

3 hours in, and Killian was finally calmer. Zeus has gone from stressed to excited. Thank you, Calla, and I have no idea what he said to Killian, but whatever it was, it worked. He was saying all the right things and trying to be as supportive as possible as I was finally pushing one of them out.

15 minutes of painful pushing, and finally, a loud piercing cry fills the air, and for now, a brief reprieve from the pain as I hear Killian cry as he cuts the cord. Little Lilly is wrapped and placed on my chest so I can meet my daughter. She has a mountain of brown hair, the same shade as her dad’s and Brandon’s and when she blinks her eyes open, they are a beautiful purple showing her fae side.

I get 5 minutes with her before I am feeling the pain again, and the desperate need to push again. Killian quickly takes her off of me so she is safe while I bring her brother into the world. 10 minutes of pushing, and I can tell he is bigger than his sister as he finally comes into the world with his lungs just as strong as his sisters.

Chris Casius has the same gorgeous brown hair as the rest of them, with my purple eyes just like his twin sister. Where I can already tell Lilly takes after me in her size and features, except for his eyes Chris is another mini Killian, just like his big brother.

As soon as the nurse has helped me to clean up and Killian has told me a hundred times how much he loves me, how amazing I am, and how grateful he is. He goes and gets Brandon in. We had already decided that Brandon would meet them first before anyone else.

Once he has had a little bit of time with them, then everyone else can come in. I know they will be desperate to meet them, so it is just 5 minutes for Brandon to meet them properly and have just us together as a family before the madness begins.

Brandon is straight up on the bed beside me, giving me a hug and a kiss before we introduce him to his siblings. Lilly looks tiny next to Chris, we let Brandon hold both of them, helping him to support their heads. You can see the love he has for them straight away

I am going to enjoy this moment as much as I can before the room fills up and pass the baby starts. A nurse kindly offers to take our picture for us, I pass the phone, not really caring how awful I must look right now as she takes several pictures.

I am so glad she offered, so we always have this moment captured, our little family of 5’s first picture together. She has even gotten a couple in that is zoomed in on just Brandon holding his brother and sister. I will definitely be having that one framed, and I don’t look as bad as I thought, go to love those lycan genes, they really do help you recover quickly and you don’t look nearly as awful as you should.
