Sarah wakes me up shaking my arm. I sit up quick, she folds over trying to stay upright. She is having labour pains, we are supposed to be going in tomorrow for a scheduled c-section. Sarah is showered and dressed, the bags are sitting by the damn door.

"Why didn't you wake me up earlier?" I sit up and she folds over again. "I'm sorry, I am up, we are leaving!"

I hop out of bed and grab my damn shoes. I mindlink Alex....."Mom is in labour, meet us downstairs in two minutes!!!".

I stand up and Alex is already at the door, dressed. "I have been sleeping in my clothes just in case!" she smiles.

"Grab the bags!" I instruct as I lift Sarah up and carry her out to the car.

It's the middle of the night, streets are empty. I dial Doctor Moreno, he answers after the third ring, he sounds sleepy. "Dr Moreno, Jackson Smith, my mate Sarah is in labour!"

Sarah grunts and grips the door tight. "Water broke an hour and half ago and contractions are about five minutes apart."

"I will meet you at the hospital!"

"I already mindlinked Aidan!" says Alex.

I call Zack and tell him to bring Aidan from camp. He says he will mindlink everyone. Alex says she already called my dad. I didn't even hear her do that. Sarah is so cool and collected, wincing between contractions. It's not supposed to happen this way.

I park, run out of the car and pick Sarah up out if her seat. Alex follows behind us as I speed walk toward the hospital. "This is so much better than last time!" laughs Sarah.

"Are you making jokes while you are in labour. You are something else!" I kiss her forehead.

Nurses approach us and I give them the details. They try to put Sarah in a wheelchair, I refuse. They lead us to a room and I set her down on a bed, Dr Moreno rushes in. They are hooking Sarah up to cables and monitors and whatever the fuck else. The doctor checks her, she is fully dilated. Nurses pull up the ultrasound machine, all the babies are in the right direction.

"I don't want the c-section. I am ready to push!" Sarah says.

Doctor Moreno looks at Sarah with worry. "I can do this!" she insists.

They set Sarah up, a nurse brings Alex in. I hold Sarah's hand, Alex on the other side. They tell her to push and she does, I am so amazed at her. She doesn't even make a peep. Sarah is breathing and pushing like it's nothing. It's chaotic and she is the pilar in the middle standing still and holding it all down. Doctor Moreno calls me over to look and see my third kid enter the world. Holy fucking shit, it's kind of scary maybe I shouldn't have looked. I don't regret it one bit, I missed out on Alex and Aidan and these four I am going to watch.

"Are you ok Jackson?" Sarah asks me. "Dr Moreno he looks pale!"

Dr Moreno laughs at her. "Dad is ok, baby boy number one."

A nurse holds the baby from the doctor and they ask me to cut the cord. I have Sarah's leg and hand.

"Here comes baby two!" says the doctor. Alex gets brave and moves to watch her sibling come out with me. I cut the cord again.

"I am never having babies!!!" announces Alex.

"Another boy!!!"

The baby gets handed to a nurse because number three is already peeking out. I can't even comprehend what is happening. I cut the cord and then again. I lean down and kiss Sarah's forehead, she looks so tired. Three babies are cleaned up and wrapped up like little burritos. The nurses say they are healthy, tiny bundles of joy, thick black hair on their little heads.

"Last one! Push for me Sarah!"

Sarah leans forward and lets out a quiet huff and baby four screams. Tears are streaming down her face and I can't help but cry too. This was the most insane thing I have ever experienced. Nothing compares to the joy I feel watching my kids being born.

"Alex!!!" says Dr Moreno. "You will remain the only girl! We have another boy!"

"Ok now comes the hard part, let's get this placenta out. Push for me Sarah!"

What comes next...nope nope I did not need to see that. Back to my wife I go. "Don't look Alex!" Sarah laughs, she is laughing. I am no longer sure she is even human, she is so amazing.

They are cleaning Sarah up. She leans back and her eyes close. "I am so tired!"

"What you are is amazing!!!"

"Dad, come meet your four sons!" says one of the nurses.

The nurse hands me baby four. His little eyes open and they are green. He closes his eyes and falls asleep like his brothers. "We are going to let mom sleep and when they wake up, we will wake her to feed them. I think the rest of your family is out in the waiting room. Go visit and come back!" she says.

I give Sarah another kiss on the forehead and take Alex's hand. We exit the room and head for the waiting area.

Everyone is seated, my dad, uncle, my boys, Kelly, Kat and Mina. Aidan is wearing the floor down. He looks up and sees me, his eyes well up.

"Sarah is resting, she was astonishing. We have four boys! They are in the nursery if you all want to see them!" I smile through tears.

Aidan runs up to me and hugs me. "I am sorry I missed it."

"Don't be! It was....I am never having kids or sex for that matter!" exhales Alex.

My father congratulates me as we look over the four little burritos, all in one bassinet, snuggled up against each other.

"They all have black hair and green eyes!" says Alex. "I am so jealous. I want green eyes!"

I hug Alex. "I am so happy you are the only girl!"
