The Truth

The Truth
Natalie enters the coffee shop, where she will meet the spy she hired to investigate Cora. She removes her sunglasses as soon as she enters the shop and starts to explore her surroundings until she sees a man wearing a suit sitting in the last row of the restaurant reading a newspaper. She goes near that man and sits in front of him. The man puts down the newspaper and looks at Natalie.
“I'm Glad you’re here now,” the man said, smiling at her before starting to get his case.
“Thank you for waiting. I just did some stuff before I went here,” she said, watching the man put some envelopes in front of them and put the case back beside him.
“Is this all the information you gather?” She asked while looking at that envelope; the man nodded at her as soon as she looked at that man.
“It contains a lot of information you needed to tell her,” the man said and started to open the envelope. He put some paper in front of Natalie, and those papers contained pictures.
“This is his ex-husband who died because of an accident.” He said and looked at Natalie. “Based on the information I gathered, the car accident happened 5 years ago, 1 year after Cora married Elijah; she’s pregnant during that time and based on the information I got, Elijah and Cora had a fight during that time before the accident happened.” He said, so Natalie frowned while looking at those pictures.
“Elijah was the Alpha at that time, but then this woman, Victoria Villamore, came.” He said, pointing his hand towards the picture of Victoria.
“This is Cora’s mother,” Natalie said. The man nodded and continued explaining.
“During that day, Victoria exerted some pressure on Cora to convince Elijah to give all his property to her daughter, and that is the start of their argument.” The man said, so Natalie looked at him.
“Then, what happened next?” she asked, and the man turned the paper to the next page.
“This is Oliver Peter; he’s the suspect of sabotaging Elijah’s car break; he was sentenced to lifetime imprisonment and no bale.” The man looks at Natalie after. “I came to the jail where he is and ask things to him, he admitted things to me that Cora is the one whose behind of Elijah’s death.” Natalie was stunned because of what she heard.
“Really? How did that happen? Do we have proof?” she asked. The man took something from his case; it was a tape recorder.
“This is a tape recorder. I got this from his house when he let me go there and search for it. In this tape recorder, he recorded his conversation with Cora during the day that she hired him to sabotage Elijah’s car break.” The man said, so Natalie swallowed while looking at the tape recorder in front of her.
“According to Oliver, Elijah didn’t want to put her name on his properties and money because Elijah wanted to give those things to Norwan, his brother.” Natalie became speechless after hearing what the man said. Elijah is indeed kind; she knows that. Even though she’s been with him for a short time, she knows how very kind and humble Elijah is. He’s the one who’s always protecting Natalie from the critiques that she’s receiving from Amanda, their mom.
“I never knew that Cora was this kind of woman who would do anything to have money.” She whispers and looks at the man in front of her.
“I need to tell this to Norwan. For sure, he will get mad because of this,” she said. The man nodded at her, but before she stood, the man stopped her.
“There are more, Ms. Natalie.” He said, and she looked at him and sat once again. She waited for the man who was getting something from his case and then watched him put a picture in front of her.
“This is one of Norwan’s maids.” She said while looking at the picture. She looked up again with her frowning brows.
“Amelia Lee, she resigned as Norwan’s maid around a year ago after you left the mansion.” The man said, so Natalie stopped for a second.
“And?”
“She’s the one who saw what happened between you and Cora at the cliff.” Natalie was once again stunned by his words.
“She does?” She asks, and the man nods at her.
“I investigate things that you wanted to learn, and I learn about her from her old friend, Divina, who is also working at Norwan as a maid. She told the same things to Amelia, but this is what she heard from Cora while serving her food.” The man grabs another tape recorder from his bag and plays it to Natalie.
“Are we really fast here?” Divina ask.
“Yeah. I just wanted to hear some things from you.”
“Okay, please be quick, Ma’am Cora will surely scold me if she learn that I am not working.”
“What did you heard from Cora while you’re serving her a food after the accident happened?”
“Well, she said so many things that day, but there is one line of her that won’t stop hunting my mind, she said she finally get Ma’am Natalie out of Sir Norwan’s life and finally Ma’am Natalie left the mansion, she even thank herself because she’s good in crying.”
“Did she really lost a baby during that day?”
“No, The doctor who went here to help check her is her friend who is pretending as a doctor, I know it because I seen her multiple times with that person when Sir Norwan is not around.”
The recording tape ends, and Natalie is stunned in anger because of what she hears.
“She fooled everyone, even me.” She said and looked at the man.
“I suggest you talk to those people, Divina and Amelia, to learn the truth by yourself.” The man said, and he started to fix his things. He put all his things back in his case and gave them to Natalie.
“My mission here is done. It’s up to you now to make Norwan believe in your words,” the man said before he left Natalie.
Natalie was left alone in the shop, flinching her hands in anger.
“I will make that Cora pay what she did to me.”
