Chapter 69 Don't Cross Your Boundaries

Chapter 69 Don't Cross Your Boundaries

Quinn's POV

"Dylan probably overslept. He said he was very sleepy earlier."

I glanced at Grayson through the elevator wall. He was currently looking at me with his body leaning back. And I honestly don't know what he meant by telling me that.

"Maybe Dylan can't be woken up, and you can wait for him while resting too. It looks like he's very tired, I can't bear to wake him up."

Oh now I know what Grayson meant. He gave me that information because he wanted me to stay longer. He just didn't know that Dylan was easy to wake up. Tsk. What a wasted effort.

I crossed my arms and sighed. "I'll wake him up if you don't have the heart."

"No, I mean you can not wake him up but wait for him to wake up on his own."

I laughed inwardly. It was funny how he was now trying to hold me back at all costs from leaving. Whereas just a few days ago he yelled at me, doubted me, and even kicked me out.

Maybe all men are like that or maybe I was just unlucky to meet two men who couldn't appreciate me properly. It seemed like meeting Owen and Grayson was something I regretted because in the end they only inflicted wounds instead of giving me the happiness I was looking for.

But instead of giving another reply, I chose to remain silent until the elevator doors opened. This time I let Grayson walk first to open the door. Once he had opened the door, I barged straight in.

Please don't say I'm rude. He had invited me and I wasn't here to make up with him so I didn't need to make small talk or say thank you just because he opened the door for me.

I walked into his room because I thought Dylan was there. But it was empty, dark, and... dusty? Eww, even the door is so dirty.

Didn't he clean this place or something?

"Sorry but Dylan is in another room. On the second floor."

I turned around, rolled my eyeballs, and passed Grayson by nudging his shoulder. "I know," I replied embarrassed.

I had never been in any other room in his penthouse besides his room and the dining room. But I also didn't want to look lost so I walked confidently in the direction I believed was right.

"Quinn, I'm sorry you're going the wrong way. The stairs to the second floor are on the right, not over there."

Oh shit. Why the hell do I have to be told things like this!

Already the wrong room and now the wrong direction of the stairs. Ugh, how embarrassing! Ruined my cool image.

"Dylan is in the room with the white door."

I looked back as I saw Grayson's shadow on the staircase divider glass. "What are you doing?"

"Escorting you so you don't get lost again."

I cursed at myself.  Grayson really ruined my mood. He shouldn't have emphasized it so my embarrassment wouldn't grow. Because I already wanted to leave right now rather than endure the embarrassment any longer.

"I know colors, so I know the door you're referring to. So there's no need to walk me," I said firmly.

"Really?"

I climbed the stairs while stomping my feet hard on each step. "Although I haven't been able to go to college as high as your degree, but I'm not colorblind," I replied curtly.

"That's not what I meant, Quinn. But all the doors on the second floor are white."

Oh that's right. All the doors here are the same color, white, without exception. And with such similarities, I had no idea which door Dylan was on.

Suddenly Grayson pointed to the door at the end, near the pool. "Dylan's in there."

I just mumbled and went there. Meanwhile, Grayson still seemed to be following me. Not wanting to bother with that, I opened the door and found Dylan asleep on the bed.

How could he sleep while his sister was looking for him in frustration!

But even so, I was also relieved to see Dylan again. It's just that maybe what I didn't expect was to find him at Grayson's penthouse.

"Turns out he’s asleep," Grayson said quietly. He was already beside me.

Not wanting to be here any longer, I walked quickly to Dylan and pulled the blanket that covered his body up to his neck. I pushed the blanket aside and helped him to sit up.

Dylan opened his eyes and widened. Maybe he was surprised that I was already here or maybe he just didn't know I was coming to get him.

"Quinn," he said. He then looked at me and Grayson in turn.

"We're going home," I said firmly, not taking no for an answer.

"Wait, home where? Do we have a place to stay?"

"You…” I took a deep breath to calm myself down. Then I turned to look at Grayson. "Can you come out? I want to have a one-on-one talk with my brother."

"Ah sure. I'll come out. There's no rush," he replied. There was no sign of objection at all.

Only then did I give Dylan a sharp look. "What are you doing, Dylan! Why are you coming to a guy who's not my boss anymore? What are you really thinking? I really don't understand."

Dylan pulled my hand until I was sitting on the bed. "I was trying to save you."

"From who?"

"Owen. You think I don't know the real reason you broke up with that asshole? I already know Quinn. That's why I left because I didn't want to live there anymore."

"But that doesn't give you the right to come here and ask Grayson for help!" I snapped.

"I didn't come here. I met him at the S-T Arena. And Grayson himself brought me here. So it wasn't my request."

I sighed and rubbed my temples. "Okay now that I've found you. We'll go."

Dylan removed my hand from his. "Where are you going? We don't have a home right now. We'll just be homeless if we leave here."

"But that doesn't mean you have to stay here, Dylan. I have no more business with Grayson. So let's go."

"I don't want to. You guys still love each other, right? What's so hard about getting back together?"

I slapped Dylan. It was a reflex because his words really offended me. But a second later I felt an overwhelming sense of regret.

"Dylan, sorry... I'm sorry." I cupped Dylan's cheek but he turned his face away and brushed off my hand.

"I'm really sorry. I didn't mean to hurt you." I knelt beside the bed while trying to get him to look at me again. "Dylan, don't ignore me."

"I'm trying to reunite you with Grayson because you guys still like each other. I was just trying to make up for your fractured relationship, not to curry favor with him. But you slapped me instead. I'm disappointed in you, Quinn."
