Chapter 24 Do It For Me
Quinn's POV
When I opened my eyes, I saw the roof of the car. Then I also smelled the familiar scent of coffee, Grayson's car fragrance.
Sure enough, when I turned my head, I found Grayson beside me, sitting in the driving seat with his feet on the wheel, watching a replay game on his phone.
Wait, did he choose to wait for me to wake up instead of waking me up?
"Are you awake?"
I looked out the window. It's already in front of my new flat.
"Did I faint again?" I asked carefully.
Grayson then turned off his phone and put it in his pocket. "No, you didn't. You did well this time." Then he suddenly ruffled my hair lightly.
Because of that, suddenly my heart was beating fast. Also in my stomach felt like there were butterflies flying.
"How long has it been?"
Grayson stretched his arms while yawning. "About two hours."
"Two hours?" I said in disbelief.
"That's how it is. After the sex ends, you just sleep. So I drove you home. Turns out you were still sleeping when we got there."
I immediately looked at my clothes which were neatly back on my body. I also didn't feel mine getting wet again down there.
"I cleaned it up with a tissue if you're curious."
I gaped, looking at him in disbelief. "Why did you do that?"
Grayson tapped my head suddenly. "Look Quinn, I'm not some jerk who just leaves his partner after sex," he said with a chuckle. "I made the mess anyway, so I should clean up."
There was some truth to that, too, because I was the one who left Grayson several times after sex.
But I didn't fully agree that Grayson wasn't a jerk, he was too, but half of it. Because the other half is covered by his strengths.
"Why didn't you wake me up when we arrived?" I asked later. "That way you could go home right away."
"I wasn't waiting for you anyway. You saw me watching the replay of my game earlier."
I furrowed my eyebrows. It didn't look like it.
He then opened the car door.
"Where are you going?" I asked because I should be the one getting out of the car, not him.
"Can you lift the fridge?" He chuckled. "It's still at your front door. I'll bring it into your flat."
Oh my gosh, yes the fridge!
It arrived so quickly. I don't think it's been 5 hours since he placed the order.
I finally rushed out and caught up with Grayson. Because as the owner of the house, I was the one who had to let him in, not the other way around.
My flat is now on the second floor of this three-story building. So it didn't take long for us to see the fridge that turned out to be two meters high right blocking the door.
I ran over and held onto it while shaking my head. "This is why I asked you to ask me first. Look, this giant thing is going to hit the roof."
I sighed. Now how to get that thing in? I was confused too.
"I already figured that out. The fridge can still fit inside. So move aside, I'll put it in."
Grayson pushed me aside and he easily lifted the fridge to the side so it wasn't blocking the door anymore.
I was really shocked to see him. He lifted the heavy fridge like he was lifting a light box. When he did it, it looked light when I'm sure it was really heavy.
I know that Grayson's strength can't be compared to ordinary humans, it's just that it's too amazing to see in person.
"What are you waiting for? Hurry up and open the door."
"Uh? Ah, yes, just a moment."
I hastily entered the password while covering it with my hand so Grayson couldn't see it.
The door burst open and I darted in.
I hurriedly made an empty space for the fridge by setting aside other things temporarily in front of the TV.
Honestly, I haven't had time to organize my stuff yet because moving time is very short. Not to mention I also have to prepare for the game, so this room still looks very messy.
I then saw Grayson's head peeking in from the door. "Can I put it in now?"
"Yes, but please be careful," I said rather loudly.
I thought Grayson was going to push the fridge, but what happened was completely out of the blue.
Grayson tilted the fridge, carried it like it was groceries, and then set it back up in the place I had prepared.
I shook my head at his behavior. Maybe he adheres to the principle that if there's a harder method, why should he choose something easy. That's probably how it was.
He then patted his hand. "How is it, is it right?"
I tried to look from a little further away. "I think it's a little to the right," I commented later.
Grayson lifted the fridge again and placed it as I directed, instead of pushing it from the side.
"You want to show off your strength, huh?"
He looked at me and rolled his eyes. "The machine will break if you move it."
Ha? Really? I didn't know there was such a thing. I thought it was the same whether it was shifted or lifted.
I was curious, so I set out to prove it myself. I intended to move the fridge.
But because of the weight, my body actually bounced backwards, crashing into the cupboard that had a pile of things on it.
I lost my balance, and the things on top of the cupboard swayed and fell.
Damn. I was going to fall and be crushed by those things. I couldn't dodge anymore.
But suddenly Grayson jumped at me. Make me close my eyes and feel my body being pushed back.
And sure enough, a few seconds later I fell. But not to the floor, but to Grayson's body. We both fell together and he let his back hit the floor instead of my body.
"Are you okay?" I asked worriedly. Because just now I heard a very loud 'boom' sound, like iron being thrown from a tall building.
A moment later Grayson reversed our position. He looked into my eyes and nodded. "Next time be careful of your surroundings."
I felt my eyes glaze over. I was honestly afraid something would happen to him. He's an asset to the country, if he got hurt from helping me, then I would be the one to blame, and I would feel very guilty.
"I'm not scolding you. I'm just advising you," Grayson said as he wiped away my tears that had already fallen.
I turned my face away, intending to avoid his gaze.
However, I saw something else instead.
I saw an old lady standing at the door, looking at me and Grayson.
I reflexively screamed which made Grayson reflexively move away from my body. It seemed like he was just as surprised.
I immediately fixed my hair and stood up. Meanwhile, Grayson was still sitting with a really annoyed look on his face.
I approached the old lady and tried to look friendly since she seemed to be my flat's neighbor.
"Good evening, I'm Quinn, the new resident." I extended my hand, intending to shake.
But instead, the old lady looked behind me while girdling her loins. She then pointed at Grayson. "Hey young man!" she said loudly.
I covered my mouth with my hand. Oh no, looks like there's going to be trouble here.
"You have to be gentle with your partner! She had to scream because of you and I had to hear it!" She said, "Keep your voice down. I know you're a new couple, but don't let your neighbors hear what's going on in this room. Do you understand?"
I locked eyes with Grayson. A few moments later we both laughed.
This is really funny. I think this old lady misunderstood us. Maybe she thought Grayson and I were having sex instead of trying to figure out how to get the two-meter fridge in here.
Trying to hold back my laughter, I tried to give an explanation. "I'm sorry that we were noisy. But what you saw is not what actually happened. I almost fell down and he helped me. That's how it happened."
She turned her face to the side. "Never mind. Just don't do it again. I'll go back to my room. I was young once too."
I looked at Grayson to ask him to give an explanation as well. But instead, he shrugged his shoulders, letting the grannies walk away.
Soon I heard the door slam.
I sighed and closed the door and locked it. I glared at Grayson. "You should come explain what happened."
"I won't. It's a waste of time."
I stomped my foot. "She’s misunderstood now."
"Let it go. It's her own fault for wondering about other people's business."
Grayson laid his back on the floor with his legs crossed. He then wiggled his feet. "Change your pose. You're making me think of that old lady."
