Chapter 172 If He Want, He Would (End)
Quinn attended Grayson's last game of the season without any suspicion. She came with her college friends and sat in the stand as usual.
But this time she noticed a small change, where her seat was not in the top row, but in the middle. From her current position, Quinn could see Grayson more clearly.
Of course, she was very proud to be able to attend her boyfriend's games every season. This time, she was even more confident that her boyfriend's team would win again, even though today's game hadn't started yet.
Quinn was so confident in Grayson that when her friends were excitedly debating who would win, Quinn confidently replied, "Frost Maple and Grayson Talon."
As a result of that answer, they fell silent but also agreed.
Finally, the figure Quinn had been waiting for came out onto the rink. Yes, who else but Grayson.
But this time, Quinn felt that there was something different about Grayson. His eyes were sparkling and shining.
In her mind, Quinn thought hard and guessed what made her boyfriend so happy.
But before she could find the reason, the game started. As a result, Quinn chose to enjoy Grayson's last game of the season rather than think about something that might not be true.
Quinn cheered like the others. She was really good at blending in.
Every second was very exciting. Quinn made eye contact with Grayson several times and Grayson did not hesitate to wave at her.
This made Quinn immediately fall silent and pretend to look around. At first, she thought Grayson was greeting his fans. Only when she realized that Grayson was greeting her did she immediately fall silent.
Quinn's heart was beating very fast. She glanced at her friends several times to see if they had noticed too. Fortunately, no one had.
But that wasn't the end, because after Grayson scored the final goal, there were even more surprises.
That score determined that Grayson's team would win again this season. So the Frost Maple team members were extremely happy. They immediately jumped onto the rink. Everyone surrounded Grayson and hugged each other to express their happiness.
Not only the players and coaches, but all the fans also joined in the celebration. Even the players' families came down to the rink to hug their pride and joy.
There was only one player whose family didn't come to every session. And yes, that was Grayson.
Seeing this, Quinn actually felt a pang of pity in her heart. She really wanted to run and hug Grayson, who had tried so hard to get to this point. However, she also thought that it would only reveal their relationship to the public.
So Quinn could only wave her hand like the other fans while congratulating him from a distance.
And the surprising thing was, this time Grayson reached out his hand towards Quinn. It was definitely specific to one person, Quinn. So of course it caught everyone's attention.
Even the cameramen and spotlights were now focused on the audience, looking for the person Grayson was pointing at.
From that close distance, Quinn could hear Grayson say, "Come here, my Quinn. I want to introduce you to everyone now. I think this is the right time. Don't be afraid, I'll take responsibility for everything."
Quinn, who had been relaxed at first, was now completely panicked. Especially since the spotlights and cameras were about to move in her direction. Meanwhile, Grayson showed no intention of lowering or changing the direction of his hand.
After careful consideration and feeling reckless and resigned, Quinn finally chose to stand up. She decided to leave her seat and walk down the stairs toward Grayson.
And that was when everyone's attention was focused on her, without exception.
With cold palms, Quinn tried to remain calm as she descended the stairs. She counted on her heart to reduce her nervousness.
Meanwhile, Grayson began to move aside to pick up Quinn. He smiled broadly when Quinn finally accepted his hand.
Not stopping there, Grayson easily lifted Quinn and carried her to the center of the rink.
This elicited an extraordinary reaction from everyone in the arena. For the first and only time, the most famous ice hockey star, Grayson Wyatt Talon, introduced his girlfriend to the public. He didn't hold back, choosing an extreme method that everyone would surely remember.
Meanwhile, Quinn, who finally dared to take this big step, decided to put her arms around Grayson's neck.
Grayson leaned down, bringing his nose close to Quinn's. He then smiled. "Are you mad that I did this?"
Quinn pursed her lips. "I'm just... surprised. I never thought you would make such a reckless decision."
"But this is just the beginning," said Grayson. He smiled mysteriously.
Another unexpected thing happened. He quietly took out a ring box and knelt in front of Quinn.
Being proposed to on the rink in front of thousands of people was certainly not something Quinn had ever imagined. Therefore, she covered her mouth with both hands while looking at Grayson with teary eyes.
"What are you doing?" she asked softly.
"I am proposing to you. Will you be my wife, Quinn Blair Roux?"
Suddenly, the arena became the liveliest place in town. Everyone cheered in unison for Quinn to accept Grayson's proposal.
"Gray Bear, I'm embarrassed."
Grayson didn't move, he was still holding the open ring box, waiting for Quinn to accept his proposal. "But you're not rejecting me, right?"
Quinn shook her head. "I love you, very much."
"I love you very much too, Quinny. So, do you wanna spend the rest of your life with me?"
Quinn was silent for a moment, wrestling with her heart and mind.
Everyone waited for her answer, especially Grayson.
"Yes, I want."
Upon hearing her answer, Grayson finally slipped the ring onto Quinn's finger. After that, he kissed Quinn's hand gently.
Meanwhile, Quinn gently pulled Grayson's hand so he would stand up. She stared intently into the eyes of the man who had been part of her life's story for the past few years. "Thank you for sticking with me."
Grayson kissed the forehead of the woman he loved for a long time. "Thank you for choosing me too. I love you, my Quinn.”
