Chapter 143 Please Don't Fight
Quinn's POV
Owen? What is he doing here? Oh, don't tell me he's stalking me.
"Who are you?" Hanz asked coldly. His breathing was rapid.
Owen laughed sarcastically. "Me? I'm..." Owen glanced at me. "I'm her bestfriend."
Now it was my turn to be stunned. How could it not be? This was the first time Owen had introduced himself as anything other than my ex-boyfriend to people he met after we broke up. Could he be drunk?
"Oh, just a friend. Then you have no right to interfere in our business," Hanz said arrogantly.
Owen suddenly pulled my arm until I was now beside him. "Precisely because I'm her bestfriend, I can interfere. You're bothering my bestfriend, so I'm warning you to stop."
Hanz put his hands on his hips and ran his fingers through his hair. "How do you know Quinn is bothered by me?" He then turned to me. "You're not bothered, are you, Quinn?"
Oh no, this was a very tricky moment. I could guess that if I answered something Hanz didn't want to hear, he might cancel his plan to bring me to my mother. But if I defended Hanz, Owen would definitely wonder about my relationship with Grayson.
I didn't want Owen to think that my relationship with Grayson was strained because of this incident. I also didn't want Hanz to cancel our agreement.
Oh MoonGoddess, help me, please.
"She’s silent, which means it's true," Owen concluded.
"You can't decide that based on your personal observation... oh, what's your name?"
"Owen Willow Drew," Owen replied firmly.
Hanz's eyes widened. "You're the heir to Drew Law & Firm?"
Now Owen folded his arms. "Yes. And I can report you for coercion. So, are you still going to insist on touching my besrfriend without her consent, Mr. Miller?"
Hanz froze. He opened his mouth but didn't say anything.
Oh yeah, Owen is finally useful for once. Well, even though I do hate him, at least this time he saved me from an unfavorable situation.
"Now, go back to your table, Hanz. Or if you have any shame, leave this restaurant with your rude friends." Owen waved his hand in the air.
"You can't sue me without evidence, little Mr. Drew."
Owen clenched his jaw. He stepped forward. "I have plenty of witnesses. Everyone here, right now, can be a witness."
Hanz held back his laughter. "Then I can also hire a lawyer from a law firm that's much better than yours. And another thing, you don't own this restaurant, so you have no right to kick me out." Hanz pushed Owen's shoulder.
That made Owen act, and he pushed Hanz back.
Sensing trouble, I quickly stood between them before Hanz could do anything else. I spread my arms so that they both moved away from each other.
"If you want to fight, don't do it here. This is my workplace. Please do it anywhere else but here!"
"Fuck you, Owen!" Hanz cursed.
Because of that curse, more and more customers were paying attention to us. Earlier it was just a few people, but now it was everyone.
Oh my gosh, these two men were really giving me a headache. I really wanted to kick their asses out of this world and onto Mars. I wanted them to get out of my sight!
"Hanz, that's enough!" I finally said.
"Owen, you too, stop it."
Hanz smiled crookedly. "Did you hear that, Owen? Quinn told you to stop picking a fight."
"And he told you too, idiot," Owen replied just as fiercely.
If this went on too long, the restaurant would be crowded not with customers but with people who wanted to watch a fight between the heir to Drew Law & Firm and the rookie athlete who was currently all the rage. In other words, I would be creating new problems for Ema!
I decided to take a deep breath and look for Ema with my eyes. And when I found her, I signaled with my hand, pointing at Owen and Hanz. Ema nodded.
After that, I didn't hesitate to drag them both out of the restaurant. I took them to a quieter alley between buildings.
Only then did I vent my anger. I really showed them this time.
"Are you two children?" I asked very loudly.
"If in the past—"
"Don't answer!" I snapped at Hanz.
I closed my eyes for a moment while exhaling roughly. "Just so you know, what you did was childish. You're arguing like children. Your emotions are all over the place. And you shouldn't solve problems with violence. Do you understand?"
They both looked at me without blinking. They were like 5-year-olds who had just been separated by their mother from a fight. And I was like their mother! Damn it.
I rolled up the sleeves of my uniform. "Let me explain. Hanz and I aren't at odds, but I also don't like it when he tries to touch me. Owen, I really appreciate your concern, but this doesn't need to go to court. I need Hanz to apologize to me, and that's enough. Unless he does it again, then please report him without hesitation."
"He has to apologize to me too, Quinn," Owen said coldly.
"What? I didn't even do anything wrong to you," Hanz protested.
"You pushed me first if you've forgotten."
Owen's response almost made Hanz push him again. Fortunately, I quickly put my fist forward, preventing another shoving match.
"Hanz, you have to apologize to me. After that, we'll end all this," I said firmly.
Hanz looked at me and Owen alternately. He was silent for a long time. But his hands and feet couldn't stay still.
"You don't want to? Okay, maybe I should forget—"
"Okay, okay! I'm sorry, Quinn." Hanz finally spoke up.
"That's not sincere," Owen said.
"You!"
I massaged my temples because I was starting to feel dizzy. "Repeat it, Hanz."
Hanz glared at me with his palms open. But then he sighed and did as I asked.
"Quinn, I'm sorry for trying to touch you," Hanz said finally.
"Apologize to your friends for saying inappropriate things to Quinn. I heard them earlier," Owen added.
Hanz sighed heavily and turned his face away. "I'm sorry for my friends too."
I sighed softly. "Okay, I forgive you. But not next time."
Hanz stuck his tongue out at Owen. "Satisfied?"
Owen clenched his fist in the air. I was ready to stop him if he hit anyone.
But before any of that happened, someone uninvited, whom I thought would arrive in the afternoon, appeared with a voice that made my heart race.
"Get away from my woman," Grayson said coldly, deeply, and firmly.
