Chapter 133 New Family
Quinn's POV
Did I hear that right? Did those words really come out of the mouth of Mr. Talon, who came to us a week ago and didn't approve of our relationship?
Oh, it felt so strange and happy at the same time.
I mean, it's strange to see them, who were initially reported to be estranged, turn out to be this close. And it's strange to see both of them oppose our relationship and now support us.
"That's right, you can call us that, sweetheart. Think us your parents too, it's fine," added Mrs. Talon.
The awkward atmosphere was broken by Grayson, who suddenly cleared his throat. He then approached the bed and put his arm around my waist with one hand while placing the other on his hip.
"There are two things you've forgotten," said Grayson.
Mrs. Talon approached. She pushed Grayson aside and took his place. She also held my hand tightly. "I want to apologize, both personally and on behalf of the Talon family. What we did to you was truly shameful. We are deeply sorry, sweetheart."
Mr. Talon then followed. He stood beside Mrs. Talon. "I also want to apologize personally. I am also very grateful for your generosity, Quinn. Thanks to you, I can be here now, with my wife, my child, and you."
The anger I felt towards them both just evaporated. Ever since I entered the operating room with Mr. Talon, all my anger seemed to have disappeared. So I completely forgave them both. All that remained now was a feeling of peace because everyone makes mistakes.
"You have the right to forgive us or not, sweetheart," said Mrs. Talon. She then stroked my hair. "We were really worried about seeing you in a coma after the surgery. And we are very grateful for the miracle that you are now back with us. And it seems like you've come back as a new Quinn. Am I right?"
I finally smiled. "You're right, Mrs. Talon, I mean, mum. I'm back with Stella."
"The wolf," added Grayson.
I also stroke Mrs. Talon's hands and smiled at Mr. Talon. "I've forgiven you, mum, and I've forgiven you too, dad."
Although it felt awkward, hearing those two words spoken from my mouth again after more than a decade, made me feel very happy.
I had almost forgotten how to call my parents because they had left me when I was a child. And now that I had the opportunity to use those two words again, of course I didn't refuse.
"You truly have a heart as vast as the ocean, sweetheart." Mrs. Talon then hugged me very tightly. Mr. Talon followed suit, hugging his wife from the side.
Oh, it felt like I had gained a new family. It felt like my sacrifice had not been in vain at all if the reward was this big.
I was very grateful to both of them for allowing me to call them my parents. And I was also very grateful to Grayson for giving me a complete family again.
"How are you feeling now? Is there anything you're complaining about, sweetheart?" asked Mrs. Talon.
"If anything hurts, I'll call the doctor," added Mr. Talon.
I smiled to reassure them both. "I'm fine, Dad, Mum. The doctor came and explained my condition. He even said I'm doing very well now."
"Okay, excuse me, everyone." Grayson suddenly stepped between them. "I'm still here if you guys forgot."
The three of us laughed. To be honest, I had forgotten that Grayson was still with us because he was isolated in the corner of the room.
Mr. Talon put his arm around Grayson's shoulder and pulled him closer to me. "You are my beloved son. Come here. Join us."
Grayson rolled his eyes. "It's like Quinn is your biological child and I'm your stepchild."
I chuckled. Grayson showed another side of himself that I had never seen before, which was being spoiled by his parents. It seemed that the nature of being the youngest child never left him.
Honestly, I also admired the generosity of this family. How they could accept each other after the huge waves that hit their family really amazed me.
They were able to resolve their misunderstandings well. They were willing to admit their mistakes to each other and fix them. And that, in my opinion, is the true meaning of family.
However, a feeling of regret also crossed my mind. If only Gerry were still here with us, maybe this would feel more complete. Maybe Grayson's happiness would be multiplied many times over.
"So how are you feeling, dad? What did the doctor say?" I asked curiously.
Mr. Talon looked at his wife and Grayson alternately, then smiled at me. "I accepted the donor well. I was also advised to be more careful now. Maybe it's time for me to follow Grayson's anti-alcohol and anti-smoking lifestyle."
"It should have been like that from the beginning," Grayson said.
"Grayson does have the healthiest lifestyle in our family," said Mrs. Talon. She then whispered in my ear. "So please understand why he is so strong."
I felt my cheeks flush again. This time, I tried to hide it by pushing my hair forward.
"What did you say, ma?" asked Grayson. He pushed his mother aside and joined me on the bed. Then he hugged me tightly, like a baby he was trying to hold.
Mrs. Talon winked at me. "You don't need to know, Grayson. It's our secret."
Although I was embarrassed to admit it, Grayson was indeed very strong in bed. He seemed to never get tired. And I completely agreed with Mrs. Talon this time.
"All right. It looks like we can't stay here long. Right, honey?" Mr. Talon caught Mrs. Talon in his arms.
"You're right, darling. Let's let the two of them finish missing each other," replied Mrs. Talon.
"It's not like that, mum—"
"Yes. It's better if you two leave immediately so we can continue what we were doing earlier," Grayson interjected. He then waved his hand in the air, telling them to leave.
I pinched his waist to stop him. I thought it was rude.
But Grayson was stubborn, pretending not to hear me. He moved his hand even faster.
They then chuckled and said goodbye.
I couldn't stop them because as soon as the door closed, Grayson pinned me down under his body.
His eyes sparkled with a mysterious smile on his lips. "Should we continue?"
I played with my fingers and turned my face away. "Just be gentle."
