Chapter 118 We're Not Going Anywhere

Chapter 118 We're Not Going Anywhere
Quinn's POV

My body refused to cooperate when Mr. Talon suddenly entered the room. My brain wanted me to get away from Grayson immediately, but my body remained frozen in place like a statue.

I didn't even know what to say to Mr. Talon. Seeing him standing there with a red face and clenched fists was truly intimidating.

And in this first meeting with him, I finally realised where Grayson's intimidating and cold aura came from. It was none other than his own father!

Mr. Talon walked closer until he was finally near us. He then placed the gift he was carrying on the table.

Grayson, who had been lying face down, immediately straightened his clothes and stood up.

As for me, I was confused about whether to sit or stand. But then when I tried to stand up, Grayson held my shoulder so I sat back down.

"She's not a minor. Her name is Quinn, 21 years old, my girlfriend. And this is none of your business. So once you're done with your business, please leave."

I held Grayson's fingers, calming him down.

Seeing the two of them at odds like this felt very tense. The thing was, they were both Alphas. If they ended up fighting, I didn't know how I would separate them.

"Young girls aren't your type. You like women your own age or like Kelly, who is older than you."

Mr. Talon's explanation made me look at Grayson.

This was the first time I had heard about this. I really had no idea that Grayson preferred older women, not younger ones like me. From the beginning, I never thought the age difference between us was a big deal. But after hearing this, I thought I needed to ask Grayson after Mr. Talon left.

"You don't know my taste. All this time, you've only cared about yourself. So act like you usually do, not wanting to know anything about my life. Now, please leave. My door is wide open for you." Grayson pointed to the front door.

I saw Mr. Talon looking at me coldly. He didn't seem to have any intention of leaving anytime soon because his eyes were still full of curiosity.

"I care about you, Grayson. You're my son and I know everything about you," Mr. Talon retorted.

Grayson let go of my hand. He moved closer to Mr. Talon. "Oh yeah? Isn't that what you heard from my mother? Damn, I thought she wouldn't contact the man who left his family to have fun with prostitutes."

"Watch your mouth, Grayson! I don't care if she's human, but I do care if she brings bad changes to your life," Mr. Talon said loudly.

Hearing that, I wanted to respond. But not a single word came out of my mouth.

"Quinn doesn't bring a bad influence into my life. It's you I have to stay away from because you're the one who brings bad influence to me!" Grayson spoke in a high tone. The veins in his neck were clearly visible.

At the same time, Dylan suddenly came out of his room. This caught Mr. Talon's attention.

Oh, I knew Grayson didn't mind Dylan living here. But I think Mr. Talon felt differently.

"Who is he?" asked Mr. Talon.

"Quinn's brother. It's none of your business. And once again, I insist, get out of here now!"

Mr. Talon sighed heavily. "So your house is now a shelter for people?"

Grayson suddenly grabbed his father's collar. "You have no right to speak ill of Quinn and his brother. Whoever lives here is none of your business."

Mr. Talon grabbed Grayson's wrist. "It seems your mother was right. You shouldn't be associating with someone from a different class than you. This is what happens, you lose your identity."

"Don't interfere in my business, you cheating man. You can't even set a good example in your marriage with Mum. So don't lecture me about my choices. Do you understand, Mr. Talon?"

A slap landed on Grayson's right cheek.

"I'm your father, Grayson. Remember that!"

I covered my mouth in disbelief. My feet were ready to run to separate them.

But after the slap, Mr. Talon decided to leave. He turned around after looking at me one last time and walked away without saying another word.

And when he was gone, I ran to Grayson. I checked his cheek, which was red with a very visible slap mark.

Meanwhile, Grayson just stood there, silent, staring straight ahead, his hands clenched at his sides.

Although he didn't say anything, I could tell from the look in his eyes how disappointed Grayson was in Mr. Talon. I mean, of course he was, because he was his father.

What child wouldn't be hurt by being slapped by their father? Especially since he was the only son, who had been pushed by his parents to take the place of his brother in their home.

After doing everything he had done so far only to get slapped, it must have been very painful.

And I also felt very guilty. I felt that Grayson was slapped because of me, because he stood by me and chose me when his parents disagreed.

I didn't expect to be accepted by Grayson's parents. But seeing him hurt like this, physically and psychologically, I feel completely devastated.

"Don't leave me. Okay?" Suddenly Grayson held my hand, which was touching his cheek. "You're all I have. So don't ever leave."

I nodded quickly. I looked into his eyes, which were filled with emotion at that moment. "I won't leave you. And can you explain your father's statement about your preference for older women? Is that true? If so, why did you choose me, who clearly doesn't fit your preference?"

Grayson tightened his grip on my hand. "Just because I once had a relationship with someone older than me doesn't mean she's my taste. He said that because he couldn't be like my mother, who openly rejected you."

"So it's not true?"

Grayson nodded and kissed my hand. "Yes, it's not true."

Okay, that was enough to make me believe him. Right now, all I needed was Grayson's confession, nothing else.

Grayson then looked behind me. "Sorry about the commotion, Dylan."

"I also want to apologise if Quinn and I have been a burden to you. We'll leave as soon as possible," replied Dylan.

"No, that's not what I meant. You two stay here so I can keep an eye on you. You're my family now. So don't go anywhere, okay?"

I turned to look at Dylan. I nodded to reassure him.

"Then I'll go back to my room," said Dylan. He then disappeared behind the door with his wheelchair.

Meanwhile, I turned my attention back to Grayson.

I stood on tiptoe to reach his head. I gently stroked his hair and then kissed him on the lips. "We're not going anywhere. We'll always be by your side to support you."

I wrapped my arms around his neck. He then lifted my body.

I wrapped my legs around his waist and he placed one hand on my back and one under my butt.

Our breaths touched each other's faces. Our skin touching sent a medium-voltage electric shock through my whole body.

I looked into Grayson's eyes and nodded, giving him permission to do anything.

But before that happened, I whispered in his ear, “Fight exceptionally well tomorrow. I’ll help you tonight.”

And after that, Grayson attacked me. From top to bottom, nothing was spared tonight.

I was trapped with him in a burning desire.
