Chapter 106 I'll Ride All Storms As Long As I'm With You
Quinn's POV
We finally arrived at the basement of Grayson's penthouse after hours of driving through slippery roads.
I was relieved that Grayson had calmed down, even though he hadn't said anything during the trip. But that was okay, I wasn't mad about it. In fact, I thought it was better for Grayson to stay silent and think about my advice than for me to talk to him and provoke his anger.
And now it was time for me to ask Grayson about his decision. As he said, he would give his decision after we arrived.
So I touched his hand, which was still on the steering wheel. I rubbed it gently before finally holding it.
I looked at him as he closed his eyes. What I admire about Grayson is that when I give him advice, he listens carefully without interrupting. Even though he may not agree later, even though it may be annoying for him, he doesn't cut me off at all. He lets me take on the role of his support system. And that really makes me feel appreciated.
"Gray bear," I called softly.
Grayson turned to me. "Sorry, I forgot that we had arrived," he replied.
I immediately hugged him. It seemed like he was really anxious about making his choice.
But I also had no intention of forcing him to say anything now. I just meant to remind him and it was fine if he took longer to give me an answer.
Grayson rubbed my arm and then wrapped his arm around my back. He also showered my face with kisses. "I've made up my mind. I don't want you to fall into the same pit as me. That's why I wanna go to therapy after this season ends."
I widened my eyes. "Really? Ummm, I mean, was your decision influenced by me or purely because you wanted to?"
Grayson looked at me deeply. "It's what I want, Quinny. Just like you try to give your best, so do I. And I don't want you to see me in a mess." Grayson took a deep breath. "I'm gonna fix myself from the inside too. And please help me with that."
I nodded repeatedly, my eyes glistening. "Yes, of course. Of course I'll help you, Gray bear. I'll be by your side."
Oh, I was so happy to hear that. It turned out Grayson had taken my advice.
What made me even happier was, he wanted to change without me telling him to.
As he said, he wanted to give me the best version of himself.
Oh, I am that lucky woman.
I kissed Grayson back repeatedly, conveying my happiness to him.
"That's a huge decision, babe. You are very brave to make it, and it's amazing." I praised him.
Grayson pulled me away from him slightly. He looked at me with flushed cheeks. "You called me... babe? I didn't hear wrong?"
I chuckled softly. "No, babe. You didn't hear wrong. You are my big baby."
Now not only were Grayson's cheeks red, but his ears were too. And to tease him, I pinched his cheek hard. "Don't worry that I'll leave you alone because I never will."
Grayson touched my nose with his finger. "Promise?"
"Pinky promise."
Grayson smiled widely and kissed me warmly. His breathing was so soothing. The touch of his hand on my cheek made the cold air suddenly disappear.
And when the kiss ended, it felt relieving.
"As for my mother, I think I need more time to convince her. As you know, she's just as stubborn. So I think telling her about it will only make her deny it."
I nodded, agreeing with whatever Grayson decided. I understood that all of this took time. Because it wasn't easy to persuade someone to deal with their mental health issues.
"So now everything is fine again, right? You're not mad anymore?"
I furrowed my brow. "I'm not mad at you, Gray bear."
"Maybe it would be more accurate to ask if your anger has subsided. So how is it?"
I smiled and nodded. "The hours-long drive with snow everywhere made my head clear." I then took Grayson's hands and kissed them one by one. "I'm sorry for getting mad at your mom."
"No, don't apologize. You have the right to be mad, not just at my mom, but even at me if I do something wrong. Besides, anger is just an emotion, right? You said so."
I chuckled. "You remember that well."
"Of course. I'm Grayson."
"You're so arrogant." I pushed his shoulder.
Grayson caught my hand and squeezed it. "It seems we're both calm now. How about we get out and go see Dylan?"
Oh my god, Grayson was right! I had almost forgotten about Dylan's problem with Owen.
I immediately unbuckled my seatbelt. Grayson then held my shoulder.
"Hey, honey, calm down. Slow down. I think Owen is gone too. I'm reminding you, not to scare you."
I didn't know either, panic suddenly overwhelmed me.
But seeing Grayson made me realize that I was no longer facing all these problems alone. I felt like I had a friend who was willing to be with me. Because of that, the panic slowly disappeared.
I took a deep breath and exhaled slowly. I repeated this several times.
"Feeling better?" asked Grayson. He tilted his head to look at me.
I smiled again to assure him that I was fine. "Yes, much better."
"All right, then let's get out of the car. Slowly, no need to rush, okay?"
"Okay," I replied.
I followed Grayson's advice. I did everything more slowly. It turned out that it helped my brain to think more calmly.
When I set foot on the floor, Grayson was standing in front of me and extending his hand to me. "Are you ready, my Quinn?"
I accepted Grayson's hand without thinking twice. "I'm ready, gray bear."
Grayson lifted me up to stand and slowly closed the door behind me.
It seemed like he didn't wanna let me go yet because he was now trapping me between his body and the car.
And sure enough, after a few seconds of silence, Grayson pressed his lips against mine.
I smiled as I felt his soothing kiss.
I was ready to face anything as long as Grayson was by my side.
