Chapter 101 My Safe Place
Quinn's POV
Grayson finally ended our kiss when we were having trouble breathing. He looked into my eyes and then his eyes smiled. "Thank you."
"For what?"
"For trying to calm me down. Because of you, I didn't relapse."
I reflexively dropped my hands from his face and placed them on his chest. "Your heart is beating very fast. Has that ever happened before?"
Grayson nodded. "It used to happen a lot. I don't really remember how many times. But often."
Oh, my poor gray bear. Those must have been difficult days for him.
"You are very strong. Inside and out," I praised him.
Suddenly he rolled up his sleeves and showed me his biceps and triceps. "This is the proof."
I patted his arm. "Ouch, that's really hard."
He chuckled and then rolled his sleeves back down. "The result of all this hard work. Never stopped going to the gym."
"Yeah, yeah, yeah, Mr. Show-off."
Grayson smiled broadly and then slowly laid me down on the warm wooden floor. His eyes looked at me as if asking for something.
And somehow I knew what he meant. So I immediately wrapped my arms around his neck.
"Can we make love here or at least can you sucking my penis?" he asked.
"To change your bad memories?" I asked.
Grayson nodded and licked my chin. "Yes. Can you do it?"
"Yes, I can," I replied firmly. Then I changed our position. Grayson was underneath me and I was on top of him.
I quickly took off his shirt. Then I traced his broad chest and hard body with my fingers.
My fingers moved from his eyes until they stopped at his lower abdomen. Without his consent, I unbuckled his belt and then his pants, leaving only his trunks.
I touched the bulging trunks, then looked at Grayson. "Can I take it off?"
With rapid breathing and a red neck, Grayson nodded. "Do whatever you want, Quinny."
I rubbed it with my palm. His cock hardened and I was tempted to squeeze it.
That was when Grayson growled and raised both hands to put them behind his head.
Seeing his reaction, I quickly pulled down his trunks so that his cock popped out and stood straight up.
I held that giant banana with both hands. "Do you want me to touch it with my hands or my tongue or my mouth?"
Grayson opened his eyes. "Anything. All three are fine."
"As you wish," I replied.
A second later, it was in my mouth. At the same time, Grayson's hand gripped my shoulder. "Make me forget my trauma, Quinny. Give me pleasure I've never had."
The thick white liquid spurted into my mouth and spilled out when I couldn't hold it all.
"No, you don't have to swallow it."
Too late, I had already swallowed it. Even now I was cleaning up the rest with my tongue.
"Ah fuck! You're so naughty, Quinny."
I smiled crookedly. "Usually you're the one eating me. Now it's my turn." I wiped my mouth with my arm after cleaning up the mess down here.
Grayson then pulled my hands so I fell on top of his still naked body. "Thank you. That was precious to me."
"My pleasure, gray bear. I enjoyed it too."
Grayson pinched my cheek. "Since when have you been able to tease me like this?"
I licked the edge of his lips. "Since... I don't know. It just happened. But beyond that question, there's something more important. Are you feeling better now?"
"Much better. I feel much better. Now..." Grayson wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled us closer together. "This place doesn't just hold memories that trigger my trauma. It also holds memories that heal it."
"I'm glad to hear that." I rubbed my nose against his chest. "Just so you know, you're also my safe place right now. I love being in your arms and I love your hug. You make me feel like I have a home to come back to again."
I wasn't lying. At first, Grayson was the place I avoided the most. But now he has become the place I feel most comfortable coming back to. He is my home now.
"Then I am very lucky," he replied.
"I'm lucky too," I said.
"So we're both lucky?"
I nodded and then rested my head on his chest again. I played with my fingers there, writing something. "We're both lucky to have each other."
"What are you writing?"
"My name and your name."
"Quinny & Gray Bear?"
"That's right. Cute, isn't it?"
Grayson chuckled, making his body tremble along with mine.
I never thought I would spend the beginning of December in the arms of Grayson, a star and ice hockey player I used to only see on television, in a place that was precious to him while waiting for the first snow to stop.
I never thought I could fall in love again after being betrayed by the man who said I was his fated mate, who ultimately led me to meet the man who is truly my fated mate.
It still feels like a dream. How the pain of that betrayal used to haunt me every day, and now my days are filled with beautiful things because of Grayson.
I don’t know what I had to pay to get all this.
Maybe it's a gift for the thousands of tears I've shed over the years. Maybe it's compensation for the miserable life I had as a child, so God has blessed me with a man who can turn those years under dark clouds into days filled with rainbows and bright skies.
Meeting Grayson is both a wound and a cure. But I never regret repeating it over and over again.
Even if given a choice, I would still choose to know Grayson rather than not at all.
Because meeting him has taught me many things. I've come to understand that love doesn't always come in the form I desire, but it can also bring happiness I never imagined.
Now love is in my hug and it’s hugging me.
I am his and he is mine. And that is enough. For now.
