Chapter 169
Zairiel
The Lord of Time pressed his horns to mine in his living room, but this time a gentle chime could be heard through the entire bubble.
“Be blessed my son. Zairiel, House of Apocalypse in mortal tongue, Blood of my blood. Blood of Zuviel Nox, and Xaxas Nox.”
“Flesh of your flesh.” I bowed my head….
“Go. The time is now, and he is within inches of your mate.”
“WHAT!” I vanished in a panic, but I also knew she held his *direct* protection until *after* our fight…
But still the point of him being that close didn’t sit right with me AT ALL!
I followed the thread…. I was so excited.
And nervous.
If I see her first, I can’t talk to her until I kill Narru because he’d stab me in the back while my guard’s down.
If I see Narru, I *can’t* fight him near a realm.
Fuck!
I Get To Have A Mate!
What if she’s mortal?!
I’ve waited thousands of years for this.
Thousands.
If she was a carboard cutout, so long as I can touch her and hold her I don’t fucking care. If she’s cursed, I can cure it. I’m a god, about to eat the ruling god of this entire corner of Infinity.
All the ugly brown orbs are getting a color change too. They look like glowing turd balls. Hehehe.
I followed the red thread to the corner of this quadrant… I did the ‘human level of power’ trick to sneak in without issue. Nobody ever suspects that.
No one.
But my heart… as I zoomed through space… as I got closer to the enormous planet, I could scent Realm Eater…
I flew past this place’s largest of three moons… His castle was there…
He watched this world, because he likely knew she was here, but not **who**.
As I entered the cloudy atmosphere, I could feel him suppress me passively. That actually plays well in my favor, since he’s too busy with his head up his ass than to *look* for me. The air pressure from the soon-to-be downpour also helped. A storm brewed, and the howling wind blew my scent the opposite direction.
Plus, I assume he expected me to come blazing sword, slashing through reality.
I landed in this human form, and changed my robes to appear as a suit. They had a formal event, and to blend in, I made myself smell like a normal dragon.
The doorman looked stern, but he was also pretty relaxed. After all, Naru was here.
Who Would *possibly* disrupt a king’s party?
“Name.” He said stoically.
“Zairiel, House of Calaxious.” I said a little impatiently.
“Lord Narru’s relative?! I did not know his majesty had family.”
“Yes, now step aside.” I said as he bowed.
I did it that way, so he would just leave me alone. Fake names and pretending waists time, and he’s *too* close to Xethia…. Dancing with his wife.
Our eyes locked, and he twirled his mate off the ballroom floor, looking like father, dressed in a black suit.
“My my… how rude.” He said with a sneer. We pressed foreheads. He was trying to submit me, but we really are exactly equal…. Time did that on purpose…
“How rude of you to try and find my mate to kill her.”
“We are the same. You being easier to kill makes it easier for me to do as I please. And since the stupid chair’s locked, I’ll have to eat you to eat Tarru and Karru.” He grinned. “Then I was going to slip through layers until I could find one I could take.”
“Then power up enough to try and fight Time…. ” I said as he nodded.
“It would be worth it. He does not need to rule if he won’t sit on this throne.” He scoffed. “I know he hears this, and sees you. He roots for you, yet he abandoned us as he did his folly.”
“Don’t.” I said pointing a clawed finger at him.
“I think I will. He claims this Layer is his whelp, yet he does *nothing* other than stuff his face, and play pretend on a farm world.”
“He chooses to let you rule a corner in his stead, and a Quarter Of Infinity isn’t enough.” I said with crossed arms. “How much power is? Hmm? What will *you* do when you take the Cursed Crown.”
“I’ll dispel it.” He said as if that were possible. The curse IS the crown… but it seemed only I flat out knew that, so I didn’t correct him.
“You’d be ripped apart.” I countered.
He means to throw off the balance of multiple layers… He Needs to fucking be put down.
Doing something like that will piss off every layer he slips through, and they’ll come here for answers, demanding that something be done about the loose dog running around stealing energy. From my instincts, I know that Layer Lords are all in a tense truce.
He could literally make a war that ends everything for multiple layers, that last eons for power not allotted to him… greed has poisoned his heart.
He must die for everyone else’s peace.
“Let’s fucking go.” I said as we both teleported well outside and away from the bubble…. I could feel the magic of Calaxious before I could see it. He protected all the universes around us.
“I want to see a fair fight. Your families and mates are watching. I have it televised in the sky.”
\----Xethia----
I stayed in the back with my brother, while all in the ballroom danced with their mates. Even Lord Narru danced with his wives.
How absurd that my father has friends this high…
I looked at my wine glass. This was still my first one…. I had no friends nor social bonds with anyone, at least not strong ones. I’d been here long enough to have at least two or three to dance with, but even my sister, sporting her red scales on her skin danced with a Very muscular blue drake. She looked so happy, yet, I had a bit of jealousy seeing her twirl with her potential husband.
That was the mating dance after all…
Father’s here too, so if they want to be married, he can do it on the spot.
There was a flash of lightning outside, but it’d started to rain so I thought nothing of it.
\[Irgamenebev! Come play outside!\] yelled Dravishanag, his wife.
“Sister my wife calls me.” Said Icecrown…. I saw him strip off his suit, since many of the older dragons love flying in the rain. Even father held a small smile, taking off his clothes as well. All the elders left us younger adults to mingle, and the party instantly went from tame to wild.
The music was changed to be much faster, and many pulled out flasks as if they were waiting for this to happen.
“Go, with so many masters here, there will be no trouble.”
“I’m a roar away little sister.” He smiled. “Oh, and if you do find a bonded, be sure to be married tonight eh?”
“I will.” I smiled.
To be married on the spot is normal, to go have eggs with a drake after a thousand years of courting is also common… It all depends …
Are they a bonded or not?
“Is this dance taken?” asked the same damn blue drake who danced with my sister.
“Why are you over here?” I almost growled… but it’s rude.
“Because I wanted to see the Flawless Diamond. I am the Blue Flash.” He said as if that would impress me. “I have as of yet to choose a wife.”
But it’s ok to mate dance with every shiny new dragoness he sees?
What a *pig.*
“And you will be single flirting with the *sister* of your dance partner.”
“She was so plain, I didn’t-”
“If you speak ill of my sister again, I will call my brother.” I hissed. I was *much* too small to challenge a man, but I know by scent that he fits in my brother’s hand.
Icecrown is well over 80 or 90 thousand years old… The Blue Fart is probably only 10 or 12. “You’re a Pig and a Coward that you come here after the Crown Prince of Iceland leaves.” I said that loud enough to get the attention of some of the instructors, and he left flustered.
“And Don’t go flirt with my sister again! The House of Ice Rejects your advances on the authority of the 98th Child of Iceblood.”
“The House of Night Rejects Flenillninextov!” Yelled a black dragon, his 254th son I think.
And soon enough, by the end of it, not even the servants would speak with him, and he left the ballroom.
I saw my poor red sister upset, and it irked me. She came over, wiping blood from her face with a napkin.
“You didn’t have to do that.” Canka mumbled.
“You saved me yourself with the song.” I giggled.
“Did you think it to keep those old musty farts off your tail?” she grinned evilly, and I returned it.
“You know it!” I giggled. “Fuck this, let’s go get drunk and sit in the rain.”
I’d never said such a terrible swear in public, but I felt like this was justified.
