Chapter 164

A/N: JEROLD HAS HIS BOOK!!!! DX IT WAS MY FAULT GUYS I TOOK SO LOOONNGGG.

Xethia

I woke up, but I was different….

I looked like *them*…. A human.

I had light clay colored skin and white hair that spiraled down to my middle back… I was confused. I guess my skin tone was around the color of baked human goods, though I thought it would be the color of my scales, but that was my hair. It shimmered like transparent glass, holding a whiteness to it because of the many facets on my diamond scales.… My eye color was purple, and still looked the same. I didn’t have claws when I looked at my hands… I felt my teeth. They were flat!

“She’s awake my lord.” Said someone meekly. Then there were steps outside the wall of this room.

Where were my looped horns?! My tail was gone too! Maybe it was under all this wrapped cloth, but hearing the grunt of the drake who saved me made me hesitate.

I could see myself with a thin glass surrounded by wood. There was a fire inside a small cave of stone since they can’t keep warm… and I was on a large nest that was incredibly soft. I could get spoiled on this thing.

“I see you’re awake. Do you like the form I gave you?” Said the voice of the great drake that carried me. His voice was softer than last time…

“I am my lord. Thank you for your magic.” I said to be polite… I wanted to make sure I didn’t offend him…. How strong is he if he can change my shape? It makes me wonder can father do this too… or maybe he was supposed to? My entire life has been mourning my cousin… not whelp training… not socializing with drakes my age….

Just leading… destroying…

I didn’t know how to do a dragon’s bow like this, but I dipped my head. “Thank you master for saving me.”

He shook his horned head. They were like elk horns. He was also darker skinned than me by quite a bit. His hair wasn’t fuzzy like mine. My hair was like a sheep’s, all fluffy and curly…. His was more of a silky goat’s. It was fine and straight, long as mine, but the bottom of his was cut into a very deep V, as if that were a style… I think.

I didn’t really pay attention to what humans looked like… and apparently…. I was dim witted from war.

“Think nothing of it, little niece.” He said this pouring brown water in a very small bowl, and it was placed in my hands. “Drink.”

I did as I was told. It tasted pretty nasty, all bitter and some other flavor? The flavor of berries or no… honey. I hate that flavor. It’s like the opposite of meat… But it was boiling hot, which that part, I liked. I drank it in big gulps, and he looked pretty disappointed.

“I take it my brother’s war lacks you home training.” He said with a small glare.

Was I supposed to eat this? He stopped me from biting the cup.

“I’ve never looked like this… been inside a human hou-”

He growled. “You’ve *Never* shifted?”

“No sire.”

“What?! You’re old enough to receive a bonded from a different clan! How much of a barbarian will they think us should-You know what. I can’t shout at *you* about this little niece.” He hissed.

“Niece?” I asked. Neither parent has a sibling, being created, not born.

“We Five First Dragons and our mates were all created. I rule the North.” He shook his head. “Surely you’ve heard of me. I’m Lord Grengelelgovten, the Steel Night Drake.”

*That* was a dragon’s name… It was a whole poem. ‘Black as night, he flames the forest.’

I never left our territory… I didn’t attend school…. The adults never spoke of this drake, yet, I realize now how ignorant I am… Shameful.

“No my lord; my studies were interrupted when I turned 500.” I said completely ashamed. How could I not be?

“Do not look so downtrodden little one.” He came over and pet the top of my head three times. By the third, he was in silver armor. “Izenteklevesh’s sorrow is warranted, but enough is enough. The mortals don’t understand. Iceblood knows this.” He said father’s common name… His name is also a poem. ‘The coldest frost breath on a winter day.’

“They-” he sharply clicked his tongue at me.

“They do *not* live long enough to understand why they have been slain for five thousand years.” He said firmly. “For us, it is as today… for them… they know nothing. For them, it has been so many generations that not only do none live from that time, but they also don’t understand this war. It is one sided. It not right they die this way. They learn nothing, only anger is gained from so many years of losing their loved ones.”

“I don’t understand.” I mumbled. I looked down, and felt a clawed hand pet my head gently.

“You sound like your mother, little one. He should have only punished the responsible.” He said with an annoyed growl. “Even worse that your studies were interrupted. Can you read?”

I was silent…

“Do you know any math?”

…. “I know basic-”

“So your generation is less bright than they.” He sneered. “Magic means little when you have not the wit to decipher what your spells mean.” He held out his hand… I could see…. Stars in the dark purple orb he summoned. It was so dense that I felt the weight of his magic on my shoulders… “I wanted to teach this to you so you could teleport home, however, if you learned it now, you’d blow your hand off.”

“Forgive me… there is no excuse. I could have learned when I was off the battlefield.”

“You lie to yourself. You had not the time leading the other whelps…. Letting whelps fight in a war… Iceblood angers me.” He hissed. “No one under thirty thousand should be out there.”

“He let only those of us from that rookery to join…”

“Drink your tea.” He said impatiently. “See her bathed and presented to my bonded. She will tend to your scrapes.”

“Please don’t fight my father.” I bowed.

He looked shocked.

“This is why knowledge is important.” He scoffed. “We are the same size and age, down to the moment… down to the ounce. We are barred from fighting by the Maker, since we were never designed to be *able* to fight each other, not without killing everyone in our wake. We Five all are this way… since this world was only trees and animals, we have lived…”

“I did not know this.” I mumbled, sipping the brown water politely this time.

“And I expect this behavior from a whelp.” He snarled. He was worked up, so I let him vent…“This is too childish. Too mortal minded, this level of revenge. What’s worse, is that his mortals trekked across the world to beg *me* and I have to use *my time and magic* because Izenteklevesh is a Damn Child.” He said leaving through a black portal… father’s den was on the other side. “We are all to convene on this; a meeting if you will, to end such a one sided war.”

Humans were… starting to become rare on our lands....

I couldn’t stop him, nor did I feel like I could ask more…. I had so many questions… I needed to know how I was this shape…. Why my wounds had cloth on them. Why was there no magic put on these scales, and they simply healed?

How were humans allowed to be here? They were in strange cloth, not metal robes on their skin. I would not dare disrupt the Night King’s order… Humans here were slaves of some sort… Fancy slaves.

\-----Zairiel-----

“Hot water! Na-na-na-na-na-NA-NA HOT WATER!” I sang at the top of my lungs. “It’s been a week, and I smell like smeet! Na-na-na-na Na-na-na-na Na-Na-Na-NA-NAAAA!

There was a bang on the wall.

“NOT SORRY!” I laughed.

“I’m calling the front desk if he keeps on.” Growled the human.

I let well enough alone, and I wrapped a towel over my waist. Could I instantly dry myself. Yes.

Will I?

No.

The Milton Hotel here Had Complementary Brownies! I got that, and the milk I got from Ubreh Eating and hopped on the bed, mostly dry except my hair and beard….

I looked like a Man. Fuck that elvish, clean-shaven bullshit! I braided my hair with magic, because I’m not brushing it *again* though. I need to have it cut, but for now, this is fine.

I found a ritzy hotel to shower Infinity’s nothingness off me. It was lonely out there… only me, my thoughts, and a sassy robot at my side made me glad Eskaal taught me the ‘steal a dollar from every mortal in a 10 mile radius’ trick. I had a couple thousand dollars, but it won’t matter.

I’m eating this place. I think.

I hadn’t done any investigation, especially since I wasn’t starving at the moment.

There was a knock at the door.

I knew it was the human next door. He was instantly flustered.

“You’re too loud.” He huffed.

“I sang about 3 minutes into a 20 minute shower. Trust me, I’m not why you can’t get it up.” I snorted.

“Why I ne-”

*door close.*

I laughed loud enough that he could hear me. If I was petty, I’d ruin their night, but instead, I gave him a little help. Let them enjoy themselves. When I find  out why this place taste so fucking good, they will be deleted.

“Ziri, why is this planet a candidate for deletion?” I said enjoying my small brownie. No one will take this from me.

\[The god of this planet is the Lord of Excess. This planet cannot be saved, because the corruption is the planet, and makeup of the mortals themselves.\]

“Ah… so it isn’t their fault, but their presence taints their universe.” I mumbled. “Summon all gods of this solar system here, and place a barrier to prevent leaving. Oh, and if any mortals are out space traveling, bring them back here.”

\[Done! Loss of life, 0%.\]

“Good work.” I yawned. “Call dad.”

\[^.^\]

She called dad, and he answered the third ring.

“King Xaxas speaking.” He said a little annoyed.

“It’s me dad.”

*shuffling*

“How’s it goin’ son?!”

“That’s Zai?!” Yelled Zoh.

“Yeah.” I said hearing them all scream.

“We were having dinner. You doin’ alright? Need anything?”

“No, just on my first world after leaving.” I grinned. “It tastes like garlic parmesan chicken.”

“When are you coming back?!” Yelled mom.

“I’m a Realm Eater mom… when I come back, it’s only for visits.” I smiled. “Ziri add visual.”

Now it became a portal mirror. They could see the nice room, and my condition. I don’t want them to worry about me… I’m literally fine.

“Wow, you’re mate’s going to flip out.” Said Zulliba.

“I hope so!” I grinned.

“Damn, now I want a beard.” Said dad. “You *look* like you eat planets.”

“Thanks dad.” I smiled gently, but inwardly I flipped the Fuck out. I Really hope my mate likes the facial hair…. “How’s everything?”

“It’s peaceful, event free.” Said Zohlliba.

“Zytherian kind of took your place, and nothing’s changed.” Said Zulliba.

“That’s good. I’m going to have dinner myself soon.” I said cracking my knuckles. It’s not personal; I gotta eat too.

“Be merciful.” Warned mom.

“I always am.” I said truthfully.
