Revealing the Truth

"Laura, I want to talk to you alone," said King Rico.

Stevan and Queen Yoana left the room. After that, Yola and the Reynold family followed. Now there are only Laura and King Rico in the room. Laura was still kneeling on the floor, not daring to look at the king.

“Stand up, Laura.” King Rico spoke again. Laura immediately obeyed the king's orders.

“Why don't you want to be a crown princess? Don't you like the crown prince?” asked King Rico, looking closely at Laura's face.

“I just want to live a simple and happy life, King.” Laura answered with a lowered face.

“Every life is not always happy, Laura. Everyone has problems." Laura was silent when she heard King Rico's words. King Rico tried to understand the thoughts of the young woman in front of him. A woman who has no ambition to live a life of wealth. It is very rare for a young woman to have thoughts like that, in his opinion.

"Do you love Stevan?" King Rico didn't want to just give up. He felt that Laura was his only hope to help Stevan.

“Forgive me, King. I still have my fiancé, and I can't possibly hurt his and his family's feelings.” Laura changed the topic. She did not want to answer the king's question. It was very hard for her to say she didn't like Stevan because it was the same as lying to herself, and it made her heart hurt.

King Rico sighed. It turns out that persuading Laura was not as easy as he imagined. No wonder his son was so obsessed with that woman. Apart from having holy blood, her personality is very unique. "Okay. I will speak honestly to you about the reasons I chose you as crown princess.” King Rico sat back in the chair.

“I will believe whatever the king says,” Laura answered quickly.

“Yes, they do exist. They even roam around us," answered King Rico.

"So, what does this have to do with me and Prince Stevan?" Laura's heartbeat was beating so fast. All the speculation about Stevan swirled in her brain. All the oddities that happened made her very anxious. She couldn't bear it if what was on her mind was true.

"Because Stevan is a werewolf," said King Rico, full of regret and sadness.

Laura's body suddenly went limp. It turned out that hearing the truth directly made her heart almost stop beating. It was a very surprising truth and made her heart hurt so much. “Is the king also a werewolf?”

"No. I'm not a werewolf. Actually, Prince Stevan was born as an ordinary human. However, suddenly, bad luck came. Prince Stevan was kidnapped by a pack of evil werewolves. At that time, there was a fierce war between werewolves and vampires. They fight for power. Until finally, Prince Stevan was made a prisoner of the werewolves so that they could regulate the power of the Spanish Kingdom. Since then, Prince Stevan has become a werewolf. Until this moment, I really regret that I couldn't save him at that time until he had to accept this terrible fate that tormented him so much." King Rico shed tears. When he remembered that bad incident, he couldn't hold back his sadness.

Laura, who heard the king's explanation, also shed tears. She didn't think that Stevan had been hiding something big from her all this time. Even though, in reality, she knew that the reason the king chose her was because she had holy blood, she was not angry. She actually really understood what the king felt as a father.

One hour passed. After talking quite seriously and in tears, Laura and King Rico walked out of the room. All their families were still waiting outside. When they heard the sound of the door opening, everyone in the place immediately turned around. Stevan's gaze immediately fell on Laura. He could see the woman's eyes looked puffy. He immediately approached the king.

“What did the king say to Laura?” Prince Stevan was very curious.

"I told her that you really like her," answered King Rico casually. Now his gaze was focused on Yola and the Reynold family. “Sorry for making you all wait so long. Come on, come with me. I've prepared dinner for all of us.” King Rico and Queen Yoana left the place, followed by the Reynold and Yola families, while Prince Stevan and Laura still remained in place.

Reynold looked back. He felt jealous when he saw Laura and Stevan staring at each other. He wanted to follow Laura, but he held it in and chose to continue walking, following the king and queen.

"What really happened? Why do your eyes look puffy like this? Did the king hurt you?” Stevan asked in a soft voice. His hand rose and touched Laura's cheek.

Laura couldn't contain her sadness. In the end, the tears fell again, wetting her cheeks. “Were you in pain all this time?” she asked hoarsely.

“What do you mean, Laura? Why are you crying?" Prince Stevan looked worried.

"Stupid. Why are you even worried about me?” Laura immediately hugged Prince Stevan's body. Her crying became louder.

"Yes, I was stupid because I couldn't have you until now," said Prince Stevan. His hands hugged Laura's body so tightly.

"In fact, you already have me, Crown Prince," said Laura, surprising Prince Stevan.
