Chapter 16 Chapter 16
Sable’s POV
Darkness surrounded me.
Endless, silent darkness where I couldn't see anything even if I strain my eyes.
For a long moment, I wasn’t sure where I was or even if I was still alive. The last thing I remembered was standing in the courtyard, my heart pounding as Kael’s cold silver eyes locked with mine. I remembered the power surging through my chest like a storm that refused to calm.
And then....
Nothing.
I looked around slowly.
After walking forward a little bit, the darkness wasn’t completely empty. It shimmered faintly, like moonlight reflecting on water.
A chill ran through me.
"Hello?" My voice echoed softly.
No answer.
I took a cautious step forward. The ground beneath my feet suddenly changed.
The darkness dissolved like smoke, revealing something unexpected.
A forest.
But not a normal one.
The trees were tall and ancient, their bark glowing faintly with silver light. The leaves above me shimmered like pieces of the moon scattered across the sky.
Everything felt.. alive.
And powerful somehow.
My heartbeat quickened.
"What is this place?" I whispered.
'You are finally awake'.
The voice froze me instantly.
It wasn’t loud but it carried an ancient weight that seemed to echo through out the entire forest.
I turned slowly.
At first, I saw nothing.
Then something moved between the glowing trees.
A shape. Large.
Too large to be human.
The figure stepped forward.
My breath caught in my throat as a wolf stood in front of me. It wasn’t just any wolf, it was enormous–larger than any wolf I had ever seen before. Its fur was pure silver, glowing softly under the strange moonlight. Its eyes held a deep, ancient intelligence that made my chest tighten.
It watched me carefully.
Like it had been waiting.
For a very long time.
"You...." I whispered.
My voice trembled.
"Who are you?"
The silver wolf tilted its head slightly.
"You already know the answer".
I frowned.
"No, I don’t".
The wolf stepped closer.
Its paws made no sound against the glowing ground.
"I am the first".
A strange chill spread down my spine.
"The first... what?"
Its silver eyes burned into mine.
"The first Omega Queen".
My breath stopped. The words echoed inside my head like thunder.
'Omega Queen'.
The title Kael had spoken.
The title the pack had whispered.
"You’re saying..." My voice faltered. "I’m like you?"
The wolf studied me quietly for a moment.
Then it shook its massive head.
"No".
Confusion flashed through me.
"No?"
"You are not like me".
Its voice deepened.
"You are something far more dangerous".
My stomach twisted uneasily.
"What does that mean?"
Instead of answering, the silver wolf turned and began walking deeper into the glowing forest.
"Come".
I hesitated.
"Where?"
"You will see".
Something about its voice made it impossible to refuse.
So I followed.
The forest seemed endless.
The silver light between the trees grew brighter the further we walked.
My heart pounded harder with every step.
"What is this place?" I asked again.
"This", the wolf said calmly, "is where the power of the Omega Queen was born".
My eyes widened.
"You mean...this is real?"
"Yes".
A strange feeling settled in my chest.
"Am I dreaming?"
The wolf glanced back at me.
"Your body sleeps".
"But your spirit..."
Its glowing eyes sharpened slightly.
"...is learning".
We reached a clearing.
The moment I stepped into it, the air changed. The ground shined brighter, almost like liquid silver spreading across the earth.
And then–
Images appeared.
Floating above the ground.
Moving. Like memories trapped in light.
I gasped.
Wolves were running across mountains. An entire packs fighting under a blood–red sky. Claws. Teeth.
Howls of rage. War.
My heart started racing.
"What is this?"
"Your future".
My stomach dropped.
The images shifted suddenly.
I saw a battlefield.
Dozens of wolves clashing together. Blood stained the snow. And in the center of the chaos–
A familiar figure stood.
Tall.
Powerful.
Golden eyes blazing.
'Leonidas'.
Relief flooded through me for a split second.
Until the image changed.
Leonidas stumbled backward.
Blood spread across his chest.!My breath caught in my throat.
"No...."
He fell to one knee.
Wolves surrounded him. Enemies.
My heart started pounding violently.
"Stop!" I shouted.
The images vanished instantly.
The clearing returned to silence.
I turned to the silver wolf, panic rising inside me.
"What was that?"
"A possibility".
My voice shook.
"He dies?" I asked.
"That depends on you".
My chest tightened painfully.
“What do you mean?"
The wolf stepped closer again.
"Your awakening has begun a war".
"I didn’t ask for this!"
"No", the wolf agreed calmly.
"But the world has waited for you".
My hands clenched.
"You said I was dangerous".
Its glowing eyes softened slightly.
"You are".
"Why?"
"Because the Omega Queen does not belong to one Alpha".
The words hit me like a slap.
"What?"
The wolf’s gaze remained steady.
"You will draw power from many".
Confusion flooded my mind.
"I don’t understand".
"You will".
The wolf lifted its head slightly.
"Three Alphas will rise because of you".
My heart skipped.
"Three?"
"One will protect you".
Leonidas.
I already knew.
"One will hunt you".
Kael.
A cold shiver ran down my spine.
“And the third…”
The wolf paused.
Its silver eyes darkened slightly.
"...will destroy everything for you".
Fear twisted inside my chest.
"Who?"
But before the wolf could answer–
A voice echoed faintly through the forest.
"Sable".
My heart jumped.
'Leonidas'.
His voice sounded distant.
Like it was coming from another world.
"Sable, wake up".
The silver wolf watched me quietly.
"You are being called back".
"Wait!" I said quickly.
"You still haven’t told me who the third Alpha is!"
The wolf didn’t answer immediately. Instead, it stepped closer until its massive head was only inches from mine.
Its glowing eyes locked onto mine.
"The third Alpha...."
Its voice dropped into a quiet whisper.
"...has already found you".
My breath caught.
"What?"
The forest suddenly began to crack.
Silver light shattered around us like breaking glass.
Leonidas’ voice grew louder.
“Sable!”
The ground beneath my feet started fading.
Everything was dissolving.
"Wait!" I shouted desperately.
"But who is he?"
I really need to know the third person so I can know who I want to face.
The silver wolf’s final words echoed through the collapsing forest.
"You will know him...."
Its eyes burned brighter.
"...when he tries to claim you".
And then–
Everything went black.
