Chapter 103 The Creator's Messenger

Chapter 103 The Creator's Messenger

Chapter 103

Leonidas' POV

The sky above Elysium had never looked so wrong.

Dark storm clouds circled over the floating city, but they weren't moving with the wind rather they were revolving around a single point.

A single...

Golden light.

Everyone on the battlefield slowly looked upward.

Even the monsters of Judgment stopped attacking.

The Guardian Kings lowered their swords.

Azrael's expression became unreadable. Moros frowned.

The Heart of Creation pulsed once making a deep vibration spread through the city.

The floating islands trembled. The rivers flowing through Elysium suddenly reversed direction.

Silver leaves rose from the trees instead of falling.

Reality itself was changing.

Marcus slowly walked to my side.

"I don't like this."

"You never like anything."

"I like food."

I almost smiled.

"Fair enough."

Then the golden light expanded.

A beam of radiant energy descended from the heavens, connecting the sky to the center of Elysium.

No heat.

No sound.

Only overwhelming peace.

Every wounded soldier suddenly stopped bleeding.

Broken weapons repaired themselves.

Flowers bloomed between the cracks in the stone streets.

Even the monsters froze, their rage replaced by confusion.

Sable stepped forward.

"The world..."

She whispered.

"...is healing."

Moros' POV

Impossible.

No one had summoned it.

No one should have been able to.

The Creator never interfered.

That was the oldest law.

Then...

Why?

I looked toward the Heart.

Its light had changed.

It was no longer calling for a Queen.

It was calling...

Home.

"No..."

I took one step backward.

"This cannot be happening."

For the first time in thousands of years...

Fear entered my heart.

Sable's POV

The beam of light slowly formed the outline of a person.

Not completely.

It looked like someone made of starlight.

No face.

No age.

No clear shape.

Only glowing golden robes flowing without wind.

The figure didn't walk.

It simply appeared before the Heart.

Everyone instinctively lowered their weapons.

The being spoke.

Its voice echoed inside our minds rather than our ears.

"Children..."

The single word carried unbearable kindness.

Tears filled my eyes before I knew why.

The Guardian Kings knelt.

The King bowed his head.

Even Azrael lowered his gaze.

Only Moros remained standing.

The being looked toward him.

There was no anger.

Only disappointment.

"You have wandered too far."

Moros clenched his fists.

"I only wanted perfection."

The golden figure answered softly.

"Perfection without love becomes emptiness."

Silence.

No one dared interrupt.

The King's POV

I had heard that voice once before.

Only once.

On the day I accepted the Crown of Creation.

I fell to one knee.

"My Lord..."

The being gently shook its head.

"Rise."

"I am not the One you seek."

Confusion spread through the chamber.

The figure continued.

"I am only His Messenger."

A ripple of shock swept across everyone.

Not the Creator...

A messenger.

If the messenger possessed this much power...

How great was the One who sent it?

Eden's POV

He finally came.

Not because we deserved it.

Because the story had reached its final page.

I smiled.

"You're late."

The Messenger turned toward me.

If light could laugh...

It did.

"You always say that."

"I learned from you."

The Messenger nodded.

"Yes."

"You did."

Sable looked between us in complete confusion.

"You know him?"

Eden scratched the back of his head awkwardly.

"A little."

Marcus threw his hands into the air.

"Can somebody please explain why everyone knows everyone except us?"

Kael sighed.

"I've stopped asking."

Everyone laughed.

Even in the middle of the apocalypse.

For one brief moment...

Hope returned to Elysium.

Sable's POV

The laughter faded.

Not because anything frightening happened but because the Messenger turned toward me.

The warmth surrounding Him deepened until it felt like the sun had wrapped itself around my soul.

I couldn't explain it.

I wasn't afraid.

I felt...

Seen.

Completely.

Every mistake.

Every fear.

Every dream.

Nothing was hidden.

Yet I felt no judgment.

Only compassion.

The Messenger stopped a few feet away from me. The golden light surrounding Him gently circled the Throne of Creation within me.

Then He spoke.

"You carry it well."

I blinked.

"I don't think I do."

The Messenger seemed amused.

"That is precisely why you do."

I frowned.

"I've made mistakes."

"Yes."

"I've doubted myself."

"Yes."

"I've been afraid."

"Yes."

I lowered my eyes.

"I'm not like the First Queen."

The Messenger's voice softened.

"You were never meant to be."

Those words settled deep within my heart.

I finally understood what Sera had been trying to tell me.

The throne had never asked me to replace her.

It had only asked me to be Sable.

Leonidas' POV

I watched Sable's shoulders relax for the first time in what felt like forever.

The burden she'd been carrying since the throne chose her...

It seemed lighter now.

Not gone.

Just shared.

The Messenger turned toward me. For reasons I couldn't explain, I suddenly felt like a nervous child.

He looked at me silently.

Then...

"You have loved well."

I stared.

"That's all?"

Marcus whispered loudly beside me,

"I'd have asked for a sword or something."

I elbowed him.

The Messenger continued.

"Never forget..."

"A Queen may lead the world. But it is often the one beside her who reminds her why the world is worth saving."

I swallowed hard.

Without thinking...

I reached for Sable's hand.

She smiled and held it tightly.

Moros' POV

Enough.

Enough of this.

Hope.

Love.

Mercy.

The same ideals that had ruined civilizations.

The same weakness that had allowed suffering to flourish.

I would not watch history repeat itself.

Darkness exploded from my body.

The palace shook violently.

The Messenger slowly turned toward me with no anger.

Only sorrow.

I hated that look.

"I reject your judgment!"

I shouted.

"I reject your Creator!"

The darkness condensed into a massive spear. Larger than any tower in Elysium.

I held it and hurled it directly at the Messenger.

The entire palace held its breath.

The spear entered the golden light...

...and disappeared.

Not destroyed.

Simply...

Gone.

Like it had never existed.

My eyes widened.

"Impossible."

The Messenger lowered His gaze.

"Hatred cannot touch what it cannot understand."

Azrael's POV

I had watched empires rise.

Worlds fall.

Stars collapse into darkness.

Yet I had never witnessed such effortless power.

Moros attacked with everything he possessed.

The Messenger answered without lifting a hand.

So this...

Was the difference between created power...

...and borrowed power.

I finally understood why the ancient laws existed.

The King's POV

The Messenger looked toward all of us.

Then toward the cracked Heart. His light dimmed slightly.

For a while I sensed sadness within him.

"Its time grows short."

The Heart answered with another painful pulse.

The Messenger raised one glowing hand.

The Heart floated into the air. Golden cracks covered nearly half its surface now.

"It may yet be restored."

Hope returned to every face.

Then He continued.

"But not by Me."

Silence.

The Guardian Kings exchanged uneasy glances.

Sera stepped forward.

"Then who?"

The Messenger looked only at Sable.

"The one who carries tomorrow."

Sable's eyes widened.

"Me?"

The Messenger nodded.

"The Heart has already chosen its path."

Eden's POV

It's happening.

Just like the beginning.

Only...

Different.

I looked toward the Messenger and he understood.

No words were needed.

Some stories...

Can only be finished by those willing to write their own ending.

Sable's POV

The Messenger extended His hand outward and a tiny golden flame appeared above His palm.

It was no larger than a candle. Yet its light filled the entire palace.

"This..."

He said,

"...is the First Flame."

"It existed before the stars."

"It remembers the Creator's first breath."

Everyone watched in silence.

The little flame drifted toward me and stopped inches from my chest.

"If I take it..."

I asked quietly.

"...what happens?"

The Messenger's answer came without hesitation.

"Nothing."

Confused murmurs filled the room.

Then He finished.

"Everything depends on what you choose to do with it."

The flame slowly moved closer. Just as it was about to touch me—

A deafening roar shook the palace. The walls cracked.

The sky outside split open again as a monstrous hand, larger than the palace itself, tore through the clouds above Elysium.

The Messenger looked upward and immediately his calm expression changed.

He whispered a single name.

"The Devourer..."

The giant hand tightened around the sky itself.

And the heavens began to break.

The sky screamed.

There was no other way to describe it.

The heavens didn't simply crack—they cried out, as though something enormous was forcing its way through the fabric of creation.

The giant hand continued pulling at the sky.

Every pull widened the tear.

Beyond it...

There were no stars.

No light.

Only an endless darkness that seemed to swallow everything it touched.

The First Flame hovering before me flickered.

For a while, its golden light weakened.

The Messenger looked up.

His voice was barely a whisper.

"It found the door."

A chill ran through me.

"It?"

The Messenger slowly nodded.

"The one even time fears."

Leonidas' POV

I stepped closer to Sable.

Every instinct screamed that I should protect her.

But from what?

A hand tearing open the heavens?

How was I supposed to fight that?

Marcus stood beside me, gripping his axes so tightly his knuckles had turned white.

"So..."

he muttered.

"...I think we've officially moved beyond wolves."

Kael gave a weak laugh.

"I was thinking the same thing."

No one laughed after that.

The Messenger's POV

The balance had shifted.

Too soon.

Moros had awakened the Heart before the appointed time.

Azrael had accelerated Judgment. The ancient seals had weakened.

Now...

The Devourer had sensed the opening.

This world stood at the edge of becoming another forgotten universe.

Unless...

The girl succeeded.

I turned toward Sable.

Her eyes held fear.

Good.

Only those who feared failure truly understood the value of hope.

I gently closed my hand.

The First Flame drifted into her chest and it disappeared without pain.

Sable gasped.

Golden light spread through her veins before fading beneath her skin.

The flame had accepted her.

Sable's POV

Warmth.

It spread through my body like sunlight after a long winter.

The Throne of Creation inside me responded immediately and instead of resisting...

It welcomed the First Flame.

For the first time since inheriting the throne...

The endless whispers vanished.

Complete silence.

Then...

One clear voice.

Soft.

Kind.

"Thank you."

The voice wasn't Sera's neither was it the Messenger's.

It was the Heart itself.

I placed a trembling hand over my chest.

"I heard you."

The Heart answered with one gentle heartbeat.

Moros' POV

No.

This wasn't possible.

The First Flame belonged only to the Creator's chosen.

It had rejected kings.

It had rejected queens.

It had rejected entire civilizations.

Yet...

It accepted her immediately.

Why?

What made this insignificant girl worthy?

I looked into her eyes.

Then I understood.

She wasn't trying to deserve it.

She had never asked for it.

She only wanted to protect others.

How...

Infuriating.

Azrael's POV

The First Flame had awakened.

Judgment had reached its limit.

My purpose was fulfilled.

For countless ages, I believed destruction was the only path to renewal.

Perhaps...

I had been wrong.

I looked toward the King.

Then toward Sable.

Finally, I lowered my sword making the battlefield fell silent. Every creature born of Judgment dissolved into silver dust.

The Guardian Kings stared in disbelief.

Moros slowly turned toward me.

"What are you doing?"

I met his gaze calmly.

"My duty has ended."

"You cannot abandon me."

"I never served you."

Those words echoed across the palace.

For the first time...

Moros stood completely alone.

The King's POV

Hope.

Real hope.

Not blind optimism.

Not desperate wishing.

Hope earned through sacrifice.

Through forgiveness.

Through choice.

I smiled at Sable.

"You have already surpassed us."

She looked confused.

"I haven't done anything."

I shook my head.

"Exactly."

"You never sought greatness."

"You simply kept choosing kindness."

Sera reached out and took Sable's hand.

"Our world..."

she whispered,

"...is finally in safe hands."

Eden's POV

The story is almost ready.

Not finished.

Almost.

There are still tears to shed.

Goodbyes to say.

A final door to open.

But the ending...

The ending has finally changed.

I smiled.

This time...

It might actually be a happy one.

Sable's POV

The giant hand above Elysium slowly withdrew.

Not defeated.

Watching.

Waiting.

The tear in the sky began to close.

The Messenger looked relieved.

"It will not return..."

He paused.

"...until the Heart makes its final choice."

He turned toward me.

"You have delayed the end."

"But only you..."

"...can prevent it."

His body slowly became transparent. The light surrounding him drifted into the air like golden snow.

"Wait!"

I called.

"I still have questions."

He smiled.

"I know."

"So do I."

His form continued fading.

Before disappearing completely, he looked at Eden.

The two of them exchanged a knowing glance. Then the Messenger spoke one final sentence.

"When the last door opens..."

"...tell her who she truly is."

With that...

He vanished.

The palace grew quiet once more.

Outside, sunlight broke through the storm clouds for the first time in days.

Everyone stood in silence, trying to understand what had just happened.

Then...

A soft sound echoed through the chamber.

Knock.

Everyone turned toward the massive doors of the palace.

Another knock.

Slow.

Patient.

Almost... polite.

Marcus frowned.

"Please tell me nobody else ancient is showing up."

A third knock echoed.

The doors slowly began to open and standing on the other side was a young woman in simple white clothes, carrying a small lantern.

She smiled as though she had arrived at the wrong house.

Then she looked directly at Sable and said,

"I've been looking for you."

The lantern in her hand suddenly burst into blue flames.

The First Flame inside Sable answered immediately.

And every ancient being in

the palace went pale.
