Chapter 42 Akira and Oscar

Chapter 42 Akira and Oscar
HIDDEN BEAUTY

On the library floor, lay Oscar and Akira on him, lips locked together in a kiss. I blinked many times trying to convince myself it was my mind playing tricks on me but everytime I opened it, there they were on the floor in their own little world.

I have seen people make out many times but for very strange reasons this scene did something to me. “ It felt like my heart was being squeezed in a vise, every beat painful."

I banged a nearby table when I could no longer bear it, startling them to their feet. The annoying guy Oscar scoffed and glared at me. I see he was enjoying this.

I turned my gaze towards Akira who only stared back from behind the hoodie.

“ So this is what you do under the guise of ‘ probation ' whóre around. Right?

“ I won't let you stand there and call her names. You need to leave. Now!" The annoying guy stepped closer,he looked like he was gonna bundle me out anytime soon.

“ Really? I scoffed. “ What do you see in this broke mótherfuckér? Don't you want to upgrade. Be with a rich guy? I know I shouldn't have said that but the words just sounded right at that moment.

“ You heard Oscar. Leave. Now." She said with that cold emotionless voice.

“ Do you hate me?" I asked not caring if I sounded stupid. I just needed something to ease the pain in my heart and I hoped she'll give me that. But I was disappointed when she snapped in a more icy voice.

“ can you leave!."

I stared at both of them for a few more minutes before turning around and leaving, feeling weak and defeated. I hated the fact that I wished she spoke more softly to me not in the cold tone I have refused to get used to..

The numbness increased with every step I took in the direction of my quarters.

“ was I just an oppressor to her? Why was I so desperate for her to see me differently? Why did I wish it was me in that position with her?".

All this questions ran through my head almost making me go crazy. I picked up my keys, the air in the room suddenly feeling stuffy.  I'll think of a way to deal with Oscar for going near what's mine. But for now, I needed to clear my head.

Akira's POV

The library was like every other day. Still and silent as a cemetery and perfect for reading. I had found an interesting Novel—The Calculation written by Blessing Etura, when Oscar popped out of nowhere and snatched the book out of my hands. He was bored and needed someone to chat with but unfortunately for him I wasn't in the mood for that.

“I lunged for the book, but he held it just out of reach. I grabbed his arm, and we tumbled into a chaotic dance, pages fluttering everywhere. I lost my footing, and we crashed to the floor – me on top of him, his arms instinctively wrapping around me to break my fall. My lips brushed against his, the sudden contact sending sparks flying through me. For a moment, we froze, chests heaving in unison, our faces inches apart."

I don't know how long we stayed in that position. Seconds felt like hours until a loud startling sound made us scramble to our feet in shock.

We turned around and faced the source of the sound. Elliott.

Oscar scoffed in annoyance. He looked like he was about to beat Elliott up any minute.

“ So this is what you do under the guise of ‘ probation ' whóre around. Right? Elliott asked making my blood boil.

“ I won't let you stand there and call her names. You need to leave. Now!" Oscar snapped before I could respond.

“ You heard Oscar. Leave. Now." I  said when I could no longer tolerate his annoying words. He left after being more annoying but I knew this was far from over.

“ Are you alright?" Oscar asked once we were alone. “Don't listen to whatever he said I'm going to make him pay he added."

“ I'm fine Oscar. I'm just worried about you. He's going to come after you and it's not going to be easy. "

“ I know Akira. I'll be waiting. To make him regret,"  Oscar smiled.

I stared at him wondering where he got his confidence from. Well I'm going to see to it that he doesn't get hurt.

Author's POV

Activities went on normally at Rosevale with no interruptions till closing time when students were gathered in groups at the parking lot, chitchatting with friends while waiting for their chauffers.

Elliott watched Oscar move through the sea of bodies to where Akira and her friends stood, talking and laughing happily. The library scene replaying over and over in his head making his blood hot.

He stormed over to where the group of friends stood and pulled Oscar by the sleeve of his shirt and turned him around.

“ You think you're slick, kissing her? You're just a nobody, a waste of space. You're just a joke. No one knows who you are, no one cares."

Oscar: “Exactly. That's how I like it. Unlike some people, I don't need a spotlight to validate me. You're the one screaming in the parking lot, trying to prove you're relevant."

Elliott: “You don't know anything about me or my life. If you did you'll stay in your lane."

Oscar: “I know enough. I know you're so used to getting what you want, you can't handle it when someone doesn't fall in line. But here's a newsflash: the world doesn't revolve around you, Elliott."

Elliott: “Whatever. You're still just a nobody."

Oscar: “And you're still just a bully. How's that working out for you?"

Elliott scoffed and walked away in defeat amidst the confused stares of Rosevale High's students.

Kiana's POV

What's up with Elliott. Why fight Oscar? I stared at his retreating back. He mentioned kiss... could it be...?

OMG! I gasped and immediately covered my mouth, thankfully the witch was nowhere in sight.

Elliott like Akira and for him to confront Oscar means he saw them kiss. What did this boys see in Akira? She's not even pretty I huffed angrily. Well that's none of my business. My focus is dealing with Olivia, then Elliott for using and discarding me like toilet paper.
