Chapter 30 That Boy

Ethan's face froze instantly.

Emily deliberately twisted her waist, drawing from her experience of watching the treasured videos on Alexander's phone, and continued to simulate a few more lines.

Each one louder than the last.

"That's enough!" At this moment, Ethan growled lowly, gripping her wrist tightly, his eyes flashing with a dangerous light.

Emily was startled as she urgently whispered, "Mr. Thomas, you..."

She thought, ‘Don't be so angry! Your father is still outside.’

She didn't say it directly but hinted towards the direction of the door with her eyes, reminding Ethan.

Ethan's eyes darkened, coldly saying, "My father has already left."

Emily was stunned, "What? He left?"

Ethan held the monitor up for her, showing clearly that the corridor outside was empty.

"When did he leave?" Emily asked hurriedly.

Ethan adjusted the monitor and said softly, "About five minutes ago."

Emily was stunned as she thought, ‘So, all my efforts just now were in vain? He didn't hear anything? However, this is probably for the best. Otherwise, I would have been so embarrassed!’

At this moment, Ethan's thin lips approached her ear, his breath warm against her skin, "I saw you were really into the performance, so I didn't interrupt."

Emily felt speechless.

Originally, she wanted to deflate Ethan's pride, but she ended up being mocked by him.

She chuckled coldly and thought, ‘You are so cheeky!’

She prepared to get up, but Ethan's large hand still held her wrist, firmly pulling her back into his embrace.

"Ethan Thomas!" Emily was so angry she called out his full name.

"Emily, your performance just now... You seemed quite experienced?" Ethan's eyes dimmed slightly as he asked in a deep voice.

She thought, ‘Experienced?’

Emily was even more furious. She pursed her lips and sneered, "Well, there's no point in discussing whether I'm experienced or not. After all, Mr. Thomas, you're already incapable of enjoying it. If I tell you, it will only add to your troubles and make you feel discouraged and uncomfortable, isn't that right?"

Ethan chuckled lightly.

He realized that Emily was indirectly insulting him.

However, Emily suddenly widened her eyes.

She thought, ‘I have insulted Ethan, and he actually laughed. Could it be that he has become crazy after being triggered by me? It seems so. How can such a proud man accept my sarcasm?’

Emily sighed feignedly and pretended to console him, "Mr. Thomas, you should take it easy. Perhaps there's still a way to treat it. I heard that there are some secret remedies that might have the effect of enabling your bodily function. You could send someone to inquire about some folk remedies."

Emily deliberately said this to probe Ethan's reaction, to see if he would mention anything about the medical book.

However, Ethan coldly replied, "I am not interested."

Those words left Emily speechless.

"It's getting late, let's sleep." After Ethan finished speaking, he controlled his wheelchair to move to the bedside.

Emily thought about going to help, but seeing him able to manage to get into bed himself, she didn't intervene and walked to the prepared bedding, immediately lying down.

Although the ground was a bit hard, Emily still managed to fall asleep.

In a daze, she dreamed of that big fire.

Tilda and Emily lived in a cottage halfway up the mountain. The fire started from the mountaintop and spread downwards. Tilda wetted the blankets with water and wrapped Emily up before they started down the mountain.

Midway through their escape, she encountered a boy, his face blackened, lying unconscious on the ground.

She woke him up, and even in the darkness, the blaze around them reflected in his dark eyes.

"Save me..." His voice was weak but pleasant to hear.

Emily remembered pulling him up, covering them both with the blanket and fleeing down the mountain together.

When she got the boy to the foot of the mountain, she realized Tilda hadn't come down yet. Anxiously, she rushed back and found her pinned by a burning pillar.

After using all her strength and ending up with a part of her face and body scorched, she was able to get Tilda off the mountain.

However, the boy she saved, who should have been at the foot of the mountain, had disappeared without a trace.

Tilda nearly lost her life during that incident, and her health suffered long-term effects.

Emily didn't know who the boy was and never saw him in the village again. He seemed to have disappeared from the earth.

"Tilda..." In her dream, Emily called out to Tilda, tears streaming down her face.

Ethan had always slept lightly. He was awakened by Emily's cries.

He thought, ‘Who is Tilda?’

He thought carefully and realized it was Tilda Bax.

Tilda had been Emily's nanny who took care of her before she went to university in the capital. They had lived together in Flower Village before that.

Ethan thought, ‘It was also the village where I had been kidnapped. Back then, I almost died there, if not for Chelsea's rescue… Fate is ironic. Now I am married to Emily and has become the enemy of the Parker family.’

"Tilda, don't leave me, okay? Don't leave. I will behave myself..." Emily cried and called out.

Ethan quietly turned on the lamp.

He looked at Emily sleeping on the floor, her face covered in tears, her nose red. Her helpless appearance was heartbreaking.

He couldn't help but feel sorry for her.

Her mother had died early, her father was indifferent to her, and she had been bullied at home and even kicked out of the house.

Only Tilda had sincerely treated her well, but her life was short. She had passed away a few years ago.

Emily cried incessantly, like an injured child.

Ethan couldn't bear to see it anymore. He got out of bed and came to her, bending down to pick her up and gently lay her on the big bed.

He wanted to at least let her sleep comfortably.

Emily felt herself enveloped in a warm embrace, and she could smell a faint scent of mint that was fresh and indiscernible.

She reached out and hugged the object in front of her, mumbling, "Tilda, are you back? Did you come to see me?"

Ethan felt speechless.

Emily buried her face in Ethan's neck, crying while saying, "Tilda, I am married now. My husband is a self-righteous jerk.”

Ethan was stunned by her words.

Emily groggily opened her eyes, and a handsome, familiar face appeared in front of her.

She muttered in confusion, "Why do I see him? Stupid Ethan, you have flaws but you are unwilling to face them. You even want me to put on a show with you and accuse me of being so experienced in bed. Fuck you! But, looking closely, you are quite handsome. It's really a pity that you are crippled…"

Emily reached out and pinched Ethan’s tall nose while giggling, "Ethan, your nose is so pretty, cut it off and give it to me!"

She reached out, wrapped her arms around his neck, brought her lips forward, and kissed the tip of his nose.

Ethan instantly stiffened all over.
