Chapter 72 I Want You to Stay With Me

Chapter 72 I Want You to Stay With Me
Damien happened to be walking in the middle of the stairs, less than a foot away from where the glass bottle shattered.

He glanced at the broken glass on the ground, then his cold gaze lifted and swept across the room.

When he saw me, his eyes seemed to condense for a moment before becoming even colder.

In a place like this, security was everywhere, not to mention someone with Damien's status showing up here made him a heavyweight VIP. The moment they saw someone trying to cause trouble, two groups of people immediately moved in. One to protect Damien, the other to surround me.

But I just kept staring at him, even measuring the distance with my hand where I'd just missed.

"Oh, just a little bit off." I tilted my head and gave Damien a provocative smile. "What a shame."

Damien clearly saw the provocation in my eyes, then waved his hand, signaling the people in front of him to step aside, and slowly walked toward me.

"Just a wine bottle?" Damien looked at me. "I thought you were capable of more, but after all these years, you still haven't made any progress."

After saying this, he glanced at Lucas, then his eyes returned to my face with a sneer. "Still want to play siblings? You're both too old for that."

I nodded in agreement. "Yeah, a wine bottle is pretty childish for dealing with someone like you. But don't worry, I just couldn't hold back suddenly. Damien, we still have a long road ahead of us."

"Good," Damien stared at me. "I'd also like to see what other tricks you have."

After saying this, he glanced at Lucas again, turned, and led the group of men and women following him out without looking back.

The group had originally been here to party, but when they left the bar, Damien said directly that he wasn't in the mood and got into his car to leave.

Tonight was originally a party arranged for him, and the organizers saw this important guest suddenly change his mood. They weren't willing to let him go and hurried forward to say something, but Damien never said a word, as if he didn't hear anything.

Seeing this, his assistant quickly stopped the man, comforted him a few times, and persuaded him to leave.

The assistant opened the car door and sat in the driver's seat, but suddenly heard Damien ask, "Who was that person with her?"

The assistant immediately responded. "His name is Lucas. He came back from abroad to serve as general manager of Quinn Industries, and they've apparently known each other for years..."

Before the assistant could finish, he heard Damien sneer.

He really didn't know what that sneer meant and didn't dare ask more. He was about to start the car when suddenly a woman knocked on the back window.

When the assistant turned around, he saw a girl from the bar earlier.

There had been all kinds of beautiful girls present. This girl wasn't particularly outstanding or lively. She seemed to have never participated in this kind of gathering before and was clearly a bit reserved on the scene.

But now, she knocked on the car window and asked somewhat nervously, "Mr. Blackwood, could you give me a ride?"

That sentence was clearly taught to her by someone.

The assistant turned to look at the organizer still standing by the roadside. Obviously, he had to please Damien no matter what tonight.

He had to admit the man still had good taste for people.

Throughout the night, Damien hadn't seemed very interested in women, but he'd glanced at this one twice.

Very inconspicuous glances.

The assistant thought he'd followed Damien for years before noticing, but it turned out someone else had been paying attention too.

He couldn't help but look at the woman's features through the rearview mirror. Even when this girl thinks her chest is well hidden, it still can't be concealed at all.

Damien sank into the shadows and didn't speak.

The assistant opened the car door and said to the woman, "Please get in."

It was common for someone to cause trouble in a bar, not to mention the parties involved had already left. I wasn't too embarrassed and could leave smoothly soon enough.

I actually wanted to drag Lucas to move locations and keep drinking, but Lucas insisted on sending me back to Jade Bay.

I'd already been lying around at home for three days. When Lucas sent me back, all I could do was keep lying around as usual. I was tired of lying in bed for three days, so I switched to the sofa instead.

I lay there until the middle of the night when I suddenly woke up without warning.

The clock showed two in the morning, and the surroundings were completely silent, as if I were the only one left in the world.

I suddenly sat up, and after a moment of stagnation, I got up and went out.

At this hour, most of the windows at Moonrise Terrace were brightly lit.

When I reached Caspian's door, I actually hesitated for a moment, but then I saw the bright lights throughout the house.

Caspian seemed to like a bright world, but when he was with me, we were always in darkness.

I could never figure out what kind of person he really was.

Fortunately, it wasn't too important to me.

I went in quickly, and there was no Caspian in the large living room.

At this hour, even if the lights in the house were bright, normal people should be asleep.

I was about to walk toward the bedroom when suddenly I felt something and turned to look toward the terrace.

The cold spring had passed, and the temperature during the day had gradually risen to a comfortable range, but it was still a bit chilly at night.

And Caspian was sitting on the terrace by the water, letting the coolness wash over him.

I walked slowly and had just approached the terrace when I suddenly smelled smoke.

"Not sleeping in the middle of the night, hiding here smoking alone. Does Mr. Vale have something on his mind?" I stepped forward, sat down beside him, and turned to look at him. "Do you need my help solving it?"

Caspian quickly twisted out the cigarette that was almost burned down between his fingertips.

This action startled me, and I quickly grabbed his hand, looking at his fingertips and touching them again before looking up to ask him, "Doesn't that hurt?"

Caspian didn't answer, but asked me instead, "Why did you come this time?"

"I wanted to come steal some wine," I said. "Who knew someone came to this house... I can't steal it now."

Caspian stared at me with deep eyes. "Haven't you been drinking?"

I pursed my lips and lifted my eyes to look at him. "What about you? You don't usually smoke, do you?"

We looked at each other, and neither spoke again for a while, until a cool breeze blew and I couldn't help but huddle into myself and sneeze.

Caspian paused, then lifted me from the sofa and walked to the bathroom.

I don't know when a jar of hot water had been placed in the bathroom, with heat rising from it.

"Bath for twenty minutes."

Caspian was about to turn and leave.

I suddenly reached out to grab him and said.

"I want you to stay with me."
