Chapter 25 "never question his highness"

"Enough!"

In an instant, necks snapped towards the door as a gloomy, sinister voice pierced the air.

In a swift move, heads dropped low in submission and knees dropped to the earth in a flash.

Thud!

With loud bangs and coordinated motion, several people rested on their knees.

Pain spread through the core of their bones, but they were too terrified to notice how horrible it was.

Shivers crept into their bloodstreams, making them sink their necks lower in capitulation.

"Your majesty!"

Their voices nearly reached a crescendo as they struggled to breathe.

His glances swept through the small crowd, further worsening their fear.

"How rude of you!" He yelled, hardly controlling his wrath as his voice quivered.

From the corner of his eyes, he watched the small movement made by his mate taking multiple steps back in fright just from the sound of his voice alone.

"How dare you raise your hand against my mate, your queen?!" He roared, his feet slowly approaching the object of his anger.

"How dare you, Anna?!" He flailed at her, his slow walk now becoming that of a stalk, like the predator he was.

"Speak!"

He roared, his swirling eyes resting on her trembling form.

"I–I..."

She stammered under his cruel gaze, her mind going blank as she paled like a sheet.

"Did you plan on acting like you didn't know she was my mate?!" He growled furiously, finally stepping in front of her and sensing the lie that was about to roll off her tongue.

His hands clamped shut in an attempt not to dig out her throat.

His knuckles shook and turned white, making blood seep out of the wounds made by his claws.

His face twitched, and his brows ticked while he struggled to suppress the rage within his heart for the tenth time today.

"Speak Anna!"

He threatened, this time with his fangs visibly elongating.

"It's all that human's fault!" Anna answered, her eyes flashing with every bit of hatred towards his said mate.

"MY MATE!"

He roared, quickly pounding his clenched fist on any available furniture.

"Your queen, yet you dare disrespect her!"

Smash!

"How dare you?!"

Smash!

"You want death?!" He howled, his eyes turning every shade of violent and then dark.

"Marcos—"

She began but was cut off by an angry, powerful growl from him.

"Your Highness!"

He snapped, hitting another piece of furniture.

"To you and everyone else!"

Shock made its way to her face as she stared at him.

Finally, she gritted her teeth, then she spoke: "She doesn't deserve to be your mate, your highness; she is weak and nothing but an ordinary human not worthy of being by your side."

She said, with hate and malice behind every word, daring to raise her head to meet his scorching gaze, rarely jerking with every smash he made with his busy hands.

He chuckled darkly. "You dare decide for my own life?" His taunting words cut through the air, sending a chill down their spines.

"How very bold of you." He muttered loud enough for everyone in the room to hear.

"Now tell me, what gave you the guts to say to my face that my mate, MINE, isn't worthy of me, Anna?" He asked calmly, putting the demolished furniture on the ground.

She took unsteady steps back in terror, now seeing the empty look on his face.

Panic crossed her features as sweat emerged on the side of her forehead, making the layers of makeup she wore more visible.

"Who do you think is worthy of being by my side?" He mused, then paused briefly, waiting for her answer.

"What, you?!"

He snorted, his claws out of their confines, his clothes slowly ripping, and he appeared taller.

"It seems you have forgotten your place, Anna."

Sounds of clothes being shredded cut through the fearful silence of the room as his deep voice slowly changed to that of a beast.

Soon enough, a tall, huge, hairy, beast-like man on two legs stood proudly in the room, his head almost touching the ceiling. The chandelier in the room swayed as it was knocked over by the huge, beast-like man.

Crash!

The majestic channeler met its demise on the ground.

"Don't worry; I shall gladly remind you of the place you belong," his ugly, howling voice sneered. "Under my feet."

"No," Anna yelled, "stay away from me!"

Whimpers filled the air as they all knew what was going to happen next.

Anna took hurried steps back in fear, her gaze still on the man before her. She watched as his outstretched hands tried to grab her.

He swung his hands at her as she tried to flee, but he missed.

"Marcos!"

She hissed, a claw scraping her by the arm and leaving a long trail of exposed flesh and blood.

"Your Highness!"

His voice rumbled, making everyone cover their ears.

Her momentary distraction caused him to clutch her.

By now, everyone in the room had already fled into a small part of the room, trying their hardest to become invisible.

"Please stop," she cried, feeling his massive hands wrapped up around her neck.

"It's me, sorry." She wheezed, her pale face already turning blue from lack of air.

Stifles and scared cries filled the air; the once regal room looked like a trashed room, its majesticness a far cry from what it was now.

Lisa stood at the side of the room, her face taking on an equally dull colour as that of Anna's.

Scenes flashed before her very eyes; every cell in her body was crying out at her, and the need to run for her dear life fogged her brain.

A notch was all she needed to fuel her actions into motion, but for some reason, she found her legs too heavy to move.

"Luna!"

One of the maids who had secretly snuck her way to her called, her face as dull as hers.

Lisa stared at the maid in a daze, her eyes never straying from the scene playing before her.

"Please, stop him," the maid begged, looking into Lisa's eyes, despair flashing.

"Why?"

Lisa replied dumbly, her brain too slow to pick anything up at the moment.

"He's going to kill her; please save her!" The maid said, going to her knees; her voice was a little higher than she wanted, but she didn't mind; she banged her head hard on the floor after she knelt.

Surprised by her sudden actions, Lisa rushed to pick up the maid, who not only abstained from being touched by Lisa but continued smacking her head until it started bleeding.

"Please, please save my brother's mate." The woman sobbed, snot dripping down her nose.

"Wait— You mean, she is— Dear God!" Lisa stammered upon realising this.

"Please, Luna, do something; I beg you; if she does, my brother won't survive long." The maid cried harder, seeing as Anna had begun to go limp in Marcos' grip.

"Luna!"

"Marcos stop!"
