Chapter 1

Third Person POV.

“Good job, but I think you could have done better,” Allyson said and Alexandria smiled at her and looked down at her hand that she was clenching.

“Thank you, I will keep that in mind.” She said and ground her teeth in the end.

“As you should,” Allyson said and smiled at her lean back and rested her back on her swivel chair. “You can leave now, close the door behind you.” the woman added and smiled at her mockingly.

“Sure,” Alexandria answered lifted her head, and smiled at her. “Bitch” She uttered as she close the door.

Alexandria pressed her eyes closed for a second and took a deep breath as she walked towards her office.“Hey,” A woman peeking at the door frame said making her look at her and raise her eyebrows on her.

“What?” She asked crossing her arms in front of her chest and leaning back on her desk.

“Did she spit fire at you again?” The woman said and walked inside the office while holding a folder.

“She did, then she distinguished it with her untruthful praise,” Alexandria said and the woman laughed.

“I think you’re her favorite out of all the journalists here.” The woman said and walked towards the chair and sat there.

“Wow thanks to her,” Alexandria said and rolled her eyes towards the door and closed it. “You know what I don’t get? It’s the fact that other people who are smarter than her can admit to themselves that I did good, but her? My gosh, Saphirine, I don’t get how can she do that to me, she’s always trying to cover her trashy comments at my work with her flowery words that she didn’t mean at all.” she added and the lady with her name Saphirine laughed.

“I told you already, she’s insecure. Besides, haven’t you get used to it?” Saphrine said shaking her head.

“How can I? Maybe I’ll understand it if my work is always shitty, but it’s not. So, I don’t get it.” Alexandria said on her swivel chair and sighed heavily “Calm down,” Sapherine said and stood up. “She’s like doing that because she likes the feeling of satisfaction she’s getting when seeing you angry. So, don’t give that to her.” She said and handed her the folder.

“What’s this?” Alexandria asked and Sapherine shrugged her shoulders.

“I don’t know, I was asked to give it to you it’s from the head office I guess.” She said and Alexandria quickly opened It.

“Is this a joke?” she asks and Sapherine couldn’t help but frown at her.

“Why?” she asks.

“They said I was tasked to write ‘something’ about this person and all they give is one page about him with barely something about him.” She said looking amazed and disappointed at the same time.

“Who?” Sapherine asked.

“Alocer Azterzza, the CEO or Azterra Corporation. The bachelor handsome, mysterious billionaire,” she said.

“Woah, the mysterious bachelor?” Sapherine said. “Well, you will need a strong ‘Good luck’ for that.” She said and Alexandria looked at her with confusion. “Look, Alcoer Azterra might sound familiar but it’s hard to find something about it. He is like an eel to the media, very slick.”

“But why?” Alexandria asked.

“No idea, but yeah. Even the most famous journalist couldn’t even get a hold of him, so, biggest good luck best friend.” Sapherine said and Alexandria looked at her and the paper.

“Why…why would they give this to me?” She asked in disbelief.

“I’m not sure, but I have a hunch,” Saphirine said and Alexandria frowned at her.

“What is it?” Alexandria said confused.

“Well, the other company wrote something about him that is apparently from his ex-girlfriend and it became trending. So, I guess they want you to write something better? The article is not even that long and doesn’t have the ‘facts’ When I read it it was always ‘allegedly’. But, tell you this, I became so trending. I mean, even though there are only a few things we know about him there is still a lot of women going after him.” Saphirine said and Alexandria pressed her eyes closed and sighed heavily.

“Why not give it to Allyson? She is the read journalist here and according to her, she’s the best in here.” She said and Saphirine laughed at her.

“You’re that mad at her right now huh.” Saphirine sid laughing and Alexandria shook her head and rolled her eyes in annoyance.

“Sir, why me?” Alexandria said while sitting in front of a table while an older man so on the other side of the table sitting on a swivel chair. “I mean, don’t get me wrong I’m thankful that you thought of me when you wanted this project to be done but you know me, this is not a project where my talent can be fully used,” she added and the man nodded his head.

“But this can challenge you,” the older man's aide said. “Alexandria, this project is as important as your previous work. I want us to be able to provide the facts and be the first ones to acquire them about Mr. Azterra. This will help our company to be on top again, you know that we’re been struggling in the competition against the other company right? This project will be able to put us on top again.” the older man added.

“Mr. Baster, I get your point… but why me? Why not Allyson Raz? She is the head journalist, if you want to be able to get the best article, why not give the project to the best journalist?” Alexandria said.

“People can be best in their way Ms. Haste, she is the best but…she is also lacking in some things that will be a great need in this project.” Mr. Baster said that made Alexandria frown.

“What?”

“Patience, persistence, and passion to produce the best.” Mr. Baster said. “Yes, she is a good writer but when she writes she doesn’t put her best on it. For her, writing something is already enough, and writing the best is too much.” He added.

“Then why make her the head journalist?” Alexandria asks, “Because she has the attitude that can challenge everyone to be at their best, just like you. She gives you the fire to prove something on every work that you do, isn’t that right?” Mr. Baster said and smiled at her and Alexandria couldn't help but look away.

She nodded her head as she looked down, she knew to herself that the old man's aid it true. Allyson is one of the people who give her a reason to push herself to always be on top.

“So, should I be expecting the best article about the billionaire Alocer Azterra?” Mr. Baster said.

“I will try my best,” Alexandria answered and Mr. Baster nodded his head and smiled.

“Thank you, I’m rooting for you.”
