Chapter 10
I woke up in a dark room with stone walls and concrete floor and ceiling. I was freezing under my thin blanket they had given me to use as I laid passed out on the floor. The door opened and I instantly began trying to find a way to escape.

"Hello dear my name is Gazelle and I'm here to bring you to your new suite and help you clean up". I took her outstretched hand and she led me upstairs to my room. Once the door closed she came over to me and in a hushed tone she began explaining things.

" I know you have no reason to trust me, but please do. I've been here for my entire life and it's a living hell. I will help you get prepared to sneak out while they think I'm preparing you for Noah. There is a small window in the bathroom. Once you get dressed I will give you a prepaid phone that I will activate while you shower and you will sneak out of it. I want you to run down wind through the woods and call your dad".

I looked at her astonished. "Thank you".

"You're welcome. Now go we are down to thirty minutes now". I rushed my shower for like five minutes and used the toothbrush and hairbrush to brush my teeth and put my hair in a ponytail. I walked out and she gave me a small bag with water, jerky, and like three hundred dollars to help me get home once I reached town. I was given jeans, a t- shirt and boots along with a light jacket.

"You now have twenty minutes before I tell him you are ready. I want you to go into the woods at the closest point and run north. She handed me a compass and told me to get to the nearest city and get on a plane back to Louisiana.

I hugged her, " thank you Gazelle you have no idea what this means". As I crawled out the window she warned me about the guard that stood around the corner of the house to my left. I swiftly ran to the woods and I felt something grab me and a hand went over my mouth.

"It's good to see you darlin. That bastard didn't hurt you did he?".

I turned around and hugged Luke. "No, but he did drug me a couple of times". He bent down and kissed me. "I need to ask you something", I said.

"Anything darlin".

"Will you change me? Can you?"

He ran his fingers through his hair. "You mean you choose me".

" Yes I love you Luke, what has happened has made me realize who really loves me too. My decision yesterday was so hard, but today it's so easy with no question in my mind".

He pulled me into a deep kiss as he pulled away he whispered, " this might hurt baby just trust me".

"Ok", I whispered.

He sunk his fangs into me releasing the sweet gift of his poison and ignited the fire inside of me. I retaliated by sinking my newly acquired fangs into his neck. The feelings he had for me poured into my soul and it was almost too much for me to take. I was crying from the joy it brought me as I continued to stay latched on to him. As he pulled us apart our mouths had blood smeared on them and we kissed . He picked me up and I wrapped my legs around his waist and he held me there for what felt like the longest time. Then he began running with me and I held tight to him as he glided smoothly through the forest. 

I called my dad as Luke ran with me. "Hi Daddy, Luke found me".

"Oh my baby girl, it's so good to hear your voice". I couldn't hear mom in the background crying. Before I could say anything else it felt like we hit a brick wall. I looked up and it was Noah and a couple of his warriors.  Luke hissed through his now showing fangs. He let me down and pushed me behind him. My father was still on the phone. I told him that I didn't know where we were.

Luke yelled," just outside of Birmingham on I65 in the woods. Use your vampire skills to find us". As soon as Luke let our location be known Noah and his men went for him, but Luke was fast.

"Where are you!", I screamed through the phone.

"Close sweetheart", mom had the phone now.  "You need to concentrate on keeping yourself and Luke safe and use your instincts to do it".

"Ok". I said, trembling. Then the line went dead.

I built up all of the rage I had and jumped on Noah. I took his hair and pulled his head back all the while he was punching me and pulling my hair towards him. If I could just get my fangs and rip his throat out I could twist his head off. Then I felt a pair of hands wrap around my neck and I was forced to let go of Noah to focus on my new threat.

"Don't hurt her Joseph", Noah warned.

He still had me by the neck and I was thrashing trying to escape him and help Luke who had been killing all of Noah's warriors by himself. He was too overwhelmed now to help me and gave me the look of I'm sorry and to please forgive him. I looked back with a softer reassuring look to let him know everything was ok.

My new found strength was no match for Joseph and it was getting darker by the minute which meant an all out vampire war. I had to think what could I do to get him off of me and that is when I remembered my fingernail file that I had taken from my other pair of jeans. I reached in my back pocket and quickly pulled out the file and stabbed Joseph in the eye. He quickly let go and I turned on him faster than he could react and ripped out his heart and squeezed it so hard that it burst all over me. Frankly I did not care I went after Noah. He smirked like he always did and I ran for him. He stopped me on a dime and had my back to his chest.

"You are a very smart woman Lila, but I'm smarter. Would you die for Luke?" Before I could answer he had his head up and killed the vampire he had been fighting and was in front of us so fast my hair flew around my face.

"She won't die for me", he snarled, " but I sure as hell will kill for her."

Noah clicked his tongue," not if I kill her first. Take a few steps back lover boy because any closer and I will kill her". He now had one arm wrapped around my body and another wielding a blade ready to take my head off. It was silent for a moment and then I heard a voice inside my head.

"Listen to me darlin." I looked directly into Luke's eyes so he knew I knew. " Good you can hear me. When I say go I want you to tell him you've decided to ditch me and be with him because he's the strongest of the both of us and you can't be with someone weak. I'm going to act like I'm begging for you to come back to me and when he least expects it I will jump him. The sun is nearly down now and we will have to make it seem real. I love you darlin."

I took in all he had to say and I didn't like it but it was our only chance. I heard him say the word and I instantly flipped my switch. I began rubbing my body against Noah's and he loosened his grip on the blade he was holding and began grinding on me.

I turned to him, " Luke is weak and he didn't pass the test I had for him, but you passed yours. You are so strong and I want to be with you".

His eyes grew wide and dilated. He took me to him and kissed me hard and I couldn't believe how easy this was for him to believe. Then it happened. It was like another brick wall hit me but worse he had stabbed me in the side through my ribs hitting my lung.

"You can't fool me, pretty little princess. He has marked you and tasted your blood. You would never change your mind after that has happened so I know you were playing me."

It took a fraction of a second for Luke to realize what had happened and he rammed into Noah. I was losing a lot of blood and it took all I had to remain conscious. All I could see were blurred objects zooming past and soon I was feeling myself go completely out, but before I did I heard a familiar voice.
