Chapter 69 chapter 69
Beck

One week later

The girls had been busy, all of them. Adelaide had sent some very eloquently versed letters to Creedon’s business partners. She never eluded to her personal tragedy, she kept it to the facts of his unethical business dealings. Alpha enterprises was on its way down, she reached out to the small players who would suffer with the deals that he signed with them, falsely making them sound like majestic once- opportunities. They were none the wiser that these deals would have him claiming every dime in the end. These companies trusted him, several because of Adelaide, in her mind her dreams had been answered when she helped broker those deals. The problem was now she knew they had been backed by the dick of a man, who had no conscience or morality for those he squashed in his endeavors in capitalism. And then there were the big players including the Lords and Sons which she now spoke to daily as they demanded to make contact with her since her disappearance. They were men who were trying to expand their reach for the sake of their sleuth. Powerful, tactful, but above all kind. Adelaide knew what she was doing in a business sense, not even realizing who these people were, and Misty backed her by watching Creedon as his outburst became more explosive with every social media post in which she slammed and threatened to expose him through a new account every day.

Cricket was settling into online classes and had gone through her entire room 5 times, decided she could leave most of it even her prized my little poney collection. Misty had decided only the necessities were coming. Clothes, their computers as well as any other electronics and only the most sentimental of items they possessed, photos, books and mostly things given to them by Adelaide or her family. Right now she was “reconnecting” with her sister, hoping that we could use them as a temporary place to stay if all hell broke loose.

Negan was watching the drama unfold between The Blacks and Creedon’s people. I was actually enjoying his texts with the play by play of wolves hunting down the bears that threatened my girls. It all seemed to be working out spectacularly. That is until Misty got into his phone. He had been talking to someone in Divide where Adelaide was currently staying. She had been trying to pinpoint the contact but the conversations were too short and the number this person was calling from was a burner phone, so the information on exact location or who owned the device couldn't be trusted.

Right now Misty and her sister Lucia, were going back and forth in Spanish, though I had learned some of the language while staying here, I couldn’t keep up with the conversation. Instead I was watching Misty’s body language like a hawk and picking up just enough of what was being said to gauge the trajectory of the conversation. They had argued for a majority in the beginning, then things got solemn and I suppose they had made up. Right now Misty was tense, being careful with her words explaining that Cricket’s uncle was dangerous and she was preparing to leave. Her sister must have brought up Adelaide because Misty went quiet before she said in English “Between you and I, and don’t go sharing this with even family, Adelaide is safe for the time being but she’s got a lot on her plate right now and where she is at I can’t go, at least not yet. But when the coast is clear, yes I will go wherever I can that is close to her.” She listened to her sister’s response. “I get you don’t understand why we are so close, and I will never be able to explain it to you in detail. Adelaide became my family when she stood by me and did the unthinkable for a friend when my blood wouldn’t give me the time of day, because I was a fuck up, because I was too much, because I didn’t bend to the expectations. I’ll admit, I messed some shit up but if I hadn’t I wouldn’t have them,” she glanced at me and my heart stopped, this was her way of including me without explaining it to her sister. She was listening again.

“No, not yet but probably soon.” Her eyes were still on mine as a smile quirked across her lips. “I’ve actually got a bodyguard at the moment,” she said, as I realized my feet had brought me to her. I slipped behind her and pulled her into me, her breath caught. I was very ready for this phone call to be over with. Cricket was downstairs helping Valentina stock the candy. I was pretty sure the old wolverine was just using it as an excuse to spend some time with her.

Now I could hear the reply.

“A bodyguard? Sis please tell me he's hot… I need to live vicariously through you. Don't get me wrong, I love Hernando, but married life has taken the spice out of the bedroom, if you get what I mean,” her sister complained. Misty chuckled leaning back into me, getting the full feel of my erection against her back.

“Well, Ads sent him, but he’s older. Not a boy to chase.” Her breath caught as I couldn’t help bending down to nibble up her neck. She fought back a moan. “Let’s just say… I’ve been more than protected and very… um satisfied with his work. Oh, and Cricket loves him.”

“Do you love him?”

I was sucking on her earlobe now having succeeding in distracting her.

“I umm… I think I have to go,” she tried to end the call.

“He’s right there, isn’t he?”

“Uh huh,” was all Misty could get out as my hands slid up her shirt. She sucked in a sharp breath when I pinched a nipple.

Her sister laughed. “ Be naughty, chica! Bye!” and hung up. The phone clattered to the floor as I spun her and hefted her up so her ass was on the counter. She went to talk but I pressed my finger to her lips and of course she sucked it into her mouth… Misty played dirty and I loved every second of it.

“You're naughty,” I growled, pressing my body into hers, her hands already latching onto my belt buckle. Fuck yes, right here right now. She bit down on my finger and I gave her a warning look. She liked to test me, by antagonizing me into fucking her like the animal I was. The heat was roiling under my skin and it occurred to me, I hadn’t felt like this about a woman in so long. I cared for her but she met my sexual dominance with a confidence in herself that I hadn’t experienced before, even Ally was pensive at times. Pain shot down my finger as Misty bit down harder. The little bratty vixen, calling me back to her. She never let my mind wander too far. I pulled my finger free and crashed my mouth to hers. I teased Misty, delved deeper, demanding more. I complied, yanking her shorts off as she undid the buckle of my pants. I was almost too engrossed to notice the sound of footsteps approaching. 2 pairs, one accompanied by a cane, the other gait shorter, Valentina and Cricket. I stilled. The cane paused not far from the door, my ears straining to listen.

“You know what, I forgot I need to clean out my pantry, how about you come help me and I’ll give you a bowl of ice cream,” Valentina’s voice offered, yet changed direction before Cricket could respond. Cricket's footsteps followed, her voice too low to hear. Thank fuck! I was about to continue what I was doing but a sharp pain shot through me as Misty grabbed my nipple and twisted. “Fuck, woman!” I hissed, pulling back and narrowing my eyes at her, only to find hers narrowed at me, in challenge but her lips spread into a broad grin.

“I’m going to spank your ass red if you keep that up,” I warned.

She raised an eyebrow at me, clearly not taking me seriously and daring me to do just that at the same time. I replied by dropping my shoulder and throwing her over it before I smacked her smart ass several times on our way to the bedroom. She shrieked in surprise, but the giggles took over as I made my way down the hall. The broad smile that spread its way across my face took me off guard for a heartbeat. Misty made me feel alive… and I wasn’t going to waste one moment with her.
