Chapter 251
Chapter 251
Hazel's POV
Everyone nodded at King Justin's explanation about wolf-sprite mates. His words perfectly explained the beautiful transformation we'd just witnessed with Soren and his mates.
The twins were practically vibrating with excitement as they tested their new forms, their wings fluttering delicately behind them.
Justin turned to me, his otherworldly eyes seeming to peer straight into my soul.
"I hear you've managed to draw energy from Grace and Skylar. Can you tell me about that experience?"
I described how during the hunter attack, I'd instinctively pulled energy from both of them, how their powers had merged with mine, creating that devastating energy that had torn our enemies to pieces.
"I didn't really understand what I was doing," I admitted. "It was like Lupa took over completely. I just knew we needed to protect everyone, and suddenly I could feel both Skylar and Grace's energies flowing into me."
Justin nodded thoughtfully, as if this confirmed something he'd already suspected.
"So your true ability is absorption?"
"I think it's more than that," Skylar interjected, drawing everyone's attention. She stepped forward, her expression serious.
"Honestly, I don't believe the combined energy of all three Guardians—if it were simply added together—could have caused that level of destruction." She exchanged glances with Grace before continuing.
"I have this strange intuition. Stargaze's gift represents precision; Seraphina's gift is raw power; and Lupa!" Her eyes lit up with realization. "Lupa's gift is absorption and amplification! She takes these powers and multiplies them exponentially!"
Justin's expression shifted to one of absolute astonishment.
His cheeks trembled slightly as he stared at me with such intensity that I began to feel uncomfortable.
"I have an idea," he said slowly, his voice barely above a whisper. "Perhaps your ability isn't limited to drawing power from other Guardians. Perhaps you can absorb power from anyone." He paused, letting his words sink in.
"Try drawing from me."
"From you?" I nearly shrieked, my eyes widening in shock.
"I possess healing abilities," he explained calmly, extending his hand palm-up toward me. "See if you can harness it for yourself. Try to sense my healing energy."
I glanced nervously at the others before stepping forward.
Steven gave me an encouraging nod, though I could feel his concern through our bond. I slowly placed my hand on Justin's outstretched palm.
"Use your power to sense," Justin instructed. "See if you can feel my energy. You are a Guardian. If your ability truly extends to all supernatural beings, then you should be able to draw power from me as well."
I suddenly understood why Justin had been staring at me so intently earlier. He was weighing whether he was willing to let me have this kind of power over him. If I learned to draw energy from him, I could potentially drain him of his power, even use it for myself. He was taking a risk, placing his trust in my hands. Considering the recent troubled history between elves and werewolves, I felt incredibly honored.
I closed my eyes, focusing on the warmth of his palm against mine. Lupa emerged, and together we gently tugged, trying to locate his aura and power.
"Your energy feels... saturated with healing and restoration," I murmured, almost to myself.
As I concentrated, I could see a soft yellow light gathering in my palm, pulsating with the promise of healing anything it touched.
"Try to amplify it," Justin said softly. "Release it outward."
"What?" I couldn't comprehend what he meant.
"Feel it with your heart. Let Lupa show her gift."
I squeezed my eyes shut tighter, feeling the energy building in my palm, growing stronger by the second. Slowly, I raised my hand, and the glowing yellow energy lifted from my palm like a kite soaring into the sky.
When it reached a certain height, it burst outward in a brilliant display, creating a luminous dome that expanded in all directions.
Everywhere the light touched, people felt a gentle, soothing wave pass through them.
Even the wilted flowers in the garden beds suddenly perked up, their colors becoming more vibrant.
Just then, Dr. Bell's frantic voice burst through our mind-link: "Luna! Did you see that just now? A warm yellow light just swept through the hospital, and all the patients—they're all recovering! Every single one of them!"
I stood frozen in place, completely stunned by what had just happened.
Steven quickly explained to everyone what Dr. Bell had reported. The revelation sent murmurs of amazement rippling through our group. Even Justin looked astounded, though there was also satisfaction in his eyes, as if I'd confirmed something he'd long suspected.
"It seems," he said with quiet reverence, "that we've only begun to understand the true extent of your abilities, Guardian Hazel."
I looked down at my hands, still feeling the lingering warmth of that incredible power.
What else might I be capable of? The thought was both thrilling and terrifying.
"We are only beginning to discover our true potential," Lupa whispered in my mind, her voice filled with wonder and pride.
As everyone continued discussing what had just happened, I caught Steven's gaze. His eyes reflected nothing but absolute adoration and pride.
No matter what powers I discovered, no matter how much my abilities grew, I knew one thing would never change—I would always use them to protect what mattered most.
Our pack. Our family. Our future.
