Chapter 110
Chapter 110
“I don’t think I know this one,” Grimm said, looking down at the flowers in his hands, “You’re going to have to help me out.”
“The meaning is in the name,” I replied.
“Baby’s breath, right?”
“Yes.”
Grimm’s eyes jerked up to meet mine and widened.
“Wait. You’re not…. Are you…?” he trailed off.
A grin split my face as I nodded vigorously.
“You’re pregnant,” he said in a hushed voice. I nodded again.
Grimm leaped forward and grabbed me up in his arms, hauling my body against his. Instinctively, I wrapped my legs around his waist and my arms around his shoulders. Tears prickled behind my eyes as I felt the surge of joy and love flowing from him.
Propping my on the back of the couch, Grimm pulled back to look at me. “Are we really going to have a pup?” he said, wonder in his eyes.
“We are. I know it’s not what we planned, but-“ he cut me off before I could continue.
“It doesn’t matter. I’m so happy.”
He leaned in and kissed me tenderly, showing my how happy he was about my news.
After a few moments of kissing and hugging, he pulled back, smiling.
“It doesn’t matter, but I’m curious. Does Tala know if it’s a boy or girl yet?” he asked sheepishly
“She can tell that? This early?” I asked. Grimm nodded, “I need to have a talk with that wolf about keeping important information from me,” I huffed and rolled my eyes. “I’ll ask.”
Tala. I sort of snapped at her. Why didn’t you tell me you know what the gender of the pup is.
She rolled her eyes back at me. It’s too early to know. All I can tell you is that we’re definitely pregnant, they are healthy, and will be here around Christmas time.
Oh, okay. Wait THEY?! THEY?! IT’S TWINS?! Ohmigoddess. Wait… it’s just twins, right? I asked, on the edge of having a panic attack.
“What is it?” Grimm asked, looking concerned at the length of the conversation I was having with Tala.
“Everything’s fine. Just give me a minute.” I reassured him.
Tala. Please tell me how many pups.
It’s just two. She replied, You know, real wolves in the wolf have four to six pups in a litter. I don’t know why you’re so worked up about just two.
Why did I have to end up with the sassiest wolf in the world?Ignoring Tala’s final comment, I turned my attention back to Grimm.
“Tala says it’s too early to tell but they both are healthy,” I informed him.
“Oh, that’s okay. Like I said I was just cu- BOTH?!” his eyes widened so much I feared they would pop out of his head as what I said registered with him.
I covered my mouth to hide the giggle, a slightly hysterical one, from bubbling up.
“It’s twins.” I confirmed. Grimm’s mouth was open, staring at me in shock. “Are you okay?” I asked when he stayed frozen.
“We’re having twins. Two pups.” He murmured. “Cam, do you know how rare twins are for werewolves.”
“No. But somehow I’m not surprised,” I said dryly. Once again, I was the outlier.
“Overachiever,” Grimm teased. He kissed me again before bending down and lightly placing his hand against my flat tummy.“My pups,” he said softly before placing two gentle kissing against my lower belly.
His gesture brought tears to my eyes, so quick I couldn’t stop them from falling. Sensing my emotion, Grimm rose and wrapped me in his arms.
“I love you so much, little mate. You have no idea how excited I am for our next chapter as parents,” He said as I nuzzled into his chest.
“I love you too,” I replied. “I’m really glad we have the rest of the week alone here to process this.”
He chuckled, “Yeah, I’m definitely still in shock.”
“Also, if I don’t call Amy back soon to tell her the news she might drive up here to find out.” I confessed.
“Amy knows?” Grimm asked.
I shook my head, “Not for sure. I called her this morning when I thought I might be pregnant and asked her about werewolf pregnancy symptoms. I left her hanging though. I told her you had to be the first person who officially knew if I was pregnant.”
Grimm smiled, his chest puffing up a little knowing he came first.
“Do you think she can wait a little longer?” he asked. His lips trailed up my neck and his hands slid around me, caressing my ass. “I’d really like to celebrate a little right now.”
Of course, it only took one light kiss against my mark to convince me to celebrate now and call Amy later. Much later.
