Chapter 107
Chapter 107
We broke apart, smiling at each other like fools, and Grimm turned us toward the pack, “Black Ash, I officially present you your Luna!” he shouted. Whistles and howls sounded all around us as the pack lauded their new luna. I couldn’t help but grin ear to ear at their reception.
Grimm unwound the cord from our hands, placing it back on the small table with the knife, then pulled me to him again, dramatically dipping me in a movie-like move for another kiss.
My mind was swirling with elation as he righted me, both us breathless and giggling.
Amy handed me my bouquet and I linked my arm through Grimms. We retreated down the aisle, leading the pack towards the lit path that would bring us back to the pack house where the feast and party was set and waiting for us all.
The rest of the night was a blur of dancing, talking with pack members, eating, drinking, laughing, kissing my mate, and more dancing until the sun started to cast its light into the pre-dawn sky.
Grimm scooped me up in his arms, bridal style, and carried me up to our suite where we made sweet, passionate love until falling into a deep dreamless sleep in the comfort of each other’s arms.
It was nearly mid-day by the time we woke, and lunch was being served when we finally untangled ourselves from the bed and each other.
Grimm wanted to stay in and have lunch in bed, but I felt it was important to be with the pack on my first day as official luna.
“Such an overachiever,” Grimm smirked at me as I finished pulling on my dress, instigating an eye roll in response.
“Are you ready for our moon-moon?” Grimm asked me as we enjoyed lunch in the dining room.
“I told you to stop calling it that,” I frowned at him.
“Never,” he replied as the mischief twinkled in his eyes. He took his phone from his pocket, checking the time quickly, “We need to hit the road in about an hour and a half.” He said.
“What?” my eyes widened, “Why didn’t you tell me? I’m not even packed. I don’t even know what to pack since you haven’t told me anything about where you’re taking me. Do I need clothes for warm weather, do I need a nice dress, a bathing suit?”
“Don’t worry about it. It’s our moon-moon. That means we’re going to be spending most of the time without any clothes on at all,” he stated, finishing the last bite of his steak sandwich.
“Grimm,” I cautioned, giving him my serious face.
“What?” he asked innocently, “I get my beautiful mate and new luna all to myself for an entire week and a half out of reach of the mind link. That means no work. No interruptions. What did you expect we were going to do?”
I sat back in my chair and crossed my arms.
After staring back at me for a good fifteen seconds, he finally cracked and a smile ticked up the corner of his mouth.
“Don’t worry, Amy offered to pack for you. You don’t have to worry about a thing.” He finally relented.
After clearing our plates, we headed back upstairs and I noticed two suitcases sitting by the door, ready to go.
“Those weren’t there earlier,” I mused.
“I told you. Amy took care of it.” Grimm replied.
Soon we were in the truck, driving down the highway and all I knew was we were heading north from the pack.
“Are you going to tell me where we’re going yet?” I asked about an hour into the drive. “And don’t say it’s a surprise again. Your secrecy is starting to make me nervous.”
“Don’t you trust me?” Grimm asked, mocking hurt.
“To a point,” I countered, making him laugh. “I’m starting to wonder if you’re not telling me because you don’t want me to argue about where we’re going.”
“Where could we be going that you’d argue about?” He asked.
I shrugged, “I don’t know… like a monster truck rally or something.” That was all I could come up with, and even then, I wouldn’t be too upset about it.
“I booked us a secluded, luxury cabin in Maine,” he finally admitted with a sly smile, knowing I’d love the idea.
“Luxury, you say?”
“Only the best for my girl. The cabin comes with a hot tub, fireplaces in the bedroom and living room, king size bed. We can have gourmet meals delivered to our cabin or a short walk through the woods will take us to the main building which has a restaurant, café, and spa.” He beamed with pride.
“Did you memorize the brochure?” I teased. “Grimm, that sounds so perfect,” I added, turning serious. I knew he could feel the rush of love I felt from the fact that he organized such a perfect getaway for us.
I settled back into my seat, feeling far more relaxed now that I knew where we were going, and watched the scenery passing the windows as we drove further north into the woods.
