A few days had passed since that dinner. They were unsettling days when I couldn’t sleep properly and always got excited whenever a message popped up on my phone, hoping it was from him. I shouldn’t even be feeling this way after the inappropriate proposals he made to me. Who tries to buy someone with money? I sighed, trying to push Órion out of my thoughts, but it was impossible—I caught myself thinking about him almost twenty-four hours a day. I knew this had already turned into a crush, one I could deny to everyone and even to him, claiming I didn’t want him, but my heart was screaming for the governor, completely surrendered to that seductive smile and ocean-blue eyes.
I grabbed the keys to my aunt’s apartment from the pocket of my backpack. I had just arrived from college, things were going well, and, surprisingly, Melissa no longer irritated me like before. Maybe her father had finally done his job and given her some manners.
“Goldilocks.” The deep voice behind me made my heart almost jump out of my chest. I turned around to face him, thinking maybe it was one of those dreams I had been having during the governor’s disappearance. But no, it was really him, right there in front of me.
“Órion, what are you doing here?” I asked, unlocking the apartment door.
“Can we talk?” I looked at him, seeing his bodyguards by his side. “Stay here,” he ordered them before following me into the apartment.
“My aunt will be back soon, you need to leave.” I tossed my backpack on the couch, and Órion put his hands in his pockets.
“I swear I tried, with everything I had, to get you out of my mind, but I don’t know what kind of spell you cast on my life, Goldilocks.” He took two steps closer to me and touched my cheeks, making my skin tingle. My body was already burning up, and even though I was a virgin, I knew that was a reaction to the desire I felt for him.
“Governor…” I sighed, but Órion placed his fingers on my lips, making me close my eyes. His touch was a cliff, and I was about to fall. “Don’t do this.”
“Look into my eyes and tell me you haven’t thought about me too, that you haven’t spent sleepless nights imagining what I was doing.” He pressed his forehead against mine and closed his eyes. I wanted to lie, needed to lie, but there was no way to escape it—that repressed desire, the craving he made me feel even when he was far away.
“Shit! This is going to end really badly for both of us.”
I completely let my guard down and pulled the governor into a desperate kiss. I felt my whole body burning, my panties soaking from so many nights dreaming of this moment and feeling completely surrendered to this man. Órion pushed me onto the couch, knocking my backpack to the floor. I smiled when he looked at me, slightly embarrassed.
“Is your aunt really coming?” He kissed my neck, making me shiver.
“Yes, you need to leave,” I whispered in his ear, but he grabbed my right hand, guiding it to his pants, placing it over his crotch. I could feel his hard cock even through the thick fabric.
“See what you do to me? I’m completely hard, Goldilocks. Squeeze it.” I did as he asked, feeling his stiff length. Órion looked at me, exhaling. “My driver will pick you up tonight. I’m taking you to a place I know you’ll love.”
“Governor, I need to tell you something.” He moved off me, and I sat on the couch, fixing my clothes. “I… I…”
“Go ahead, Goldilocks, I’m here for anything you need to say.” He caressed my hair.
“It’s just that I’ve never done it—” I looked into his eyes, and he laughed. “Don’t laugh at me, Governor.”
“Relax, you don’t need to be upset about that. Are you telling me you’re a virgin?”
I nodded. He kissed my forehead, gently stroking my hair as he pulled me into his arms.
“Don’t worry, I won’t force you into anything. We’ll let it happen naturally. If you ever want to give yourself to me, I promise I’ll be a true gentleman.”
“Thank you, Your Excellency. Now, you really need to go.”
We got up from the couch. He kissed me again, holding my hand, looking at me for a brief moment, and it made me wonder what was going through his mind.
“I can’t believe I’m doing this. I feel so good, so alive.” He kissed my hand softly. “Goldilocks, I promise I won’t do anything to hurt you.”
“I’m counting on that, Governor.”
We said goodbye, and he left. As I closed the apartment door, I threw myself onto the couch, feeling butterflies in my stomach. It was madness, but I had tried to run away so many times and nothing had worked. It was time to let it happen and wait for fate to take its course, to see where this feeling would lead me.
The hours flew by. I was so anxious for our date. My aunt came home just to pack her bags since she would be away for a week. As soon as she left, I rushed to my room and looked for an outfit, feeling excited—I wanted to impress him. I put on a fitted cocktail dress, elegant and with an alluring neckline, in black. On my feet, red block heels. I also wore delicate earrings with a single little stone, let my hair down, used a curling iron to add some waves, and sprayed perfume just before I heard the doorbell. It was one of Órion’s bodyguards. The butterflies in my stomach fluttered as I headed off to meet the governor.
After almost an hour, we arrived at Griffith Park. I couldn’t believe Órion had brought me to one of Los Angeles’ landmarks. As I got out of the car, I saw him standing there with his imposing presence, dressed in formal attire and holding a beautiful bouquet of red roses. He smiled and extended his hand for me to take.
“Saying you look beautiful tonight isn’t enough.” He took my hand and gave me the bouquet. “Goldilocks, you’re a masterpiece.”
“Thank you, Governor.” I looked around and only saw his bodyguards near the Griffith Observatory. “What are you up to?”
“Our date tonight will be different. I want you to get to know me better, and this is one of my favorite places.” We walked hand in hand into the grand building.
“I’ve seen some pictures, and I can’t believe I’m actually here now.”
“Come on, the director closed it exclusively for us,” he said like it was nothing—he had shut down an entire observatory just for our date.
Smiling, I walked in with the roses in my hands. Everything inside was magical, with various exhibits about the planets. What caught my attention the most was the Tesla coil. I handed the roses to Órion and ran to see it up close, mesmerized. My eyes sparkled when it lit up.
“Did you know this Tesla coil lights up every hour to show what one of the greatest geniuses of the 19th century achieved?” I said as I turned to him. He smiled, handing the bouquet to one of the bodyguards.
“I knew you’d love this place.” I looked at him before jumping into his arms and kissing him. It was more than I had imagined. “This is my way of apologizing. I know I can’t buy you with my money, but I want to win you over little by little. That’s why I brought this for you.” He pulled out the same little box from before. I sighed, not wanting expensive things from him. “Every time you look at it, you’ll remember me.”
“Órion.” Nervously, I opened the box, surprised—it wasn’t the luxurious bracelet from before, but a simple one with a small book charm. “Governor, I… I love it.”
“It’s something simple. I know you don’t like luxury and you don’t care about my title or my money, so I chose this bracelet. It suits you better.” He took the bracelet from the box, gently held my right arm, kissed the back of my hand, and put the jewelry on. “Look at it whenever you miss me.”
I kissed him again. Órion held me in his arms, our bodies warm, our breaths heavy. It was hard to resist a man as handsome as him, especially with all his charm. I stepped away when I saw a massive telescope and ran toward it, hopping with excitement—I could see the stars.
“I think I really nailed the location this time.” I heard his voice behind me as I leaned in front of the telescope, seeing the stars shine through the lens. They looked so close, it felt like I could touch them with my hands.
“Thank you, Órion. This place is incredible,” I said as I moved away from the telescope.
“No need to thank me, Goldilocks.” He came closer and kissed my forehead. “Let’s go to that room.”
He pulled me toward a side room, and when he opened the door, we saw a huge staircase. We climbed it together to the upper floor of the building. Órion opened another door, and when I looked inside, I saw a round table with dinner set on it. Once again, I was surprised—our dinner at…
