Chapter 91
Damien, who had begun to get too worried and slightly tired as he searched every possible place for Delphine, stopped a bit to calm down. As soon as he was calm, he searched everywhere in the pack once again, but still no sign of her. Seeing that she obviously was not in the pack or anywhere nearby, he expanded his search, outside the pack. Luckily for him, as soon as he found his way out of the pack, he sighted a figure that looked like her. Damien moved closer and with each and every step of his, the view got closer and he was finally able to sight her. He immediately rushed to meet her where she sat by the banks of the stream there, and she stared at the stream.
“Delphine?” Damien called immediately and he got to where she sat. She raised her head to look up at him, and without any word, she brought back her gaze to the stream she had been staring at before he arrived. “Delphine.” Damien called again. This time, he sat beside her and touched her on the shoulder but she shrugged his arms away coldly and sharply. “Will you let me speak before you make conclusions?”
“Make conclusions about what, Damien?” Delphine finally spoke as she tilted her head to the side to look at him. “Do you realize that this is not just about Katherine? I mean, it is about her also, but that is not the only thing?”
“Then what exactly is bothering you, Delphine? You know you can talk to me about literally anything. That is why you have me as your mate.” He said to her calmly, even though he knew where she was going and what she meant by Katherine’s issue not being the only thing bothering her.
“She did not deserve to die that way.” Delphine started, her voice a bit shaky. “She did nothing wrong at all! And I would keep saying it, that it was just like that ever since her birth. Why in the world would someone even want to kill the other ever since she was born? Who does that?!” Delphine exclaimed and turned to face him again. Her eyes teary as she spoke, she continued her rants. “It is so painful that she had to die that way, Damien. And what made it hurt more is the fact that she did not just die in the hands of a nobody, she died in the hands of my uncle! My very own uncle!” She exclaimed as she finally burst into tears. “Lord, I’ve never wanted to kill someone so bad.”
Damien sighed. He stroked his forehead countless times with no idea what to do and what to say at that particular moment. When he finally sounded his words, he moved closer to Delphine and filled the gap between them. Then, he placed his arm around her shoulder and tried comforting her. “Look, Delphine. This is not your fault, Malachi is evil, wicked, I don’t even think he is human. I do know, one day we’ll get our revenge on him and…Lord, I think he’s possessed.” Damien changed his words in frustration and though he didn’t mean it, Delphine provided a reply.
“Well, how would I know?!” Delphine raised her head as she spoke again, and once again, she shrugged Damien’s hand off her shoulder. “He left no explanation for why he did what he did! And it hurt me that we can’t take him down, that he has all the power to do what he wants! It is so unfair! She was my best friend, she was like a whole family to me, Damien, and you knew it! You knew it. Why did everyone then let her just die that way? Oh my.” She ended her rants and burst into tears once again.
“And that finally explains why you’ve been cold to me since her death. It was because it was Malachi, isn’t that why?” Damien asked her in a calm manner. “He is your uncle, Del, not mine. Listen, you’re obviously really angry, frustrated, you should calm down.”
“Plus you all did not even act like anything happened!”
“OK, that’s not fair.”
“Damien, that alone is even enough reason to be hurt. Things just changed abruptly after her death. You got weird to me and you even traveled, leaving things like that between us. Then, this whole Katherine issue. She suddenly showed up with your child! Like what! When does all this get better?” Delphine ranted on and on.
“Calm down, Del.” Damien started as he held both her hands. “Lila meant a lot to us.”
“But, I miss her.” Delphine muttered as she sniffed due to the tears she had cried initially.
“I understand. But you don’t have to walk alone, I’ll follow you. If you feel alone and you miss speaking to her, that’s why you have me as your mate, Del. You can always come to me and I’ll try to make you feel better, I promise you.” Damien said and dragged her closer into a hug, while she just nodded her head to show that she understands. Silence followed as Damien continued patting her back, and she just laid there enjoying the moment.
“I love you, Damien.” Delphine suddenly said out of the blue.
“I love you more, and you know it, Delphine.” Damien replied to her as he placed a soft kiss on her forehead.
“But at times, you make me doubt the love you claim you have for me.” Delphine started. “Because if you truly love me, you would try to not do things that would hurt me. But I don’t get how and why you get convenient while still doing hurtful things to me, and still making me feel bad, especially these last few days.”
“What is this about, Del? What have I done wrong this time?” Damien asked, looking confused. The only thing that could be the reason was probably the child Kate just brought in and claimed was his child. The fact that she backed her claims up with a DNA test as evidence only made things worse. He had no point to prove, and all he could tell Delphine as an assurance was that he would not leave her for Kate or for Kate’s child. Not now, not ever.
“Her child. Just why did you have to do that?”
“Trust me, Del. I knew nothing about the child till now and just how surprised you all are, that is also how I am surprised to see the child. I would have even denied it seriously, if not for the evidence she brought.” Damien said calmly. “But you should not be bothered about that, Del.”
“How in the world would I not be bothered about that, Damien? Just how? Do you not know the tradition? You are the alpha, at that. You would be made to make her your second wife and I don’t even think I’m ready to take in all that. Assuming she was a better human, it would have been even easier and simpler to adapt to staying with her, but then, she’s this spoiled brat with pride and a stupid attitude that I can’t live with!” Delphine retorted, raising her voice a bit at him.
“I’m sorry, Del.” Damien blurted out immediately which took Delphine aback. She knew Damien apologizes whenever he does something wrong or whenever he makes mistakes, but she just never expected him to apologize that early. She thought they would first argue and bicker before he might then choose to apologize, but this shocked her. “I am really sorry, Del, and I promise to make it up to you. Trust me, I ain’t choosing no one over you, nor am I going to leave you for anyone. It is you for me and it is always you. Nobody else.”
“Are… Are you sure about that?”
“Hundred percent, Delphine. A hundred percent. I love you so much and I would not let any mistake on my part ruin a relationship I have tried to build a future with. So, just put your mind at rest and besides, it is my decision, and taking her as my second wife is something I would never do.” Damien replied calmly and boldly.
“But Damien, that is the tradition and you know right?” Delphine asked him, looking confused.
“I know. That does not mean it cannot be changed. We would find something else to do about the Katherine issue that would not affect us, and that is my promise to you.” He said to her and she gave him a small smile.
“I love you, Damien. And I really appreciate this.” Delphine said to him and without replying, he brought closer his head and crashed his lips on hers as they had a slow and soothing session of an affectionate kiss. The calmness of the stream they sat by, made it a sight to see as they made out by the stream side. After their heated make out session, Damien lifts her up and carries her home.

Delphine couldn’t contain the excitement that budded as the night drew near. She took her time after dinner to soak into the various scents the maids had offered. While taking more time trying to envisage what the night would bring, delivering it till dawn. She couldn’t help but remember how many times she’s caught Damien’s gaze on her today.
They hadn’t been close for over two weeks now, and even though she had struggled severally not to fling herself into his arms. She knew they needed a little time on their own. Harold’s death had caused a lot of pain, and they had to mourn him.
But tonight, she thought staring out the windows as the darkness began to creep in, fixing a twinkle here and there in the skies. Tonight, she’d make up for the whole time they’d missed. Tonight, she thought as she strode gracefully to his room, a knock and she let herself in. Tonight was going to be one hell of a night.
Damien stood shirtless at the windows that overlooked the wide expanse of land, lost in thought. The night was upon them, a time for rest, but he didn’t feel at rest. He hasn’t been ever since his death.
He turned at the little creaking sound his door made, his eyes capturing that of his mate. He turned from the window, taking his time to appreciate how beautiful she looked tonight.
Her hair shone in the dim lights, a result of thorough brushing and treatment. Adorned in a little blue night robe, her hands clutched the sides nervously. She smiled when he stood before her, her white teeth bright, her eyes twinkled.
“Hi” She greeted nervously, slowly slipping off the fore robe, letting it pool at her feet in a noiseless abandonment.
“Hey” He replied, her smile was infectious. He smiled back, reaching up to her chin. He let his eyes travel down her body, resting on the breasts before him, then her gleaming eyes. Thereafter his hand traced her cheeks. His green eyes locked on hers, silently communicating. He bent, angling to the left, he sampled her lips in a sweet kiss.
She responded immediately, moaning as his tongue met hers. Damien groaned at the contact. He had missed her, his world did mid his mate, and mini Damien thought so too. He pulled her closer with his left hand, while his right held her head in place as he feasted hungrily on her soft plump lips.
Delphine felt as though she was drowning. She had missed having him kiss her like this. She reached for him. Her hands ran all over his naked torso, then his back. She whimpered when he left her lips, staring into his lustful green, she almost cried in satisfaction.
“I’ve missed you” He said between the gulps of air he snatched.
“I’ve missed you more” She stated breathlessly. He grabbed her with her at an alarming speed, flattening her against his hard body, he captured her lips delivering a bruising kiss, her lips tingling.
He placed his hands in front of her night dress, and without a single finesse, tore the material into two. She protested, her hands curling on his chest.
“I’ll get you a dozen of the same or different colors” He said amidst directing her to the bedside cupboard, only stopping when he felt a slight barricade. He left her lips, feasting on her neck with a ferocity that had her heart racing non stop. She could barely catch up, but she didn’t want him to slow down.
Delphine made futile attempts to unbuckle his belt. He playfully slapped her hands away, then lifted them so they rested on each side of his shoulders. His lips moved to her ears whispering “Touch me”. She obliged, running her hands all over his body as he sucked on her sensitive spot, his teeth scraped her mark, she flicked his hard make nipples, he groaned, licking the very place he had marked her.
Her legs buckled, but he held her still. Moving down to her pebble hard areolas, he sucked hungrily, then moved to her pectorals, then lower to her stomach until his face was directly in her sex. He slipped her panties down. His tongue traced her thighs upwards, then the lines of her folds and then he was back on his feet, his lips latched on a hard nipple.
Delphine could barely register his movements and before she knew it, he had her turned towards, palm flat on the bedside cupboard. Bending her so her round ass was positioned directly to his crotch. He deftly unbuckled his belt, pulling down his pants and shorts in one fluid move.
“Put your legs apart” he instructed gruffly, she obliged. He positioned himself at her rear, then grabbed her butt roughly. She whimpered. He slipped her fingers down her wet pussy, up and down he moved, causing her to squirm.
Pat! He smacked her thick flesh, she moaned out, wiggling for more.
“You like that?” he asked gruffly, smacking it again “Hmmm” came her reply. Without further ado, he positioned his hard member at her entrance, and impaled her with it. She let out a tantalizing moan, grabbing the edges of the bedside cupboard, as he withdrew and thrust with so much urgency.
Not giving her anytime to recover, he thrust in and out, making her squirm, whimper and then moan in ecstasy. The room carried the pat sounds merging bodies produced, the moans and groans twirled in the air, and her walls began to constrict.
“I’m gonna…” She stuttered incoherently “Not yet” he said, pulling out of her. He turned her to him, bruising her lips with a hard long kiss, then lifted her so she wrapped her legs around him, he took her to the other side of the room.
Her back against the coated wall, her legs around his waist, her hands painfully digging into his shoulders, his right hand against the wall for leverage, he fucked her senseless. Delphine screamed, moaned and chanted his name and just about when she soaked him in her waters of satisfaction, he spilled his seeds inside her.
They painted. Dragging oxygen into their deprived lungs, their eyes locked on each other. Sweat trickled down their bodies, overflowing from every pore. They kissed some more, slow and long.
“What time is it?” he asked out of the blue.
“A minus thirty, we’ve got all night” She replied mischievously.
“Good, cause I’ve got big plans” He said, carrying her to the bathroom.
