Chapter 109
When Delphine got home, like she had said, Damien was already waiting for her in their room, he was standing by the window looking out, but had turned to face her when she walked in. “Hey, where have you been? I was getting worried.” He was putting on satin pajamas showing that he had just had his bath, Delphine skipped over to him. She loved to breathe in his scent, especially when he had just had a bath and smelt of everything fresh.
“I went over to Romulus to speak to Uncle Paluma…How was your run?”
“It went well. Uh, I saw Ruby with Ryan earlier, I didn’t know she was around.” He laid a kiss on both of Delphine’s cheeks before releasing her.
Delphine nodded. She wondered if she should tell Damien about the fight Ruby said she had with Ryan, but decided against it, it wasn’t in her place to go telling everyone about it. “Yeah, I saw her too. She misses him.”
“I know, but…I was thinking of something earlier, it’s concerning the both of them.
“What is that?” she asked, curious to know if it was what she also had in mind.
He cleared his throat. “Ryan I was thinking I should let him go, he should be staying over there with Ruby his mate, yes he is the Delta of this pack and he will always be as long as he lives, but Luca is here, Daciana is here, you’re also here, he deserves a break.”
Delphine grinned. “You know I was thinking about this earlier myself. But my solution was more complex.” Now, she understood what Paluma had said. She wished she had met Damien with what was on her mind sooner. He had just wiped out the whole stress with his statement. She didn’t think he would be open to the idea so she had never brought it up.
He raised an eyebrow. “What was that?”
She chewed the inside of her cheeks, a bit embarrassed. “Bring Romulus close to Bloodmoon through the powers of the gem in the staff.”
“Oh wow.” He wasn’t expecting that at all, but he wasn’t surprised, Delphine would always find a crazy idea to bring a solution to her problems.
“Don’t laugh at me.” She hit his chest. “Paluma was against it though and he suggested I talk things with you and now it’s made things so much easier. Ruby would be glad when she heard Ryan is going to be staying with her…But are you sure Ryan would want to leave?”
“I think so. So now that we have that aside.” He moved closer to her, a mischievous grin on his face. “I’ve missed you.”
“No, you haven’t!” She pushed him away. “Stay away from me, geez you’re like a woman in heat.”
Damien gave a dramatic gasp. “Fine, I’ll go.” He chuckled. “But then it won’t always be available.”
“I’ll survive just fine, thank you.”
The next day Damien and Delphine had called for Ruby and Ryan to tell them about their decision, and like Damien had told Ruby the previous night, Ryan wanted to go, but was considering his people. “I can’t ask that of you Damien, will you really be okay with me staying over at Romulus with Ruby?”
“Sure, I mean it’s not a big deal. You deserve to be with your mate, you deserve to be happy.”
The two later went back to Romulus shortly after that, and didn’t even think about the decision for a second time. It was everything they wanted and now, Ryan felt comfortable knowing he would be able to stop all Michaels from going close to his mate this time.

“Are you back again to torment me?” Malachi questioned when he felt Delphine’s presence. “Fine, go ahead, have your fun.”
“I’m here to tell you I’ve decided not to wipe your memories again.”
He was surprised by that. “Oh, are you having mercy on me?”
She clicked her tongue against the roof of her mind, trying hard to stick to what she had just said and not lose her temper. Delphine was afraid, one more sassiness from Malachi and she would wipe his memory. “Not you Malachi, no, I’m not having mercy on you. I am having mercy on the man that will be when I draw the darkness out on you. That man had his whole life taken from him, has been a puppet under a dark spell for so long and although the mere sight of you makes me want to tear your heart out, I have chosen to forgive that man.”
“Nice speech.” He smiled, getting to his feet, but Delphine pushed him down again.
“You should say your goodbye,” Delphine told him.
Malachi huffed, already frustrated with Delphine pushing him down whenever he tried to stand up. “Say my goodbye? To whom?”
“To yourself, because from today you’ll be no more.” Malachi’s face was still scrunched up in a confused expression.
He was quiet after this, understanding what Delphine meant. “I see, and what if the real me still turns out wicked? What happens when you remove this darkness and I still want to go after your throat? What happens if the darkness is gone and I still want to kill you and everyone who is the reason I’m here? What if the first thing I do the moment the darkness is gone, I take a knife and stab your precious Alpha’s heart. What then, Delphine?”
“If any of that happens, I’ll kill you myself Malachi, in a heartbeat.”
“I am the darkness.”
“No, you’re not, now shut up. It’s time.”
When Delphine opened her eyes, they were all looking at her expectantly. “I am going to bring him out of the prison world now, everyone stay on guard, remember this is still Malachi.” They all nodded. She closed her eyes with them and began mumbling some spells under her breath.
The wind howled really round, carrying up a gust of dust and sending it on a roundabout journey like a baby tornado. Although the sky had been really clear a few minutes ago, now there were just dark clouds. In the midst of this, a portal was opened. They all waited quietly for Malachi to step out.
Once he stepped out, Damien stepped forward, standing before Delphine. Even though she could protect herself, he wouldn’t let any harm come to her. “Ah, if it isn’t the Noble Alpha,” Malachi said and his eyes went next to Daciana. “You know if I didn’t want you dead, you would have been the perfect chick for me.”
“Watch your mouth!” Luca snapped.
“Delphine, can you please draw out the darkness already?” Daciana said. “Or I would be tempted to draw out my sword and drive it through his heart.”
“Geez, calm down—fuck!” His words turned into a scream, Delphine had started and didn’t have the time or patience to wait for him. “Bitch!” He went down on his knees. Malachi twisted around in pain till he was facing Delphine fully, then he began to walk over to her, pulling himself forward with every strength he could summon. “Stop!” To him, he was probably doing his best and gone a certain distance, but to the people watching, he had merely moved an inch.
The surge got stronger, pulling the dark gaseous substance that pulled out of Malachi’s nose, ears, eyes. It was such a disturbing sight even Daciana had to look away. It went on for a really long time till finally Delphine got everything out.
“It’s done?” Damien asked her.
She nodded. “Yes… it’s done, actually I’m done, I’m hoping it works.” She walked over to Malachi, and kicked his hand. “Wake up.” She was holding a knife. If it didn’t work, she planned on killing Malachi herself.
Malachi let out a grumble and slowly raised his head up. His eyes landed on Delphine’s own, they weren’t black anymore, but azure blue, Delphine knew that this meant it worked. Like Damien when he had returned, Malachi didn’t remember anything. “Who are you?” he asked. “Where am I?”
~~~
Malachi was taken back to Romulus where he would be watched by Paluma till he had made sure it was okay for Malachi to move around on his own. Now, there was nobody stuck inside Delphine’s brain mumbling every second.
“Hey, you know what we should do?” He said turning to Delphine.
“What?” she asked curiously. “And please don’t say sex or I’ll unmate you.”
He laughed at this. “I was going to say, go to the city and… remember when you said you didn’t want the marriage till you were 20? Well, your birthday is this month.”
“You want us to have a wedding, a real wedding? Damien, you know that if we go through with it, it’s making everything official. We will become like a legal couple. Are you sure you’re ready to take that step?” He smiled, going down on his knees.``Oh Lord!” She squealed. “Are you going to propose to me? I didn’t prepare myself, what should I say?” She panicked.
“Hopefully yes?” He reached behind his pocket and opened the small ring case.
“Oh Damien, it’s beautiful. Can I just have the ring and not marry you?”
“Delphine be serious.” He laughed.
“I’m trying to, it’s not every day someone proposes and please save the speech you had practiced. Yes, yes! And a million times, yes I’ll marry you.” She moved a lot on her feet like she was running out of patience and let out a jump of pure joy once the ring was put on her fingers. Delphine jumped on him, throwing her arms around him, while dumping kisses on every part of his face. “I love you, I love you so much, Damien.”
“I love you too, Delphine.”
The End.
