Chapter 105
“Yes, I spoke to Delphine. We’ll send the troops to the west village first,” Ruby told Michael, someone she has appointed to help assist her with things around. Michael was also the son of an elder. “The damages there are much, after that we can go see the town square.”
“I know, you’ve said all this before.” He pointed out, turning to look at her.
Ruby raised an eyebrow a bit confused. “Really? Have I?” The look he gave her told her the answer she wanted. She sighed, rubbing her forehead. She wasn’t even that stressed, she had just been lost in her thoughts and it was all over Ryan. The guard who had been sent had returned hours earlier, and she had just been wondering how things were going over at Bloodmoon. She wanted to go pay a visit, but there was still loads of work waiting for them in Romulus, she wanted to finish them before she saw Ryan. “Don’t mind me.”
“You look sick,” Michael said walking over to her. “Are you?” He placed the back of his arm on her neck. “Maybe you should go get some rest.”
“What’s going on here?” A new voice said.
They both turned to see a young man had just entered, Ruby was so shocked by his presence, she couldn’t help but scream, making Michael move away, confused. “Ryan? H-how?” But he wasn’t answering her. He was looking straight at Michael.
Michael waved.”Hello…” But when he got no reply, he turned to Ruby and said, “I think I’ll just excuse myself.”
“Ryan!” She ran to him, throwing her arms around him for a hug, but he didn’t wrap his arms around her back. When it got awkward, she pulled back. “Okay, what’s wrong, did something happen? You look like you just saw a ghost.”
He rolled his eyes looking down at her, then back to the place Michael had exited from. “Who was that? Why was he touching you.”
She hit his chest, a bit offended that he couldn’t take time to hug her before asking questions. “You have to be kidding me, are you really jealous of Michael? He’s assisting me over here and was just checking up on me.”
“That’s all?”
“Yes. What were you thinking, we were lovers or what? You’re my mate Ryan. Even if other men show interest in me, you should rest assured that I won’t.”
He sighed, going back to hug her as she stepped away from his arms. “Oh, I’m sorry, I just…we don’t see each other everyday now, and I…just miss you.”
She was going to push him away, but she was tired. They came back together for another hug. “I miss you too,” she muttered, laying her head on his chest.
“Sadly I can’t stay for long. I have to accompany Luca tomorrow, we have a meeting to attend with some neighboring pack.”
“That sucks… But,” she looked up at him, toying with the buttons of his shirt. “Since you are here now, we should probably make do with what little time we have.”
Ryan laughed at the look on her face. “Get behind me horny woman, that’s not why I’m here. I wanted to discuss something with you.” He looked around. “That is if you are done here.” He looked to her desk, then back at her. She nodded, holding his hands she led him away.

“So, you’re just going to keep me here forever?” Malachi was a funny site, compared to how he appeared before. Give him a mirror and he wouldn’t even recognize himself.
“Not forever Malachi,” Delphine answered, watching him. He couldn’t see her because she wasn’t really in there with him, but she could see everything he was doing.
He let out a slow wicked laugh, one that would have scared her in the past, but now he was a pitiable sight and it came out more like a cry for help. “You won’t break me. Enjoy your time now, one day I’ll get out of here and have my revenge Delphine.”
“Revenge? You are still thinking about revenge?” she chuckled. “No Malachi, you see you can’t leave here unless I want you too. I’ve gotten my full powers now and I’m not afraid to use them on you. But about keeping you here? I am currently looking for a way to remove what that gem has done to you.”
He paused in thought for a while, before speaking again. “What in the hell are you saying?”
“I know what happened to you many years ago. You have also been possessed by the gem since you were little. Once I figure out a way to do it, I’ll draw the darkness out of you.”
“Then what? You welcome me into your arms as your family, your uncle? That is so sweet of you,” his tone dripped heavily with sarcasm.
“No, with all the evil you have done? After that I’ll have your memory wiped so you don’t remember me, Romulus or Blood moon, nothing at all. You’ll simply be a poor old man, who can’t even remember his name. Then I pray for your enemies, people who you have hurt in the past, see you and laugh at you. Oh, how the tyrant has fallen.”
“You wouldn’t dare!” Malachi shouted. “You butch! I swear if I get my hands on you!”
“Yes, I’ll Malachi. Don’t underestimate me. I had promised Lila’s mum that I’ll kill the man behind the death of her daughter, but here you are—alive. You do deserve death, but the only reason you’re being spared is because the gem made you this way. Goodnight Malachi.”
