Chapter 102
Malachi took this opportunity to stab Delphine, it instantly woke Delphine from her reverie just in time, but the knife grazed her shoulder. She bent over slightly because of the pain but she remained strong.
“You are just naive and dumb; do you think I want your pity? I am already who I am. I am powerful, I am strong, I am a god!” he shouted. He was smiling maniacally; his mind was already lost. The defeat must have been too strong to handle, it knocked him to insanity.
Delphine remained strong, she stood up from the ground and directed her angry words at Malachi.
“I am not pitying you. I just see it as a shame, you would have been great but you let your envy and hatred fill your heart, the gem intensifies what was already there. Do you really think I would pity a man who killed my family, my best friend and has tortured me all my life? I am no saint; I would deal with you as is see fit”
She raised her hand and punched him straight in the jaw. The shoulder that was bleeding already stopped and was healing slowly. Malachi felt the breath pushed out of his long. That punch was so tremendous it knocked the air out of him and also knocked his tooth out.
This was the fury of an angry woman.
Malachi laughed. “You are just trying to prove that to yourself. You think you are strong but you aren’t. You are a weakling, that gem made me powerful. You had the power naturally but you weren’t able to use it to save anyone nor were you even able to see it to do bad things. You are just useless”
Delphine was startled but that lasted for only a short period of time. Maybe before those words would have had an effect on her but not anymore. She remembered what Damien said in that imagination, “Lila doesn’t need a weak best friend. Avenge her.”
Delphine smirked at him. “You call me weak but you are no different. You were weak towards the gem and succumbed to its desire of envy.”
“That wasn’t my fault. It was all your mother’s idea, if she had just been patient, and played hide and seek another time maybe I would have been saved and be king, not her. It was all her fault I am here today. So, if you want to blame anyone, blame that useless mother of yours.”
“You are just looking for an excuse; you are a hypocrite. Did you forget that you were the one who came up with the idea of hide and seek”? Delphine rolled her eyes. “And please don’t call her useless, she was better than a scum like you.”
Malachi was upset, so upset that he wanted to kick her in the gut so as to watch her intestine spill off from her mouth.
Right now, they were both facing each other; they were the only colored beings in the black and white theme. Delphine was smiling gently as if she was looking at a child. Malachi was fuming, you could literally see the smoke coming from his ears. He had lost all rationality, he headed towards Delphine, dagger raised, ready to stab her in the heart.
Delphine had prepared a counterattack but what she wasn’t prepared for was the ankle she twisted to fail her at that moment. She thought everything was fine, she thought it was healed completely.
Delphine tried to hold back her stance which she couldn’t and fell backwards, her back hit the ground so hard, she felt it in her spine straight to her head.
Malachi was happy for this incident to happen, he raised his hand up high. Ready to stab into her chest.
“Good bye, niece.”
He brought his hand down almost hitting her heart when at that period of time, a blinding white light showed, piercing past through Malachi’s body.

Damien and the priest had already figured out what the staff contained, the next problem was how to access the magic to open a portal to the world Malachi had created. This was explained by the priest and Paluma.
It was said that Malachi could create another world with his mind, he could control every element in it. For now, that Malachi was powerless, he could not control himself neither would he be able to control his elements. So, it’s an eighty percent chance that Delphine had the upper hand here and the rest 20 percent would be Malachi would be able to control some of the elements, like hypnosis or making the human imagine something that is not there.
So, there is a possibility that Damien was feeling this fear from Delphine due to the fact that Malachi was controlling her mind. With all these explained, they got back to work in finding how to use the staff.
After a couple of hours, they were able to do just that.
“Finally,” Damien smiled. “I am coming for you Delphine.”
All these led to Damien opening a portal to Malachi’s world.
When he saw what Malachi was about to do, he used the power from the staff and pressed it through his heart.
Malachi was astounded, he fell straight to the floor. He didn’t die though; it was enough to make him lose consciousness.
Damien rushed towards Delphine and held her in his arms. He took in her scent and she took in his.
Damien couldn’t resist he kissed her, he kissed her so hard, their tongues touching. After that he kissed her head, her cheeks, her neck, her face.
Delphine giggled. “Okay that’s enough, we need to stop now and leave”
Damien nodded, he looked like a happy puppy who had been given a new bone to lick.
He picked up the staff, prepared himself to finish Malachi off.
“Wait…” Delphine interrupted. Damien looked at her and she looked at Malachi.” He wasn’t always this evil. I went through his memories, he was just an unfortunate child, he fell into the trap of the gem”
She looked at the staff Damien was holding. “That staff holds his power; I don’t really approve of you using it though…”
“It has been cleansed by the priest. All it contains now is clear white magic.”
“Oh, thank God. Anyways, I have a better plan. But for now, please get me out of this hell”
With that they left. As much as Delphine hated Malachi she couldn’t watch him die just like that when she found out it wasn’t his fault. She wasn’t that heartless, so she did what she thought best. She locked him in the state of her oblivion inside a world created by her. But inside that oblivion he would be forced to see memories that were not there. He would be tortured internally; he will survive though. He definitely will.
The pack was happy to hear that Malachi was gone, his soldiers were all gone and Romulus was free again. Everyone was jolly and that called for a celebration.
Delphine was inside her room with Damien, her head resting on his cheater. It felt like forever since she had felt such peace. Everyone was gone, even the old witch that had sworn to be with Malachi till the end of time had disappeared to God knows where. They were free.
After so long, they can breathe in that fresh air again.
