Chapter 116 CHAPTER 116

Chapter 116 CHAPTER 116
The Alphas ran out of the pack, heading in the very direction the hurricane was spotted.

Their hearts were racing after what they felt. It was shocking yet impossible to deny.

They really felt Aurora's pull. But how's that possible? Could it be that she's back?

Shaken, they ran with speed and finally arrived at the spot where a big gap was carved into the floor.

The sight almost had their attention, but it was taken by Lily and Elvador there with their flying horses and a wounded Steel crouching on the floor.

When they saw the Woolly beast, their hearts flew right into their throat, as Avara came to their mind immediately.

With Lily, Elvador, and Steel out here together, that could only mean that Avara is here.

"Avara... That call..." Hugo gulped as his whole body shivered.

He wasn't the only one who had the same thought in mind. Dean and Jay were on the same page with him, vibrating all over as all three stepped forward to the mighty carving in the ground, caused by the hurricane, and found Avara there.

But she wasn't alone.

She was unconscious, being carried by none other than Adira!

"Adira?"

"What is she doing here?" The Alphas growled with detest, storming into the crater-like hole.

Lily and Elvador just showed up before the Alphas appeared. They had seen Adira holding an unconscious Avara, and that left them staring in confusion.

"When did she get here?" Lily uttered, staring at her.

Even Elvador had no answer. He has been below the hurricane, watching over Steel while fighting off some demon bats.

He didn't see Adira coming by. Even Lily who was above, didn't see when she arrived.

It felt like a mystery.

"Alphas," Adira called with a smile when she saw them coming. She held Avara close and began approaching them.

When the Alphas got close, Jay didn't hesitate to take Avara out from Adira's arms, letting Dean and Hugo face her.

"What are you doing here?!" Hugo growled, frightening the maiden.

"What did you do to Avara?!" Dean snapped, taking a step closer, making Adira quiver back in fear.

"I didn't do anything. I only came to help, that's all," she answered with a sad voice, lowering her head.

The Alphas didn't believe her words.

"Help, my foot! You wanted to end her life but failed when you saw Sir Elvador and Lily!" Dean accused while Adira swayed her head, promising she was innocent.

"I swear to the Goddess, I didn't do anything to the Luna. Ask... Ask Doveris! She's my witness."

"Doveris?" The Alphas chorused in shock, as Adira told them that the sorceress was here.

"She'll tell you the truth. I didn't do anything to Luna Avara," she sniveled, wiping the back of her hand over her eyes.

Learning that the sorceress was here, the Alphas became so worried and turned to look at an unconscious Avara, fearing that something terrible happened to her.

Troubled, they decided to head back to the palace, sending Elvador to get Valerie quickly.

Elvador swiftly got on a horse and went to get sorceress Valerie. Luckily, the demon bats were no longer hovering in the sky.

They all fled away when the hurricane vanished. That's because they felt their support gone.

Their support, Doveris.

As soon as Elvador left, the Alphas didn't hesitate to dash back to the palace, feeling extremely worried about Avara.

Lily stayed back for Steel's sake. She completely ignored Adira's presence, leaving the maiden to walk back to the pack on her own.

Adira left that place with a dull look, but switched to a cunning smile, chuckling devilishly.

"It's a good thing I got there on time to act as Avara's hero. This will definitely help me get what rightfully belongs to me," she chuckled, walking with pride.

The reason why Lily and Elvador didn't see Adira was because she never came from the pack but somewhere safe, outside the land, created by Doveris.

The sorceress had planned to make Adira emerge out as the pack's savior, by making it look like she found the demon bats' new shaman and stopped him. But the plan flopped when the signal Doveris promised Adira, never came.

The impatient damsel kept walking back and forth, and only came out from her underground hideout when she heard a howl and saw the hurricane fading away.

She was confused and came up to the crater, where she surprisingly found Avara glaring at a terrified Doveris.

She was shocked and wondered what was happening and how Avara got there. But what stunned Adira more was how Doveris trembled and immediately disappeared, running away like a coward!

That's when Avara fell to the floor and passed out.

Adira felt troubled after seeing the sorceress flee. She also wanted to run away, but that's when a devious plan came to her mind, and she chose to go and help Avara, posing as her savior.

"The plan is still on, Doveris. I am not going to let that crown slip out of my hands," Adira said with an evil smile, stepping into the pack.

Meanwhile, the Alphas arrived at the palace and hurriedly took Avara to her bedroom, with Jay getting into bed to place her down.

But their clinginess and deep care for her safety wouldn't allow them to drop her completely.

Jay sat on the bed and held Avara close, while Hugo and Dean held her hands, staring at her with so much worry all over their faces.

"Avara, please wake up," Jay spoke sadly, kissing her on the head.

As all three stayed with her, praying she wakes up, Hugo who recalled the vibration and the howl, held Avara's hand tight and asked the others, "You felt it, didn't you? The pull and..."

"The howl," Dean completed, looking at him as he nodded.

"I think we all did," Jay said, holding Avara close with so much fear.

"I felt it too. That... That was Aurora. I heard her howl."

"We all heard it, and it came from the same spot we found Avara," Hugo pointed out as he dropped his attention on his unconscious mate, feeling his heart racing.

"Aurora called and we found Avara there. Could this be a sign?" Dean questioned while Hugo lifted her hand up to his lips, kissing it dearly.

Their hearts were troubled.

Aurora disappeared centuries ago, yet they felt her presence in the exact point Avara was found.

"Maybe the Goddess is trying to tell us something," Jay spoke, taking a long look at Avara's face.

That's when he remembered something that got his heart racing fast with desperation and eagerness.

"That day we called Valerie over to check up on Avara, I picked a scent from her body that felt off," he shared, getting Hugo and Dean interested.

Jay told them what he noticed. "Her scent went from human to werewolf in seconds."

That got Dean and Hugo's heart skipping, with their skin crawling.

"I thought it smelt familiar and took another sniff, but it was gone. All I could smell was her human scent."

"Are you sure it wasn't our scent?" Hugo asked, as Jay swayed his head, assuring them that it wasn't theirs.

"This scent was different and unique. But it faded and got replaced by her human scent." He stared at Avara with sadness in his eyes, caressing her face.

"I'm telling you, the heavens are trying to show us something. Like... Like a..."

"Like a puzzle," Dean completed, getting the exact words Jay was looking for.

"A missing piece of a puzzle. Think about it Hugo..." Dean called, facing him.

"You were the first to sense a similarity between Avara and Aurora when you saw her letter."

"Her writing style," Hugo pointed out, remembering that day.

He can still recall how stunned he felt when he saw it, flashing to the days he'd sit with Aurora and watch her write.

He was the only one who paid attention to every detail of her writing style, that's why he chose to let Avara join the quest. He was curious about her.

Jay didn't hold back either. He told them his own secret that only Aurora knows about, and how Avara somehow managed to ignite his naughty fantasy, stunning him.

When Dean shared his own story, Hugo and Jay were blown away because it completely proved something was off.

Dean told them how he and Aurora always pretend to be different people in his pack, just to spend alone time together.

He shared how Avara removed his disguise, telling him she recognized his touch.

All that they said, sent chills all over their body, as they thought about every other thing she has done that's been similar to Aurora from day one.

They couldn't keep it in anymore nor could their hearts hold back this feeling for another minute.

"It's her," The Alphas smiled emotionally, ignoring the fact that her whole scent reads human.

They didn't care. They believed Aurora was back. They were filled with emotions and couldn't wait for Avara to wake up.

Just then, Avara groaned in Jay's hold, slowly opening her eyes.

The moment they saw this, Hugo and Dean happily held her hand, as all three called out to her.

"Avara," they chorused, watching her yawn, before her eyes opened wide completely.

She stared at all three Alphas in confusion and asked, "What?"

The trio were still smiling with joy, leaving poor Avara totally lost.

"Why are you smiling? What did you do? Wait, how did we get here?!" Her eyes popped as she pulled herself out from Jay's hold, hovering her eyes around the room.

Before she could throw another question, all three threw their arms around her, locking her in a passionate embrace.

This left Avara confused at first, but she gave in to this sweet gesture from her Alphas, welcoming their love.

"Why are my Kings acting so emotional like I've been gone for ages? I just took a nap," she laughed, admiring their passion for her.

The Alphas didn't say anything but kept holding her, until she said something that struck them in the chest.

"Seriously, who snatched me away from Dean's room and brought me here? Wait is it... Oh my goodness! It's dark already?!" Avara exclaimed, jumping out of their hold, running to the window to look at the sky!

"How long have I been sleeping?! Why didn't anyone wake me up for breakfast?!" she lamented, turning to face her Alphas.

But all what she said left the Alphas stunned.

"Avara, what are you talking about?" Hugo asked, as all three got off the bed to meet her.

"You've been awake all day. You already had your breakfast and..." Dean paused when he noticed how Avara stared at them all lost.

Her facial expression showed she wasn't joking.

"Avara, do you remember what happened outside?" Hugo asked, waiting for her reply.

Glancing at their faces, Avara smiled cluelessly and shrugged, saying, "I haven't stepped out yet. Did something interesting happen?"

On hearing her reply, the Alphas felt a sting in their chest, as they realized what was happening to their Queen.

Her memories of that day are gone!

She doesn't remember the attack!
