Chapter 72 The Most Difficult Advice
Chapter 72 The Most Difficult Advice
Cecilia Blackwood's POV
Rowan quickly retreated two steps, her eyes filled with panic.
I didn't quite understand either. Was Ms. Moria about to take direct action?
In the next moment, Moria's wand traced a special pattern in the air, and then the classroom surveillance footage was pulled up.
This was the first time I'd discovered that surveillance could be accessed this way.
Moreover, as far as I knew, there wasn't any surveillance in the classroom. Could this be one of the magical wonders of the academy?
The surveillance footage showed that Rosie had indeed struck first, and I had only instinctively dodged to the side.
Furthermore, Rosie had only gotten hurt because she'd tried to follow up with another attack.
In other words, all of this was Rosie's own doing—none of it could be blamed on me.
Ms. Moria turned to look at Rowan. "Do you have anything to say now? Is this the kind of person your cousin is?"
Rowan swallowed hard and shook her head repeatedly. "Ms. Moria, this really has nothing to do with me. This was all Rosie's doing. Please, Ms. Moria, believe me!"
"If Ms. Moria doesn't believe me, I can swear to the heavens—if this has anything to do with me, then let me be struck by lightning..."
Before she could finish, Ms. Moria suddenly raised her hand. "There's no need for oaths, because I will investigate this matter thoroughly."
"If it has nothing to do with you, I won't wrongly accuse you. But if it does, no one will be able to save you."
Then Ms. Moria called me aside.
"What's your take on this?"
"Me? My take?" I was somewhat confused. "Shouldn't the school handle this? What I say probably doesn't count."
"Whether it counts or not, tell me what you think first."
To be honest, I didn't know what I thought.
I didn't want to be enemies with anyone. I just wanted to study properly and learn magic well, but it seemed like everyone was targeting me.
Was this the curse of the Ashworths? Of course, I didn't believe in that.
"Ms. Moria, I don't know what to do, but I want to know—according to academy regulations, what would happen to Rosie?"
Ms. Moria answered, "Bringing potions onto campus from outside and deliberately trying to harm someone—according to school rules, she would be expelled immediately!"
"Expelled immediately..." I hesitated. It wasn't that I was being indecisive, but joining the magic academy wasn't easy for anyone. If she were expelled just like that, it would be too much of a waste.
Moreover, if Rosie were expelled, the bad blood between us would run deep—between me and Rowan too.
"Ms. Moria, I hope you can spare her—at least not expel her directly."
Ms. Moria raised an eyebrow at me. "You're choosing to forgive again?"
I nodded. "Yes, perhaps this is the last time. Or perhaps it isn't."
"But when I forgave those three last time, they really didn't cause me any more trouble. Isn't that good?"
Ms. Moria smiled. "All right, then we'll do as you say. However, there still need to be disciplinary measures and corresponding restrictions."
Then she pulled a necklace from inside her robe and handed it to me. "This is a magic necklace. If you encounter this kind of crisis again in the future, it can protect your life."
I shook my head repeatedly. "No, no, this is too precious. I can't accept it!"
Ms. Moria forcibly pressed the necklace into my hand. "I'm telling you to keep it, so keep it. It's not that precious."
"The magic necklace plus Dodge Magic—ordinary people won't be able to hurt you."
Hearing the words "Dodge Magic," I looked puzzled. "Ms. Moria, you know about Dodge Magic too?"
Ms. Moria nodded gently. "Of course. This is magic that Marina created herself. Among movement-type magic, it's top-tier!"
I instinctively lowered my head, already prepared to receive Ms. Moria's rebuke.
Although the academy didn't have explicit rules stating students couldn't associate with Dark Mages, everyone actually knew this unwritten rule.
I was already closely associated with Kane, and now I was even learning magic his aunt had given me. She would definitely be angry!
But it turned out I'd overthought it. Ms. Moria didn't mention this matter at all, only shifting the topic to Kane.
"What are you planning to tell Kane about this?"
I answered honestly, "I don't want to tell him, but I'm afraid I won't be able to hide it from him."
Kane was already perceptive, and with this matter having blown up so big, hiding it from him would be nearly impossible.
Ms. Moria spoke up. "You really can't hide it from him. You can tell him the truth, but I hope you can talk to him and keep him from losing his temper."
"Once he loses his temper, he's capable of anything. If he really goes too far, as the principal of Starhaven Academy, I'll have no choice but to expel him."
"As a friend, I hope you can have a good talk with him."
I nodded firmly. "Ms. Moria, rest assured, I'll definitely do my best!"
Rosie was still having her wounds treated. I didn't pay her any attention and instead went to the door of Kane's classroom.
The moment I arrived at the classroom door, the bell rang. Kane rushed out at top speed.
Yes, the teacher hadn't even left the classroom yet, and he was already at the door.
Seeing me standing at the entrance, Kane paused slightly. "You... what are you doing here?"
In the next moment, as if he'd thought of something, his expression changed instantly. "Did something happen in class? Were you bullied?"
I nodded gently. "Yes, there was a small incident in class."
Kane gripped my shoulders with both hands, his urgent and intense gaze fixed directly on me. "What happened? Are you hurt? Who did it? Tell me!"
I could feel the rage rising in Kane's heart—or rather, it had already reached its peak!
It seemed Ms. Moria was right. I really did need to talk him down. The only problem was that this persuasion would be extremely difficult.
I gently pressed down with my hands. "Don't get worked up first. I'm fine. If you don't believe me, look—I'm perfectly all right, aren't I?"
"It was just a small incident in class. A student accidentally flung some corrosive potion at me, but I dodged it."
"I really have to thank Marina for this—and you too. It was you two who helped me successfully master Dodge Magic, which allowed me to avoid disaster."
I tried to act as casual as possible, but the worry and rage in Kane's eyes didn't diminish in the slightest.
"Who was it!" Kane spoke each word deliberately. Right now, he was like a bloodthirsty beast about to go berserk!
I quickly grabbed his hand. "Don't get too worked up. Really, it's nothing. Maybe that student just made a mistake. Besides, she's the one who got hurt, not me."
"Please promise me you won't pursue this matter anymore, okay?"
"No!" This seemed to be the first time Kane had outright refused me.
"Some people need to be taught a lesson, or they'll never learn!"
"Leave this to me. I'll definitely get revenge for you!"
Kane turned to leave, but I reached out to stop him. "Calm down!"
