THE DWARFS
CHAPTER FORTY-NINE
IN A FARAWAY REALM OF DWARFS.
GRAY JAYS POV
"Father I can't do that, I'm among the Jay family but we still fight for the integrity of the people, aren't we?" I asked my father as he sat on the throne. He looked at his youngest wife who was way taller than he was.
I'm Gray Jay, the only surviving son of my father, Simon Jay. Hope you saw that well, I'm the only one surviving, meaning there were other sons.
Well if I have to go back to the old times when I wasn't even born, I doubt my father was born too. But he claims he witnessed it.
The Sorceresses, Vampires, witches, wolves, and of course other creatures like the Dwarf, were living together. Mind you, we aren't just some powerless Dwarf, we have the power and the ability to possess people's minds by just looking at them.
Anyway, I'm not going to delve into how powerful the dwarfs are. When that great fight between the Sorceresses, witches, and the humans came, the dwarfs backed the vampires and werewolves up although we didn't take part in the creation of the Gem. But they seem to forget we were there during the creation of the Gem, if it was during the fight we lost almost half of the Dwarf and we get no credits. It's shameful that there's a war for the Gem and I think we, the Dwarfs, want to be among the people that's fighting for the possession of the Gem. And I know for sure, we are going to get the Gem and possess all the powers of the witches and Sorceresses combined.
But we do not have a plan, all the plans we have been doing have failed, and now my father wants to send me to their realm, to look for the Gem. I was scared because all my brothers had gone but they never came back. That's why I'm the only surviving son because we consider them dead. My father has married many more women but all they give him are daughters and stillborn sons.
I stood there looking at my father, as he kept smacking the asses of all his wives and concubines. "If you don't go, I'll send one of my daughters to go, and she will be the heir to this realm" he threatened.
I didn't care about the threat though, my father would never allow a woman to rule, which I do not particularly support, but as it is I have little say.
I sighed heavily, as there was no other choice left for me, it's either I kill or become a fool in my realm, a prince to a fool, is a story I don't want to tell my children, although I have none, I have someone I truly adore.
She will cry and grieve hearing that I'm going to the realm of humans. Humans are monsters. I even heard in some stories that they also give birth to Dwarfs but their Dwarfs are powerless just like them. When I get there, I'm going to behead any ham that comes my way and send their heads to my father, so he can drink wine from their skull.
"I'll go Father, but if I die, cry for me," I said and he burst into laughter. All his wives and concubines joined in, and I'm sure they didn't find it funny. But they must laugh when my father laughs, it is absurd.
I walked down the stairs as my sword rolled on the floor making an unpleasant noise, normally my father would complain and scream saying, "Sheath that sword you Dwarf, you are truly half a man" but today he didn't. He knew I wasn't happy about going to the human realm.
When I got to my room, I collapsed on my bed, thinking of the strategy I'd use to get the Gem.
I'm a very tricky Dwarf, my father knows it. He initially wanted to send me to the human realm first but my sixteen elder brothers won't allow the last child to fight for the realm when they are still alive.
My tricks come whenever I need it, maybe it is a gift from the gods, both the old and the new. I took my map and started planning my way around the Human realm. I hear the Gem is with a child called Denise Lane and she's a werewolf, or rather a hybrid. People will be surprised how the Dwarfs hear so much news. We hear it when the birds of the air gossip. We hear the whispers of the birds, and that's how we get our information. I have heard them say my brothers are dead, that's why I believe they aren't.
They say Denise Lane is the keeper of the Gem, but she's just some sixteen-year-old girl who knows nothing. If Lucas leaves her side, I'm going to be able to trick her and get the Gem. I hear she's very trusting, little does she know that no one, not even her mother, can be trusted.
I don't know how to remove Lucas from this math, removing Blanc her vampire mate will be very easy, knowing that they are in love, it's easy to put them against each other but having Lucas there, I can't do that.
I was in my thoughts when I heard repeated knocking on the door, I heard my guards saying, "he is in his thoughts my Lady" but the person still kept on knocking ignoring my guard.
I know one that was Lysa Jay. My younger sister and the only woman I have ever loved. Don't judge me, I don't believe in incest. Loving someone isn't what we plan for, I did not plan to love her, and I'm not going to explain to anyone how I fell in love with my sister.
I don't know how my father might take it, and I don't care. We aren't from the womb at least, if only my father didn't have many wives, we wouldn't have been related at all. Well the deed has been done, she's still seventeen and I'm waiting for her to clock eighteen so we can get married. If you are wondering how old I am, I'm thirty-five years of age.
I came down from my bed to open the door, truly it was Lysa who pushed the door open in anger.
"Are you truly leaving? '' she yelled, with tears in her eyes threatening to fall. I closed the door and told my guards to leave the entrance, so they don't hear what we are about to discuss, although I suspect they already know we are in love.
"Sit down, let's talk, my love," I said and she pushed me head again.
"Don't call me that, just answer the question I asked, are you leaving to the human realm in search of the Gem?" She asked again, the tears Falling freely.
For the first time, I regretted the fact that we could hear the whispers and gossip of the birds of the air, the birds gossip a lot, we don't even need a town crier in our realm.
"Yes, but I'll be back, I swear to you," I said and Lysa broke down in tears, I didn't know what to do at that moment because if I got any closer to her, she might kick my balls from its position, she is a very aggressive girl, that's why I fell in love with her in the first place.
"You know if you leave, there's no coming back huh?" She said, her voice filled with bitterness. It hurts that I can't assure her I'll come back alive with my head in place.
"I don't know, you can never tell," I said, hoping my assurance would make her stop crying but it didn't, she wept repeatedly, after hearing that.
"What of before you come back, Father had married me out to another man, I'm already ripe for marriage, I have been bleeding since I was thirteen, but I have ignored all other suitors because I was waiting for you to own up as and tell father how we feel about each other," she said still weeping profusely.
I didn't even think of that, If Father dared to marry her to another man, I cut his head and the head of that man and wait for his punishment.
With that, I bent down and carried her face up to look at me, "No man will see your tits before I do, if that happens, I'll behead the man using his skull as a wine drinker, that I promise you and I swear it with my life, using the old and the new gods" I said and she chuckled a little bit amidst her tears, I little hope and happiness came toe only by hearing her chuckled.
"You can't be so sure my Lion, I have an idea, and that will make us stay together, forever," she said, with a little smile.
My heartbeat became faster than normal, Any idea that Lysa gives is always mischievous and not convenient at all but if I don't hear her idea she might resent me forever, "shoot at it already" I said, because of her silence, felt suspense and I hate suspense.
"I am coming with you" she stated and I looked at her surprised. I was speechless at this moment.
