Chapter 43

Lucy's POV

I hurried over to a separate room in the house where we were and cleaned my bleeding nose. I was stressing too much, and it was terrible for me. I rummaged my bag for my pills and, seeing it, used some and gulped down a bottle of water. Just then, my phone rang. I picked it up, and it was Tricia calling.

“I can't do it!” I yelled as I picked it up.

“What do you mean, you can't do it?? It's not that hard. Just eliminate Natalie and you'll be fine.”

“I just told you, I can't do it. I'm not a killer.”

“Oh really? You're not going to do it. So then what? You're just gonna let what you've been working hard for go to waste? Why did you start it if you knew you weren't going to end it?

“I... I don't have to strength too.” I muttered, biting my lips.

“Take it easy on yourself, Lucy. It's not that hard, just go over there... Put the bullet in her head and boom, she'll be gone, goodbye. Now go, I won't repeat myself.”

“Okay... I muttered, and I stood there as the line went dead. It's okay... I can do this, I muttered to myself.

One of the boys over there came over to hand me a gun and with shaking hands I collected it, checking and finding out there were bullets in the stuff. I cocked it and placed it behind my back pocket, taking in deep breaths.

Bella's POV

We were together in the house with Tricia, and we heard the call she made. Uncomfortable with the conversation, I spoke up.

“What exactly are you planning to do, Tricia?” I asked, and Celine glanced at me.

“None of your business.” She replied.

“It has nothing to do with anybody dying, does it?” I prodded further. She turned to me, frowning.

“And what it does?” She retorted. I scoffed, shocked.

“Seriously? You are planning to kill someone right now? And I thought the stunt you played two years ago was the height of it!”

“This is none of your business. Besides, you were the one who brought up the idea, so like it or not, you have a hand in it.”

“Well... “I said, standing up. "If that's the case, I'm out,” I said and walked out of the room, making a quick call to Ariana. She said she'll be here any moment from now.

“Where are you??” I muttered into the phone.

“Almost there, just hang in there a bit.” She replied, and I hung up. I dallied a bit and when I heard footsteps approaching me, started walking towards the door. A hand drew me back.

“Where do you think you're going?” Tricia asked, fire blazing in her eyes. I looked at her and folded my hands.

“To call the cops,” I said calmly.

Ariana's POV

Almost there... I muttered to myself as I made it to one of the windows in Tricia/ Lucy's house and opened it. Getting in wasn't that hard except for a few security issues here and there? I had worn a black overall and a mask too, so even if I get caught, no one will recognize me that easily.

Finally, in the house, I began walking stealthily, searching for Tricia and her crew. I soon heard a bunch of raised voices and I followed it from where it came.

And bingo. Tricia was there... Arguing with Bella. Well, that's none of my business. Time to do what I came here for. Wearing an oxygen mask and bringing out a tranquilizer... What I like to call a sleep spray, I knocked Celine out first who, by the way, was unaware that someone was behind her. She felt dizzy for a while before finally sleeping off. Bella noticed me and made a smart move of moving quite far from Tricia while I hit her from behind.

Furious, Tricia turned to me.

“Who the hell are you?” She asked, petrified. I smiled and said,

“Your worst nightmare... And I'm here to do what you did to Lucy two years ago” Before spraying the tranquilizer all over her and watching her fall on the floor, unconscious. After a while, Bella walked to me. I threw her an oxygen mask, and she wore it.

“How long is she going to be out?” Bella asked.

“9 to 10 hours, maybe. Just keep watch over them. Phase 1 is complete, and all that is left is Natalie's part. “I said.

“I hope that's successful,” Bella said.

“I hope so too. I muttered.

Xavier's POV

If someone had told me two months back that I would be going out with Xander to like... Probably rescue the girls that we loved, I'd probably have laughed my brains out and said it wasn't possible. But that was exactly what we were doing... And that's the craziest part.

We arrived at the place that the GPS probably pointed at us and stared at the house.

“Not bad looking. “Xander muttered, and I glanced at him.

“So what are we supposed to do now?”

“Go in?” He asked. I looked back at the house and shrugged. Go in, was all we had to do, but then...

“Don't you think this is a bad idea? Like doing this alone??”

“You heard what Ariana said.” Xander began. “We can't risk Lucy's health. Besides, Lucy hasn't gotten all that evil... We can still turn that around.”

“I still think it's a bad idea,” I muttered.

“Look... I'm not going in without you, so whether it's a bad idea or not, we just have to do it. So are you in or not?” He asked, looking at me straight in the eyes.

I heaved a sigh and nodded.

“Okay, I'm in,” I muttered.

“Good. “He said, and we walked out.

Natalie's POV

I sat on the chair and pretended that I was still tied in it. Soon the door opened, and Lucy walked in and the countenance in the room changed. It felt kind of bad like evil was lurking around, and it was not a good feeling.

“Lucy...” I called gently. “What are you planning to do?” I asked, and I saw her shiver... She was not herself.

“Oh... Nothing you should worry about. “She muttered. “I just want to end this once and for all.” She added.

“And that includes releasing me, right?” I asked. Slowly shaking her head.

“No... It doesn't include that at all.” She replied coldly. I scoffed and looked away, and my eyes caught something that made my blood run cold.

“Oh my God, no!” I said, standing up, running, and pushing her to the wall. She was startled at first but then began to fight back, but I was way stronger than her. I pressed her hands together and pulled out the gun from her back pocket. It was fake alright, but it doesn't mean it couldn't hurt people.

“What the hell are you doing with this? “I asked as I threw it to a corner. She was already crying.

“I don't know! I just wanted to end this once and for all!” She lisped.

“Well, this is not the way to end it!” I said back. “This isn't you Lucy, we have to find that you back!” I muttered, holding her cheeks. Damn Tricia! Who does this to their stepsister?? She broke down and started sobbing loudly and I held her in my arms until I heard hurried footsteps approaching our room. At first, I thought it was the people I hired, but I was surprised when I realized who it was.

“Xander? Xavier?? What are you guys doing here?” I asked and felt Lucy freeze in my arms. She slowly looked up and widened her eyes.

“We came here too....” Xavier stopped.”. What the hell happened here?” He asked, instead.

“Um, nothing. Well, now that you're here, let's get the hell out of here.” I said and tried to pull Lucy up, but she wouldn't budge. I glanced at her and saw she was staring at Xander... Her gaze unseeing. Oh my gosh... This isn't good.

“Lucy... What are you doing?” He asked softly, but Lucy wasn't in her right mind so she couldn't think properly.

“He found me again, Natalie. He's done it again. I am a terrible person.” She muttered against my chest. I groaned internally. Two years of therapy have officially gone to waste.

“You're not a terrible person here... I swear you aren't. Tricia is.” And she looked up at me, her eyes angry.

“Tricia is here?” She asked, anger evident in her voice. I shouldn't have said that.

“No, she isn't....” I didn't get to say the rest as Lucy had already scrambled up to her feet and scattered her hair as if searching for something.

“I am going to kill her myself...” she muttered, running her hair.” That witch... Pink monster with green eyes, she's going to get it from me!” she mumbled to herself. I glanced at Xander confused. He looked at me.

“She's completely lost it.” He whispered. “We have to get out of here.”

“But we can't leave her like this!” I said back.

“She'll calm down... Eventually. But doing anything right now will only add fuel to the fire.” He said and motioned to the door. I nodded and made to leave, but froze, remembering what I saw earlier.

“No... We can't leave.” I said. Xavier looked at me, confused.

“Why? You heard what he said.”

“We just can't. We have to find a way to stop Lucy. There's a gun in this room!” I said, and it looked like everyone in the room had been electrocuted. No one moved or did anything.

“Did you just say... A gun?” Xander repeated.

“You heard me... And that's what she's looking for. She thinks Tricia is here.”

“Looks like we are a bit too late,” Xavier muttered. “She's seen it.” He said, and we looked at her. Truth be told, she had seen it and was holding it dangerously, pointing in every direction.

“Where is that witch? Come out here and let me give you a taste of your own medicine!” She yelled to no one in particular. In that split moment, Xander did the unthinkable. He rushed over to her.

“Xander! No!”

“Xander! “Xavier called out, but Xander wasn't listening. Xavier tried to push away, but just then Lucy fired the bullet.

I closed my ears as a result of the loud bang, but when I opened it, it was not a pretty sight.

Oh my God, no!
