Killian of Present time.
I hurried towards Saskia’s house in the middle of the forest. Her place was still there and I was thankful it was.
I was confused by everything that was happening. Why did my future self change his course? I worked hard to lay everything he needed, so by the time he appeared here, everything would be very easy for him. And now, this was all he would do?
Yeah. Right after meeting my mate, all that I had in mind was the mission to kill her. If my past self couldn’t do it, I decided I would.
But when I looked into her eyes, I was stunned. It hurt me so bad seeing how her emotions were on display in those beautifully shining green eyes. She was stunned, disappointed, and deeply hurt. The kind of pain that shows when someone you deeply love betrays you.
And right then, I felt this powerful pull that I had when I first saw Laura. Only it’s more powerful and more evident now.
I shifted back to my human form when I was across Saskia’s house. The moon was already hiding in the night sky, if not for the situation and Corbin didn’t appear at the right time, I might have killed her.
“Your Highness, what seems to be the problem that you came without notice?” Saskia opened her door widely.
After I came back from time traveling, I never set foot here again.
I entered her enchanted house and continued straight to the couch. I missed being here. It's been more than ten years since the last time.
“I want the same tea,” I breathed.
Saskia raised an eyebrow but didn’t say anything. In a flick of a finger, her things in the kitchen were moving on their own. It ended with a tea cup and saucer floating in my direction. I took it and sipped on it.
And right then, I felt the calmness it always gave me. It’s been a decade since the last time I felt as restless as this. I thought I got immune to this kind of emotion but it turns out I didn’t.
“So, what’s wrong, your highness? It’s been a while since you asked for my tea.” She sat across from me. “It must be very important that you came here in the middle of the night.”
“Yeah. I shouldn’t be here if I didn’t sense her coming,” I sighed and started to sip again.
“I assumed it’s Laura’s reincarnation that you were talking about?” I decided not to answer that. She just stated the obvious. “Tell me, what does she look like? Was she still the young Sabrina’s version?” she excitedly asked. She sounded like she could not wait to meet her.
“She didn’t. She was beautiful but in a different way.”
Way, way beautiful.
I heard a disappointed sigh. “Really? I liked her face before.”
“You’ll love her face now. She’s breathtaking—”
I secretly hissed upon realizing what I just said. I saw Saskia’s teasing smile. I shrugged it off, making it appear like it’s no big deal to me, really.
But I knew, even how much I tried to hide it, I could never win against her keen sense. She already told me that she knew when someone was lying. It was the smell of steam coming out from someone.
Ugh! She was working really well with scents.
“So, what seems to be the problem? You saw her, have you done what you're supposed to be doing?”
“I didn’t.” I shortly answered. I didn’t want to even go further. It pissed me off.
Well, I didn't know what really pissed me off. The fact that I could not kill her? Or the fact that I was deeply affected by the pain in her eyes?
“You can’t.” She teased.
I couldn’t remember what happened to our bet when I traveled back to my present, ten years ago.
Traveling back, I slowly forgot what happened to my travel to the future. All I could remember was the fact that I promised someone one thing: Forgotten or not, you will always be my Luna.
That means, I met my Luna on my journey to my future that was supposed to be in this timeline. And I forgot about her when I traveled back. Saskia said it was the law of time. I was supposed not to remember what happened in the future because it should happen in its own natural way. I couldn’t break what was supposed to happen. The memory would only come to me when the time is already happening. That meant it was the law of time that made me forget about my Luna.
I wasn’t even sure if I succeeded in my mission of killing my mate. Or maybe I did.
I should.
Maybe after killing my mate, I met my Luna. Must be a chosen mate, a chosen Luna of my choice. I didn’t know.
Even though I tried to remember what really happened during my travels, I couldn’t.
And because I was worried that I would not get any help when my past self traveled to the future, I decided to enter the human world’s business. It wasn’t that hard to build my own business empire considering all the knowledge and skills that I had. And for the humans not to question my power and authority, everything I built was named after my father—who didn’t show his face to anyone.
I paved the path for my past self… for him to fulfill his mission. And so, when he met my Luna, he would not be broke. And since Saskia said, what was meant to happen, should happen, I went to Forks Town to give way to my past self.
And sensing that girl here, it was beyond my expectations. I could even feel the danger swirling around her. I shouldn't care any less, but I did. So, I hurried to Remus Pack to confirm what I sensed from afar. My goal was still the same—to put her life to an end, but I could not. Maybe because I wasn’t supposed to be the one to do that.
She shouldn’t be here and my past self should be taking care of her. I wondered what was going on. Maybe he already met my chosen Luna and was busy flirting with her?
I suddenly straightened myself. Could it be?
