Yzabelle.
“Huh?” He looked at me, blinking innocently. “Didn’t you say you thought I joined your class to pester you? I just answered you.”
“Wait! That was all in my head!” I insisted.
“Oh?” Killian forced a laugh. “Geez! You seemed to be confused here. You just mixed what you just blurted out and what you were keeping in your head. I can’t believe you. You should gather your thoughts,” he said, chuckling while looking away.
He seemed so uneasy that he got up from his seat and went straight to the kitchen.
I was still greatly confused. Did I just mix everything up? Or was I right that he could read my thoughts?

Killian.
“When are you going to finish your stuff? Let’s go to the mall, after.” I told Yzabelle while preparing her food.
If my Lycan King found out I was doing all this for my assassin, he’d definitely fly off the handle. His only heir was serving a human.
“What are we going to the mall?”
My eyes flew towards her. She was still slumping at the fur carpet, looking too confused. Well, that was my fault. I kept on throwing her into confusion.
If telling her straight the truth wouldn’t work, then I’d make her confused until she was the one to find the answer and look for the truth.
“To refresh your mind,” I answered.
Yzabelle shook her head and continued with her paperwork.
“I don’t need that,” she declined.
I frowned. “Okay, can we just do the normal things humans do? Most people your age spent their weekend chilling out.”
“Well, news flash, I am not one of those ‘most of my age’,” she stubbornly answered. “And can you please stop talking like you are not human yourself?”
“I’m really not,” I shrugged.
Yzabelle gave me a warning glare. I smiled at her.
“I want to go to the mall,” I insisted.
“And?”
“I don’t have company.”
“I thought you made company with your ‘charming admirer’?” Her tone was sarcastic.
I secretly groaned. Here we go again.
Was she still mad about that?
Well, that was my fault. Why did I even plant wrong thoughts in her head? Now she seemed to talk about it every time she got the chance.
“Come on, how long are you planning to get jealous of someone you did not know?”
There, I think I hit it. Yzabelle suddenly stood up.
“Alright. Let’s do that. Let’s go to the mall,” she said and continued to her room. “I want you to be ready by fifteen,” and she shut her door.
“What about breakfast?”
Yzabelle didn’t answer. But I could hear her thoughts.
‘That brute! He kept on provoking me!’
I grinned and quickly went to my bedroom. I guess we’ll have breakfast outside.
I suddenly felt like sighing. How I wish I could introduce her to my world.
I dialed Butler Creek’s number while choosing an outfit.
“Yes, Master?” the old man greeted me right after answering my call.
“I want you to look at someone's details for me,” I picked up the fitted jeans and the dark gray turtleneck.
“Who is it, Master?”
I took the elegant khaki overcoat and the scarf.
These suited me better.
“Find details about Yzabelle Bathory’s father for me. Everything about him,” I told Butler Creek once I was satisfied with the outfit plan.
“Alright, I got it, Master. Anything else?”
“None. Send it to me right away.”
“Noted, Master.”
“Oh wait!”
“Yes?”
“Do you know a place where teens usually hang out? Like the eighteen years old,”
Butler Creek was quiet for a while.
Ugh! What am I thinking of asking the old man?
“Forget it,” I ended the phone call and started preparing myself.
She said fifteen minutes. I was worried she might change her mind if I took too long.
Ten minutes and I was ready. Yzabelle wasn’t coming out from her room yet.
I wondered what she was doing. I sat at the couch and started eavesdropping on her thoughts.
‘Gosh! What should I wear? It’s been a while since the last time I dressed up.’
Oh? She hadn’t picked an outfit yet? What was keeping her so long?
‘Ugh! Why would I even dress up? We’re just going to the mall. It’s not as if we are going to a luxurious dinner.’
‘Geez! Still, I need to wear something nice. His sense of fashion was incredible. I want to catch up with him,’
I silently chuckled at that. So, she appreciated my sense of fashion. Thanks to Butler Creek for taking me to a nice boutique and giving me quite great fashion tips.
‘No, I’m not doing this. Since when did I get conscious of my outfits? I’m good with anything simple.’
‘Oh, this khaki overcoat was pretty. It’s a good match for the turtleneck.’
‘But the pullover is quite great too,’
‘Ugh! What should I wear?’
“Hey? Aren’t you coming out?” I yelled towards her door. I glanced at my watch. “You said fifteen and it’s almost fifteen minutes since you went to your room,”
“I’m almost done!” she yelled back.
‘This devil! How dare he rush me. He was the one who was asking for a favor though,’
I could hear her moving hastily. She must be dressing up already.
Ten minutes more and she was out of her room.
And my jaw dropped to the floor. She was wearing light makeup and a simple yet elegant looking winter outfit.
And oh, she was devastatingly beautiful.
‘Mine,’ my wolf growled inside.
Yes, she was mine. Only mine.
“Maybe we shouldn’t go anymore,” I whispered.
“Huh? Why? Is my outfit not matching the place we are going to? I can go back and change,”
“No, no, I mean...” My lips pursed. “Why are you looking so beautiful? You’ll probably attract men’s attention out there and I will definitely got into a fight with them,”
‘What? Was that a compliment or the opposite? I could not decide if he liked my look or not,’ I heard her thoughts.
Of course I liked it. But that should be for my exclusive viewing.
She looked absolutely appalled by what she heard from me. But then, she went on being stubborn.
“It’s not my problem. It’s decent so there’s no reason for me to change it. You deal with those men you were talking about,” she said with finality and walked to the front door.
Nah! There, she took it the wrong way again.
“I like your outfit, okay? It perfectly matched mine,” I tried to amend it, thinking it could fix her current mood.
‘Asshole!’ her thoughts hissed on me.
Ugh! No… she was mad again.
I helplessly followed her.
Since when did I feel helpless over a girl?
