Killian:
She died!
I could not feel her anymore.
He did it!
He finally did it! He had already killed our fated assassin. I should be rejoicing now.
But…
No.
I suddenly felt a different pain. The pain of grief. The pain of losing someone very important.
I felt so down, as if everything was closing around me.
I felt breathless. I wanted to shout in pain!
Was I grieving for her loss?
I shouldn’t.
I shouldn’t be…
I ran inside the pack house and looked for my most trusted man, and the person I would appoint to be my beta once I became the Alpha. It was Aldi.
“Call my human butler. Ask him if he could track me anywhere in the city.”
Aldi nodded. “Right away, your highness.”
I went to my office and waited. The gloominess hadn’t left me yet and I didn’t like it.
Aldi went outside to make a call. He knew about my travel to the future, but as much as possible, I didn’t want him to get involved in any of it. It was my business alone. From the time I came back after my time travel, what I did was to grow business and power in the human community while I was still hands-on in the lycan pack. Thanks to Aldi, I made everything possible.
What I liked about Aldi was that he was more than capable. He was loyal to the core and very professional with everything and that was what I needed from a beta. We may not be the best of friends because I never considered one to be such, but he was my top choice to be my beta.
Aldi came back with an answer.
“Your human butler said he could not find you. Your last destination was in the forest, but they could not track you from there anymore,” Aldi reported.
I sighed. The gloominess was still there. I could tell he was still grieving for her. But he would definitely come back to his time.
From then, I would be able to remember everything.
“Thanks, Aldi. Everything seemed to be fine. We can have a rest now. Tomorrow, we will visit the Remus Pack. I’ll check with Corbin.”
Aldi politely left my office while I kept sitting behind my desk. I started to figure things out. I need to get my memories so I can find my luna.
“It is over now… I can get back on my feet and leave the life I should have.”

Sabrina:
The prince of the vampire descended from the grand staircase. He looks magnificent yet eerie in his elegant solid black three-piece Victorian steampunk tailcoat. For a person who was grieving his loved ones, he looked oblivious. He wore no emotions in his pale face. The fierceness in his eyes showed how cold-blooded he had become. Or maybe this was what he was before he met my best friend Eva.
“To whom do I owe your visit? The mourning for my daughter is over, if that was your reason for coming,” he coldly said.
“And I thought it would be a never-ending wake since her body couldn’t be touched by fire.”
My eyes were thrown at the coffin in the west wing of his mansion. Yzabelle was a beauty lying there, surrounded by beautiful flowers. She seemed like she was just sleeping.
“No. The wake is over.” Draco stole my attention once again. “We were moving into our true home.”
“In Caserta? What are you planning to do, Draco?”
“It’s none of your business, Sabrina.”
“Draco, please. You have to hand Yzabelle to us!” I demanded.
He suddenly snorted fiercely at us. “And why would I do that? She was my daughter! I have all the rights to her!”
“But, Draco, you can’t—”
“We are going to Caserta to reunite with Eva,” he stubbornly answered.
“But Eva was dead!”
“And so was Yzabelle.”
My mind went haywire. I could not understand what he meant.
When suddenly something dawned on me.
“Are you going to kill yourself to be with your family?”
He didn’t answer. My eyes widened in fear and shock. He was so devoted to his wife and daughter. I had a feeling that if not for Yzabelle, he would have taken his life right after he confirmed Eva’s death.
“No! You can’t do that, Draco!”
“Oh, try me.”
I was about to step forward and put some sense in him when I felt Alaric hold me back by my waist. I understand what he meant. He was trying to protect me by stopping me from approaching Draco. He must have thought Draco was not himself, and he might do something that would hurt me if I approached him. But I was Sabrina. I was not an ordinary luna. He might be a vampire, but I could not just back down.
Yzabelle was a Remus. We must bring her back home.
“Get out, while I am still being nice,” Draco warned us.
I could hear my Alpha gritting his teeth beside me. I knew he felt disrespected. But the vampire was mourning. Even though he did not show any feelings, I knew how painful everything was for him. He lost his mate and now his daughter. I could not imagine the pain he had, that he couldn’t show it anymore.
“You listen to me, Draco. If you hand Yzabelle to us—”
“No! You listen to me!” he boldly cut me off. “Yzabelle was my daughter. And you had no claim on her even though you invited her to join your pack. My daughter didn’t even know what that meant when you held that occasion for her. You and your selfish grandson did that without even telling my daughter what that ceremony would mean. Now, I guess your claim was invalid.”
“You!” Alaric suddenly growled. “How dare you disrespect my grandson?! Did you forget that you were talking to an Alpha and Luna right now?”
Draco smirked. “Too bad, I didn’t follow the rules of your animals.”
And that only worsened Alaric’s mood. His eyes turned red, wild and fierce. And I knew what that meant.
He was about to lunge at Draco, but I was quick to stop him.
“No… no honey… my Alpha. Hold yourself. We are here for peace and not for this.”
Alaric started to calm down, and his eyes turned back to their normal color. But I could tell through his gritted teeth that he was on his edge. I turned to the prince of the darkness.
“Draco, if only you would spare me a few minutes, you would know that you don’t have to do what you were planning—”
“You—”
“No, you listen to me first! We could bring Yzabelle back to life!”
Draco opened his lips. He seemed to want to say something, but my words dawned on him.
“What?!”
“Yeah, you heard it right, bastard,” Alaric hissed. “Our grandson that you were cursing a while ago has found a way to do that.”
“What, no?” Draco seemed dumbfounded.
“Oh, yes, vampire prince. Your lovely daughter will come back. All you have to do is trust us.” I coaxed Draco.
And I hoped this stubborn being would listen to us.
